23. Enzo

Enzo

“Well, well, well,” I say as I crack the door to Dante’s room and peek inside.

“What is it?” Luca asks, walking down the hall from his room where the two of us spent the night.

He’s wearing a deep green Henley with the sleeves pushed up his forearms and the top few buttons undone.

He’s paired it with a pair of light wash jeans and light brown Blundstones.

All this is paired with his black-rimmed glasses, just the perfect amount of stubble across his sculpted jaw, and deliciously tousled hair.

His entire appearance is just so casual and so… unlike him.

And yet, he looks fucking delicious.

He catches me eye-fucking him and smirks. “I’d ask if you see something you like, but I know we’d just wind up back in that bedroom, and we have shit to get done today.”

I tap the tip of my nose and wink. “Smart man.”

“I’m a CEO for a reason remember?”

I chuckle. “And here I thought it was just because everyone likes to look at ya.”

“Nah. That sounds more like my COO.”

Smiling, I roll my eyes and nod toward Dante’s door. “Look.”

Luca peeks inside and makes a satisfied grunt. “Well, this is an interesting development.”

Through Dante’s door, we can see into his open bathroom where Joe is currently soaking in the tub, and Dante and Sebastian are standing at the vanity in nothing but their briefs getting ready for the day.

“Good morning, boys,” Dante’s deep voice says without him even looking away from the mirror.

“How does he do that?” I whisper.

“I have no idea. I’ve been trying to figure it out for years,” Luca answers.

“Because I’m better than you,” Dante replies fighting a smirk. Joe and Sebastian don’t try as hard.

I push the door the rest of the way open, and Luca and I move toward the bathroom. “What happened to you being respectful and calling me, Boss?” Luca asks Dante.

“Considering we’re all in love with the same woman, I think that ship has sailed now, don’t you?”

“Hmmm…” Luca hums as he taps his chin. “I don’t believe I’ve ever said that.” His mischievous grin may say he’s poking fun, but we all know he’s absolutely full of shit.

He loves her.

He knows it. We know it. She knows it.

Josephine stands from the tub, and all four of us look directly at her. We stand there frozen as we watch the bubbles fall over her tan skin and into the water at her feet. It feels like she moves in slow motion as she steps out of the tub and wraps the towel around her wet body.

She makes her way across the bathroom until she’s standing directly in front of Luca.

Standing on her tiptoes, she leans forward so her lips are brushing against his.

“That’s okay,” she says softly, “I can be very persuasive.” She lingers against his lips for a moment before dropping to her heels and moving over to me. “Good morning, Honey.”

It takes everything in me to hold in my laugh as she gives me a quick kiss. And when she steps in between us and walks across the room, I finally bust out laughing when my eyes land on a stunned Luca.

“That was fucking—”

Luca holds out his hand. “Don’t.”

Sebastian makes his way to him and kisses his parted lips. “You did that to yourself, Baby.”

“I was just trying to be funny,” Luca pouts.

“Leave the funny to this one,” Sebastian tells him as he gives me a soft kiss.

I puff out my chest with pride. “You think I’m funny, Tesoro?”

Sebastian rolls his eyes. “You don’t need me to stroke your ego.”

“Yeah, you’re right.” I snap my head back to Luca. “Leave the funny to me, Amico.”

Luca pins me with another sexy glare. It does nothing but turn me on. Sebastian laughs and grabs his hand. “Come on. Let’s go find something for breakfast.”

Sebastian pulls him from the room and suddenly it’s just me and Dante.

“So…” I say, walking into the bathroom and leaning against the glass of the shower.

Dante looks at me through our reflection in the mirror before turning around and leaning against the vanity, mirroring my posture.

I don’t even try to hide the fact that my eyes rake over his large, muscular, and almost naked body. “Anything of note happen last night?”

Dante raises a brow and crosses his arms over his chest. “Why do you say that?”

“What happened to the chair?!” Luca shouts from downstairs.

