Chapter 22 Alicia
It was Wednesday, and I had been on cloud nine since Sunday morning.
For the past three days, Basil had been nothing short of amazing.
Now that I had fully embraced us dating, he had been practically in my skin, and I enjoyed every moment of it.
On Monday, he took the kids, his nieces and nephews, and me to the movies to see Mufasa and made a whole show of it.
He painted the kids’ faces like little cubs; well, the girls’ faces since the boys were too old for baby stuff, as they put it.
I thought it was super cute, and it made me fall even deeper into his magnetizing realm.
It was so bad that I sucked his dick in the bathroom while the kids played at the arcade.
Shame.
On Tuesday, he and I enjoyed a romantic candlelit dinner on the rooftop at Sexy Steak. Everything about that night was amazing, and sex was out of this world. Just thinking about it had me pressing my legs together to stop the heartbeat between my thighs.
My cell rang on my desk, pulling me from my lust-filled haze, and I looked at the caller ID, seeing Raeley’s name across my screen. I paused from looking over a case file and answered.
“Hey, Rae-Rae.”
“Ali, save me, please,” she whispered into the phone.
I frowned. “Where are you? And why are you whispering?”
“I’m downtown at the 36th District Court.”
My frown deepened. “What the hell are you doing there?”
“Prison bae showed up to my house this morning . . . I think his ass followed me home after the party. Ali, I let him fuck me again, and now he has me at the courthouse, trying to marry me.”
“And you actually let him take you?”
“He lied to me! He said we were going to a brunch spot downtown but had to stop by here to see his P.O. first. I should have known better. Probation officers ain’t at no damn courthouse!”
I was silent for a moment before I burst into a fit of laughter. I didn’t mean to laugh at my cousin, but this was beyond insane. Trayvon was a damn nutcase. That one night had his head gone, and she wasn’t too far behind him.
“It’s not funny, Ali. Please come and get me. I’m scared,” she whined.
“I’m sorry, Cousin. I don’t mean to laugh, I swear. It’s just funny to me that his ass actually swindled you to go down there with him.”
“What if he tries to kill me if I don’t marry him?”
“First, I’m pretty sure his ass doesn’t want to go back to prison, and I’ll shoot for the maximum sentence and win.
Secondly, Basil will kill him if he tries to hurt you.
You know he believes he’s your favorite cousin now.
Third, I doubt he tries to hurt you when you got his ass wrapped around his finger to the point where he’s trying to trap and marry you after four days of knowing you. ”
“You have to give me some details on him, Ali. I know Basil told you something about him. Like, how is he going support us? What job does he have? What the fuck did he do to go to prison anyway?”
“You didn’t think to ask him any of this while he was putting you through the floor, Raeley?”
“I did ask him what he does for a living. His ass said construction. Everybody knows a kingpin’s main career at being a criminal is owning a construction company.”
“You have a point,” I said, laughing.
“See! Then his ass tells me I don’t need to know what he did, just that he’s not doing it again. Talking about he has to be here for our kids, Raevon and Trayana!”
“Oh my God!” I laughed so loud I had to cover my damn mouth. If this wasn’t the craziest mess I’d ever heard, I didn’t know what else would convince me otherwise. “Raeley, please! I am at work. I guess you need to start making those extreme life choices!”
“Go to hell, Alicia. I need to get out of here. I may have to call my mama and tell her to file a missing person’s report.”
“Raeley, really?”
“Yes! She got my daddy to play crazy; I know she can save me from this demon dick nigga since your ass ain’t no help.
” She sighed heavily. “He did show me his bank account though. There are a lot of commas in there that have me reconsidering those life choices. Good dick, a couple of mills, and a house in Beverly Hills, Michigan, doesn’t sound too bad. ”
“Raeley, get your confused, indecisive ass off my phone.”
“Okay, remember you said this if I die today, because I’m running my ass up outta here. Always know I loved you so much, Ali Cat.”
“Byyye, Raeley. I love you more.” I hung up on her crazy ass, chuckling to myself. If, in fact, she did marry Trayvon, they would be a toxic match in heaven. Trayvon seemed on the same unhinged level as Raeley. I couldn’t wait to tell Basil what the hell was going on between those two.
Those were the type of moments I enjoyed with Basil.
Not only were we building a relationship, but we were also building a friendship.
I could literally talk to him about anything, and he’d listen intently and always made me laugh, smile, or blush.
