Chapter 29 #3

“You bit me,” she breathed.

Argos straightened her glasses on her nose, a grin playing at his lips. “Did you like that?” he asked, tracing the profile of her face with his finger, from her nose to her throat.

“Mm-hmm.” She sighed eagerly.

He tugged down her sleeves to free her arms, and as soon as he did so she took his face in her hands and kissed him.

Without breaking their contact Argos lifted her.

She felt the soft mattress against her bare back.

A moment later, Argos lifted her hips, shoving a pillow beneath them.

All the while she kissed him, desperately, as if she didn’t know any other way to do it.

“Argos, don’t ruin my dress—” Her words dissolved into a groan as he nipped her earlobe and tugged. She gasped, spreading her legs wider for his fingers. “I really like this one.”

“I will spare the dress.” Argos laughed, a deep vibration running through Theora as he snuggled into her neck. “You, on the other hand…”

A shiver ran through her. “Were throwing me off the bed a hundred times and literally biting me not enough?”

“For what you put me through over the past two weeks?” He gripped her wrists in one hand, pinning them above her head so quickly she missed it.

Droplets of blood and venom bloomed where he’d bitten her, and she breathed out a swear, her body arching against him in earnest as he leaned over her and licked them away. “Not remotely.”

Argos pressed himself inside her slowly, and Theora closed her eyes, biting her lip against a scream, the sound strangled in her throat.

This wasn’t a competition. There was no need to fight against this deep, incredible pleasure, as if she were trying to prove a point. She could simply enjoy it, because this was what she had asked for when she gave Argos that watch.

He thrust slowly, and she moaned, suddenly forgetting to be stubborn. “Eyes here.”

She obeyed the command, opening her eyes, her breath catching the moment she met his gaze.

His body was calm compared to his eyes—dancing like flames, but at the same time, calculating…dangerous. And suddenly Theora couldn’t catch her breath. He wanted her. It was the most thrilling moment of her life, seeing that desire in his eyes.

Sovereign, you’re so beautiful, she thought, but her body was too much like a fire, wishing to run wild rather than softly burn, so the words remained in the safety of her head.

She suddenly had a strange urge to run kisses along his hot body, to feel him tremble beneath her, to hear his breath stagger.

Her husband noticed the shift in her, his expression dangerous enough to make her climax without any of his help.

He kept her wrists locked above her head and grabbed her face with his other hand, his fingers pressing into her soft cheeks as he leaned close.

“Now…I want you to come for me. Again…and again…and again. Can you do that for me, beautiful?”

Theora tried to nod, the movement stilted by Argos’s giant grip. “Yes,” she said, like a plea.

“Good fucking girl,” he growled, so low and deep it sent a tremor through her.

She moaned as he kissed her, and when he pressed inside her she didn’t lock her body away from feeling what she wanted to feel.

Even after she peaked, he didn’t stop. Until she came again, and he with her.

Until she had to resort to using his command word, just to catch her breath.

He obeyed immediately, and she collapsed in her own sweat, panting and trembling, her muscles still twitching without her permission in unbearable pleasure.

“We are now bound under the Sovereign,” Argos said, nothing of her own fatigue in his body or voice—the man’s stamina was uncanny. “You belong to me, do you understand?”

“Yes,” she breathed, panting. Exhausted. Overwhelmed. Elated. Desperate for him.

“Whose?”

“Yours,” she said.

“Mine,” he confirmed. His grip softened to gentleness, and he released her wrists, caressed her cheek. She immediately wrapped her arms around her husband’s neck, wincing from the quick movement—she would be sore tomorrow, but none of that mattered to her now.

“That didn’t feel like a punishment,” she panted.

Argos let out a breath of laughter. “Do any of them ever to you?”

“You threw me off the bed.”

“And?”

“And bit me.” She moaned as Argos licked her bite marks again, and it was almost too much to bear on top of everything else. She winced. “That really hurt, you gigantic brat.”

Argos looked at her so lovingly, she almost wanted to take it back, until he said, “Of the two of us, I’m the brat?”

He flipped Theora onto her stomach, and she found herself giggling in true enjoyment as he grabbed her hips, shifting her ass to the angle he wanted.

For once in her life, she was more than happy to surrender all control without even a thought.

To not be a queen desperately striving to be the best ruler for her people.

To just be…a woman. A woman unmoved by the worries of the world.

A woman taking pleasure in her husband. A woman… in love.
