Chapter Four #3

“Minx.” A groan left his throat as he kneeled in front of the chair. The moment he touched her legs and pulled her toward him, tingles of need flew down her spine. “I do so adore a woman who knows exactly what she wants.”

“Well, I knew that all the years of my marriage, but that didn’t matter. I never received it.” She rested a knee over his shoulder.

“You will today, and in that, you have my word.” He wasted no time in shoving her skirting up to her waist. Then his fingers were on that private part of her, spreading her open, and she waited with held breath, for her husband had rarely pleasured her in this manner.

“I’ll wager you need some very specific attention now. ”

No matter that she wished to give him a retort, the second he licked her flesh, the words evaporated from her mind like mist before the sun.

All too soon, he encouraged that tiny pearl out of hiding—for she was already semi-aroused from his earlier teasing—and with each probe and flick of his tongue, it swelled and grew more sensitive.

“I…” Diana dug her fingernails into the brocade of the chair’s arms. The way Nathaniel moved over her button, the way he worried the nub, suckled at it, gave it little nibbles…

It was both extraordinary and foreign. So much so that she squirmed in the chair in an attempt to elude his hold, but the viscount was having none of it.

“If you run away, I can’t meet all your needs,” he whispered against her flesh, then soothed the throbbing bud with his tongue.

Diana panted. She thrashed her head from side to side as pressure built and stacked in her lower belly.

“It’s so different… I must be drowning because I never knew…

” Intense sensations crashed over her, had enough force to make her faint.

She moved a hand to the back of his head, holding him to where she needed him to be. “More.”

His chuckle added heightened awareness to his ministrations, but he did as bid. The cheeky man added fingers to his play, sliding them in and out of her quivering passage, and that slow, languid rhythm bumped against the concentrated attention he paid to that button.

“Goodness me…”

As he applied enough friction to drive her mad, Diana’s body stiffened, and with a surprised sort of scream, she went over the edge.

Or more to the point, she was tossed over and careened into the air where she pinwheeled into a void filled with shimmering light.

Her body shook; her core rocked with contractions.

It was all she could do to ride the waves.

For the first time in years, she hit release with a man instead of by her own fingers, and this was so much better!

“Dear heavens.” She collapsed into the chair and stared at him—sated and winded. “I suppose I must admit to your skill.”

Nathaniel chuckled. The sound sent renewed flutters of awareness down her spine. “I’m glad I could be of service.”

“Yes, you are exactly what I need right now,” she managed to whisper.

“God, you are quite the picture.” He tugged a handkerchief from his waistcoat pocket and proceeded to wipe the moisture from his face. A supremely smug grin curved his lips. “How was that for an audition?”

“For what?” Good heavens, she could hardly think. She patted a sweat-damp curl back into her chignon.

“Anything? Everything?” His shrug was elegantly negligent.

“An affair. It doesn’t need to be long or drawn out.

We both have certain… urges. There is attraction and desire between us.

We get on together.” After he was done with the handkerchief, he passed it on to her.

“Why shouldn’t we have a bit of fun until we both find other interests? ”

Goodness, he mentioned an affair before she could.

How… interesting. However, though he’d satisfied her initial curiosity, she wasn’t looking for an affair.

She wanted something more permanent… but she supposed it wouldn’t hurt to play with him for a bit until she found someone who could fill a husband role.

A younger man with energy and the drive for carnal games was nothing to sneeze at. “When shall we start?”

“Haven’t we already done that?” He winked. “From the looks of things, you hit release quite violently.”

“It’s not well done of you to mention it.” Oh, he would be trouble, yet he made her feel younger than her years. She quickly used the handkerchief to wipe between her legs the best she could while she grinned. “Do you want to stay? Go driving?”

“Or continue this?” He raked his hungry gaze over her body. “As much as I would adore that, I have a meeting with my man of affairs this afternoon. Shall we meet tomorrow?”

This was happening so quickly, but oddly, she welcomed it.

After years of neglect and doing everything for others, this was her time.

“Yes. Come collect me around noon. We’ll drive to Hyde Park.

I’d like to do some walking if the weather is fair.

” When she folded the handkerchief, he took it from her, tucked it away.

“Also, I’d like to make a call on an acquaintance of mine with a large library. I’m looking for a particular book.”

“Very well.” He nodded. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” With another expression of male smugness, he left the room and Diana collapsed onto the chair with a longing in her belly for another form of satisfaction altogether.