I’d never done that with Leo. Ever. The most I’d get out of him was five or ten minutes of conversation that only required bills and how our days were at work.
I shook off thoughts of him because I was in a better place in my life and didn’t need his ass creeping into my thoughts.
My phone pinged with a message, and I picked it up to see who it was.
My Baye:
Demon time at nine.
Me:
LOL! I am not fooling with you, sir!
My Baye:
At some point, we’re going to have to tell the kids about us.
Me:
We can do it tonight.
My Baye:
Nah, you Baye for the night.
I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks. See. He always made my ass blush something crazy.
Me:
I should be home before the kids go down.
My Baye:
They’ll be waiting for you to kiss them goodnight. Then I’ll be waiting to kiss you goodnight too.
I shook my head and smiled. Already, my morning was too live. It was just what I needed to get my morning boost and breeze through my workday.
My workday had unexpectedly run over. By the time I made it home, the kids were already asleep. Basil greeted me at the door and took my briefcase and purse from my hands. He kissed me deeply as I smiled.
“Hi, beautiful,” he said, pulling away.
“Hi, handsome.”
“You’re late.”
“I know. Work ran over. How were the kids?”
“You know they’re always good with me.”
I smiled. “Of course, they are.”
“You hungry?”
“Not really. My colleague brought me a late dinner.”
He looked at me with a raised brow. “It better had been a woman.”
I laughed. “Of course, it was. Why? Would you be jealous if it were man?”
“As fuck. Then I’d have to sit in the lobby of your office, waiting on homie to meet me outside.”
I cracked up. “Oh my God, Baye. Stop it. No one is checking for me. As far as anyone knows, I’m still married.”
“Keep it that way because you’ll be changing your name real soon to Cassidy.”
My cheeks warmed as I tried to keep my smile at bay but failed. “Is that right?”
“You better know it. Come on.” He took me by the hand and led me upstairs.
He let me kiss my babies, then took me into my bedroom.
He helped me remove my shoes, then undressed me.
Once done, he led me into my bathroom, where there were candles lit, soft R&B playing on the portable speaker, and a bubble bath with daisies in the tub and scattered on the floor.
I smiled in appreciation as he stripped me of my undergarments and kissed me deeply.
My arms went around his neck while his hands explored my body, gripping, massaging, and exploring all the right places.
Janet Jackson’s “Anytime” queued, and I lifted his shirt over his head and pushed at his joggers and briefs until they were off. I dropped to my knees on the plush rug and licked the tip of his dick. I could hear the soft breath he inhaled once I took him into my mouth.
He deserved some bomb head for all he had been doing for my kids and me.
I wanted—needed—to show my appreciation for his dedication, diligence, and ability to bring light into what was my otherwise dark world.
I didn’t know what I had been missing since Basil came into my life.
I had always felt something was missing in my life before I met him, like a dark cloud that covered part of the sun, giving me only a glimpse of light before it returned.
Then it stormed.
Now the rain showers had cleared, and every day, the sun gained its power back, making room for nothing but clear skies.
Basil was everything I never knew I needed.
I opened my mouth as wide as it could go and slid him right down my throat, then sucked him as if time wasn’t on my side.
“Fuck, Alicia. Damn, baby. You love this dick that much, huh?” he asked in that deep, throaty tenor that drove me crazy.
“Mmhmm,” I moaned.
“Yeah, he loves you too. Beautiful ass. I ain’t never seen nobody look this pretty sucking dick. I’ma keep blessing that account every day, my love. You deserve racks just because,” he said, grabbing a fistful of my hair and pumping his hips. “You gon’ catch this nut, baby?”
“Mmmm.” I moaned to let him know to sprinkle me.
“Mmhmm. You already know this is the pre-game before the real party, right? I need to get in them guts, mama.”
I placed my palms on his ass cheeks, pushing him further down my throat. He didn’t know I had my tonsils taken out years ago, so I had a no-gag reflex.
“Gahdamn, Alicia. Swallow this shit.” His dick jumped in my mouth until he was filling the back of my throat with his semen.
“Mmmm.” I moaned, sliding him out of my mouth with a loud plop.
“Bring yo’ nasty ass here,” he said, yanking me to my feet and driving his tongue into my mouth. We kissed nastily while he lifted me and set me on the counter. My legs went around his waist, palms pressing into his shoulders, and pussy ready and waiting for her dick to come home.
