Chapter 12 The Real Letter
The Confession Letter I gave Jiang Shuo this time was indeed different from the one arranged by the program team.
That was also why I had deliberately skipped the mandatory exchange segment set by the production team.
Their version had a fixed format and requirements purely for the audience. The one I gave Jiang Shuo was sincere, without any cheesy words. It was a full explanation and confession of the feelings between us.
I felt this was a risk worth taking, so I had written it with extra care.
I returned to my room and waited for his reply.
After the clock hand had moved halfway around, I finally heard a knock on the door.
The moment I opened it, the first thing Jiang Shuo said was, "That's right. Being Handsome Is My Fault is my alt account."
Then he thought for a moment and added, "The piles of trash that appear outside your company building every few days were all from me."
At that point, Jiang Shuo added with clear dissatisfaction, "Your manager is no good. I'll have to get someone to replace him for you later."
His voice suddenly stopped.
I gently wrapped my arms around him.
Jiang Shuo's voice sounded again, this time much lower.
"I really have liked you for four years."
"I found out your schedule and waited for you in the cafe across from your company every time you went back."
"Also, the last time I waited for you in your drama crew's lounge, your manager wouldn't let me see you."
...
I suddenly started laughing. I laughed so hard that tears almost fell.
I understood what Jiang Shuo meant by saying all this.
He knew I lacked a sense of security. Even though he was thin-skinned, he still swallowed his pride and admitted all those embarrassing things.
Because he wanted me to know that he liked me.
For four years.
Not four days in the program.
And not some fleeting interest.
Jiang Shuo suddenly said, "Change your manager."
I looked at him in confusion.
He started calculating seriously. "I'll be your manager. Look, my dad is rich, my uncle runs a media company, and my friends know many big directors. I'm much more reliable than your current manager."
I felt a little annoyed. "So you just want to be my manager?"
Jiang Shuo was silent for a while, then said, "If I become your manager, I can be with you every day. If you really like Chu Yanxu..."
He thought for a moment and forced out, "If you really do, as long as you don't date in front of me, I can accept it."
I couldn't listen to his increasingly ridiculous words anymore and covered his mouth.
Although Jiang Shuo's own expression didn't look great while saying it, I knew he was doing it on purpose.
He was still angry with me and couldn't let go of my relationship with Chu Yanxu.
I sighed and explained, "There's really nothing between us."
Jiang Shuo's face remained cold.
Feeling helpless, I suddenly looked up and kissed him on the chin.
The icy expression on Jiang Shuo's face instantly cracked.
I said to him, "Stop overthinking. I like you too. I've only ever liked you. I've never liked anyone else."
"Really?"
"Really."
The corners of Jiang Shuo's mouth lifted. He looked like he was in a very good mood.