I point my thumb in the direction of the bedroom door. “Well… that, and the fact that the three of you were in here getting ready.”

“And?”

I give him my best “don’t play dumb” look, but he doesn’t budge. “Sebastian wouldn’t be getting ready in here unless he spent the night in here.”

“True.”

“So…” I pause, but he doesn’t continue. “Did he spend the night in here?”

“He did,” he answers matter-of-factly.

Oh for christ’s sake.

“And?”

“And we slept.”

“Oh.” Well, that’s lame.

“And this morning we…” He pauses and scratches the back of his neck. “We tried some new stuff.”

“Oh. So you and Seb—you—you, uh—”

He takes a deep breath. “Me and Seb nothing. It was Me, Joe, and Seb.”

Oh, thank god. I’m not sure why but the thought of him being with Seb made me feel… jealous. “Oh. Okay. Cool, cool cool.”

“Seb wanted to see if I could handle… sharing.”

Okay, now it all makes sense. “And could you?”

“I could. It was—seeing her like that was—she was beautiful.”

“So beautiful,” I say softly in agreement.

“I wouldn’t mind, umm—” it isn’t often I see Dante so flustered and obviously uncomfortable. I’ve got to say, it’s nice to see he isn’t as put together as he always tries to be.

Pushing off the glass I make my way over to him. We’re toe-to-toe but because he’s leaning against the counter, his face is still so far away. “Wouldn’t mind what?”

He shakes his head. “Nothing. Nevermind.”

“Tell me. Big Daddy,” I joke, trying to make him a little more comfortable.

The corners of his mouth pull up ever so slightly. “You’re fucking ridiculous.”

Shrugging, I answer, “I know. Now tell me what you were gonna say.”

He takes a deep breath before standing to his full height.

I’m tall, but Dante stands a few inches taller than me.

However, as I look up at him, and him down at me, our lips are just a breath apart.

“I wouldn’t mind doing that with you sometime,” he says quietly.

So quiet that if I weren’t standing this close, I don’t think I’d have heard it.

“I’m sure Joe would love that.”

He swallows harshly. The two of us aren’t touching except for where our chests brush against one another as we take in deep breaths. “But… I—shit,” he hisses under his breath. “I think I’d like to try it with you.”

He says it so fast and so quietly that it takes a moment for my brain to register what he just said to me.

That after all these years, after all the cheesy come-ons, after all his exasperated eye rolls and grunts, he just said that.

He wants me.

“You do?” I ask. Still in disbelief.

“Yeah. I think so.”

I don’t move. I don’t say anything. I don’t even think I breathe.

Because Dante DeLuca wants me. And I’m afraid that if I so much as blink, I’ll wake up and this will all be a dream.

The two of us stand there, toe-to-toe, chest-to-chest, for what feels like an eternity.

Our heavy breathing echoes in his bathroom.

And just when I think he’s about to step away and pretend this never happened, I watch as his eyes stray from mine down to my lips, and—

He grabs my face in his hands and crashes his mouth into mine.

I stand there completely and utterly stunned for a moment. And then—

My hands find his lean waist and I pull him to me. Not leaving even a fraction of an inch between our bodies.

The comforting scent of spice and vanilla envelopes me, and it feels like my body molds against his. Like I was meant to be here all along.

Despite how nervous he was just mere moments ago, his kiss is anything but. There isn’t a single ounce of hesitation or fear. He’s powerful and fierce. Like he’s trying to own me from this kiss alone.

And I just might let him.

Dante lets out a low growl, and I swear to god I can feel it deep in my soul. My hands flex on his waist, and I’m about to shove him back against that counter when Luca’s voice sounds up the stairs. “You guys coming down for breakfast or what?”

Our lips pull apart, but he lets his forehead fall against mine as the two of us pant for breath.

“Luca…” Joe hisses loudly, and I smile knowing she’s trying to give us our space.

“Be right down,” Dante shouts.

“So, rain check?” I ask

“Yeah.” He hooks his index finger beneath my chin and kisses me once more. “Rain check.”