He slid inside of me with ease.
“Hold on tight, baby. This flight I’m about to take you on gon’ have a lot of turbulence,” he whispered against my lips.
“Mmm, take off, Baye. Take me to the Mile-High Club.”
He chuckled and pounded into me with a roughness I had come to enjoy. We fucked for a good twenty minutes before he had to refill the tub with hot water. We climbed inside on opposite ends while he poured some wine for us, then massaged my feet.
“Mmm, that feels so good.”
He smiled and sucked my big toe into his mouth.
“You must be trying to fuck again.”
He laughed heartily. “Oh, we def’ slapping skins again before we knock out.”
“You’re such a freak,” I said, tapping my toe on his lips. I laughed when he bit it.
“Tell me about your day,” he said after we were settled.
I smiled. “Well, for starters, when I got to work, my boss dropped two cases on me. One of them was a woman who chopped her husband up into pieces—”
“Well, damn.”
I laughed. “Exactly. The photos were grueling. Then, a fourteen-year-old boy was accused of killing his father.” I sighed. That was one case I knew would be hard.
“Wow. Do any of these cases put any strain on your mental health?”
“Sometimes. The really hard ones, like the one with the minor. The decisions I have to make to put a child behind bars for the majority, if not the rest, of his life are challenging. I’d never want to see Carsyn in anybody’s courtroom unless he’s a lawyer, a cop, a judge, or part of the jury.”
“And you never will. My lil G is smart, and with me in his life, you’ll never have to worry about him being in anyone’s system.
I’m going to show him how to be a real stand-up guy.
Show him the value of life and family. So many young boys get lost in the system because there’s no guidance, no structure.
I hate that for the little homie, but maybe it was out of self-defense. ”
“That’s what I’m thinking.”
“What else happened today?”
I burst out laughing at the thought of Raeley calling me earlier.
“Aw, shit, what Raeley do now?”
“Oh my God. How do you even know that’s who I was laughing about?”
“Because your family is funny, baby. They are the only ones I know who would make you laugh like that.”
“Why is your brother/best friend so damn loony?”
He chuckled. “What he do now, man?”
“She called me from the 36th District downtown, telling me he tricked her. He told her he had to go see his P.O., but later revealed they were going to get married.” We both cracked up.
Basil shook his head. “My nigga wild.”
“Is! Got my cousin scared shitless. I tried to call her, but she didn’t answer, and I got a text from her saying everything was fine. I’m starting to think Tray sent that damn text.”
“It wouldn’t be far off.”
“He’d better not do nothing to my cousin, Basil. I will send his black ass back to prison and make sure they bury him there.”
“Chill, baby. Tray is anything but a violent nigga. Only when provoked, and he certainly ain’t putting his hands on a woman. My mans got it bad for your cousin. That man ain’t never done nothing of this magnitude before. That was probably the second piece of ass he’d had since he been out.”
“That’s crazy. He gon’ have my cousin around here stressed the fuck out with two pieces of hair on her head.” We laughed. “What does he do for a living?”
“Why? So you can go back and gossip with your crazy-ass cousin?”
“No.” He gave me the ‘yeah, right’ look. “Okay, but in her defense, she should be privy to that information and not be blindsided. She told me he showed her his account, but she needs to know where he got all that money from.”
“What did he tell her he did?”
“Construction.”
Basil laughed as I stared at him. “You can’t tell Rae what I tell you in confidence, baby.”
“I won’t.”
“Promise me.”
“I promise, babe. Scouts honor.” I crossed my heart.
“That nigga does not do construction. Tray is an heir to a bank owner. He won’t be able to take over until he gets that blemish off his record, but his moms been filling his account up since he was eighteen.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yeah. Cuz ain’t got shit to worry about if she decides to accept his proposal.”
“Can I just tell her a little bit to ease her mind?”
“No, baby, you promised me.”
“Fine. I won’t say anything.”
“You bet’ not, or I’m going to set up a room in the basement on some Fifty Shades of Grey type shit, and torture yo’ fine ass.”
“I’m starting to think you have a bondage kink.”
“And you would be right.”
I smiled. “Oh goodness. What have I gotten myself into with you?”
“A lifetime of good dick, happiness, and love.”
“I like the sound of that,” I said, biting my lip.
We had another round of sex before we washed and dried, and I fell asleep with a content smile on my face.
