Chapter 31

CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE

ORION

I couldn’t get enough of her. I hammered into her, driving hard and fast. With each thrust, she cried out my name in pleasure. There was nothing more beautiful than the sound of her voice crying for me.

“You’re a sex maniac, Orion!” She looped her arms around my neck and kissed me while I fucked her.

Blood pounded in my ears as our mouths sought each other in desperation. She tasted like everything I’d ever wanted, but didn’t know until this moment. On one hand, it didn’t make any sense. But on the other, it made perfect sense. My logical and intuitive minds were blending together.

“You’re so fucking hot.” I gasped and absorbed her wild look. The messy hair, the darkened brown eyes gleaming with desire for me, and the swollen lips that begged for more kisses. She was a gorgeous wildflower, and she was mine.

Primal need surged in me as I extracted myself from her.

She pouted with disappointment, so I said, “Turn around. I want you from behind.”

Smiling, she turned and bent over, her arms stretching out on the kitchen table. I spanked her behind gently. “I’ve wanted to do that for a long time.”

“Oh really? Since when?” She arched her back, and her fine ass greeted me.

“The car accident.” I bent down and dropped kisses on her glistening skin.

She released a moan and turned her head sideways toward the glass cabinet. Our eyes met in the reflection, and a mutual understanding passed between us. I loved that I could read her.

She enjoyed watching me adore her.

“Watch me feast on your fine ass.” I gave her butt another slap, then dropped to my knees, spread her legs wider, and swiped my tongue over her wetness.

“Oh my God,” she whimpered.

Her moan echoed in the house. Her decadent scent was the oxygen I needed to survive. I stroked her bud once, and her body thrashed. I repeated the action, loving how my tongue detonated her. Her body trembled.

I smiled as I sucked on her bud and pushed two fingers into her, pumping hard.

“Orion!” she screamed with delight.

An image of a dandelion puff bursting free into the air popped into my head.

“Yes, Sunshine.” I sucked on her swollen bud again.

“You’re a sex god!” She squirmed, trying to escape my tongue’s assault.

I turned to meet her eyes on the glass panel. “I enjoy being your sex god, the one who’ll savor you all night.”

“You’re also a fine thief,” she breathed.

When I’d first hired her, I had no intention of sharing this part of me. Only three people knew about my extracurricular activity: The Condor, The Raven, and Ralph. Now Elena—the first woman to see this side of me. Kate didn’t even know.

Elena only knew a facet of me, not about The Roc yet.

But Elena got me to share private details about my life so quickly. I’d delve into that matter another time.

Then I slammed into her, pumping hard and fast. Heat soared in me as a surge of ecstasy pushed me closer to the edge. I sensed her inner muscles tightening, preparing for her release.

“Elena!” I roared her name as the orgasm ricocheted through me.

“Oh my God!” Her body trembled, and I loved how her muscles squeezed my cock even tighter.

I rested my body on top of hers. Sweat slicked between us, and I heard her racing heartbeat.

After a moment I yanked her up to a standing position and turned her to face me. “That was extraordinary.” I brushed the wet strands of hair from her face.

“It was indeed.” She smirked and kissed me.

I released her to go wash myself and brought back a towel. “Want me to clean you up?”

“I can do it.” She took the towel from me.

Now that my mind had settled a little, I asked, “Does it bother you that I’m a thief?”

“Maybe.” Tossing the towel on one of the kitchen chairs, she looped her arms around my neck and smiled. “You just stole my brain cells and all the insecurities I had leading up to this moment.”

I tapped her forehead. “I think your brain reproduces brain cells too quickly for me. You had insecurities about being with me?”

She shrugged. “I live in a different world than you, Orion. We’re on opposite sides of society. Your privileged lifestyle opens a lot of doors. But where I come from, it takes a lot to even get near that door.”

She had to know those differences didn’t matter to me. But I understood her concern. It was a practical analysis and response to a world that had been conditioned in a certain way.

“I don’t care about those things. Remember this, Sunshine. Your self-worth isn’t defined by your bank account or your status in the world.” I gave her a soft kiss. “You offer me what my privileged life could never give me.”

“And what’s that?” she choked.

“A deep connection. This inexplicable friendship. This ability to let go and relax.”

She smiled. “Most people don’t have trouble relaxing.”

“Anxiety has been my weakness . . .”

She did it again. She could bait out the truth like no one else. But she didn’t do it intentionally like a therapist would. It was simply how I reacted to everything she did and said.

“I can help you with that . . .” She gave me a wicked grin and drew something on my chest with her finger.

“You sure can. We can call it Sunshine Therapy.”

She snorted. “They have light therapy where you sit under this special lamp that beams a light onto your body for healing purposes.”

“Not my kind of thing. I prefer you .”

I gathered her up into my arms and carried her into the bedroom. “Let’s get some rest in your bed. Then we can have round two and three later? I’m up for four and five too.”

Her chuckle grew into a laugh. “You’ve got quite the stamina.” She pressed a kiss to my chest. “Not normal.”

I laughed. “You’ve no idea what I have when I’m with you. An inner power comes to life, a surge of imminent power.” I dropped her onto the bed, crawled in next to her, studying how beautiful she was.

All mine.

She stretched out like a cat, looking at me with a satisfied expression that did something to my chest. I’d never had a long conversation during sex. But with her, it seemed normal.

She curled up beside me and threw a leg over mine, trapping my cock beneath her soft skin.

“My body is deliciously limp and relaxed. Thank you.” She rested her head on my shoulders. These little things reminded me of the past, but those memories weren’t as clear as they had once been.

Elena had somehow blurred those memories, allowing me to move forward with hope and ease. For the first time in my life, I felt like I had control of my emotions. It sounded strange to a man who had control of so many materialistic things. A man who stole precious items as easily as pressing a button on a remote control. When it came to my anxiety, I skimmed the edge of a complete breakdown. It had happened once before, and I had my mother to help me overcome it. But she wasn’t here anymore, and I was no longer a teenager.

I could easily become a different person when I stepped over that thin line separating me from right and wrong. Mental health was this dark place that distorted everything you believed to be true. It could end a man simply for saying the wrong word or being two seconds late.

When I’d been chasing after a sex trafficking ring, I’d interrogated many people, using methods I’d rather not discuss. But they were necessary techniques I used for the scum of society who only responded to those techniques. To dwell in a dark world, leniency would be a weakness I couldn’t afford.

Why the fuck was I thinking of this darkness with Elena beside me?

I grunted, and she looked at me with concern in her brown eyes. “You okay?”

“Perfectly fine.”

“You smell nice.” She inhaled my neck. “Sweat and sex.”

A tightness formed in my heart, but I ignored it.

“You smell nice too.” I sniffed her hair, inhaling her shampoo mixed with her unique scent, and it aroused me all over again.

“We sound like two silly teenagers.” She nibbled on my neck and gave me a hickey.
