34. Krynn
We reached the Cavern of Lolth and I ran a cool bath in the tub as Sel put our Lady on the bed and stripped off the Quenching gown she was still wearing. I was worried about her sudden fainting spell and the fact that her body was burning but I thought I knew what we could do to cure the Thirst-fever and heal the Princess.
First, though, we had to get her cooled down.
“Now—it’s ready,” I called to Sel, who scooped the Princess up once more and carried her over to place her gently in the large marble tub. I had made certain that the water wasn’t too deep, so it only came up a little over halfway around her curvy body. Her large breasts floated, the tight nipples enticingly erect, but at the moment I wasn’t aroused by the sight—I was too worried about her to be lustful.
Sel felt the same way, I could tell because I could feel his anxiety. Ever since we had spent time together in bed with Princess Lilliana between us, I could feel both of their emotions. It was part of being a Sin Eater…which was part of having the Needing. I could feel that side of myself growing more and more restless recently as my cycle rose to a peak, but I couldn’t deal with it at the moment, so I pushed it away.
“Is she cooling down some?” Sel asked, his voice rough with the worry he was feeling.
I put a hand on our Lady’s forehead and nodded.
“A little, I think. Now in order to cure her Thirst-fever, we just have to undo the effects of the Mortal’s blood.”
“And how do we fucking do that?” he demanded, his irritation and worry spiking. “She already drank it. What are we going to do—make her throw it up?”
“That would be impossible even if we wanted to,” I pointed out. “Her body has already absorbed everything she drank.”
“Then what can we do?” he asked again. “I don’t understand.”
“Look, the Princess needs two things,” I told him, counting them off on my fingers. “Real Fae blood and sexual pleasure. You and I can give those things to her—that should cure her need, which is just the remains of the Thirst which is still unsatisfied.”
“You’d better let me give the blood, then,” Sel said, giving me a knowing look. “You’re close to the edge with your Needing—you were in a fucking lust-trance back in the Quenching Parlor. You would have let the Princess drain you dry and welcomed death if it came at her hand.”
I felt a bolt of shame rip through me and bowed my head for a moment. The Needing has never been easy to deal with but it cannot be gotten rid of either. It had been so many years since Lady Elgiana had infected me with the insidious disease, one would think I would have learned to deal with it by now. But no—I still felt shamed by the things it forced me to do…the things it forced me to desire.
“Hey, I’m sorry.” Sel put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed, offering an awkward apology. “I just know what you’re like at this time in your cycle. You don’t need to be giving blood right now.”
“You’re right.” I nodded and looked up. “To be honest, I would rather serve our Princess in other ways, anyway,” I told him. “Let me provide the pleasure while you provide the blood.”
“How do you want to do it?” he asked.
“Well, we—” I began.
But at that moment, the Princess’s eyelids fluttered open and she looked up at us, an expression of confusion in her Royal Purple eyes.
“What’s going on?” she whispered weakly. “Why am I all wet?”
