Chapter 6
Lana
I can’t believe Troy is dead. I can’t believe I’m the one who killed him. Maybe it was a little too quick, but I couldn’t stop myself. It felt good to take his miserable life. It felt good, too, to let go of some of the hate I felt inside.
Hunter, that’s his name; he walks back toward me, grabbing my wrist in his hand. I think about jerking away, but I don’t. He leads me down the hall and into another room. A bedroom.
He doesn’t stop as he leads me into the bathroom.
“Wash up,” he says, nodding toward the sink. Then he leaves the room. I can hear him rummaging around in the bedroom as I turn the water on and clean myself up. I need a shower and maybe later I’ll get one.
Once I’m cleaned up as best I can Hunter walks back in with some clothes.
“You can wear these until I get someone to bring you some. They’re going to be too big,” he says, nodding toward the t-shirt and sweatpants he brought in. “I don’t keep women’s shit around, only children.” I nod my head as I stare up at him. He’s very good-looking. Tall, muscular. Dark hair hangs over his eyes, and I can even make out some old scars on his face.
“You going to change?”
“Are you going to watch me?” I ask him. I shouldn’t talk to him. I shouldn’t say a fucking word because I’m here for a reason.
“I don’t know you, little rebel. And if I don’t know someone who comes in unannounced to my home, I watch them. I keep them close.” He’s smart; I’ll give him that. I reach for the hem of my shirt and pull it over my head when he hisses. “Jesus.”
I look down and see the angry bruises left there by Ray, and I’m sure he has questions, but he isn’t getting answers. Before I know what’s happening, he reaches out and runs his fingers along the ones on my ribs, and I suck in a breath. His touch isn’t like anything I’ve ever felt before. There’s electricity, a shock.
“I don’t mind a woman wearing my marks, but this isn’t the kind of marks you should have, little rebel.”
“Why are you calling me that?”
“Little rebel?” he asks, looking up at me but keeping his fingers on my flesh. I nod. “I see it in your eyes. I saw it out there. You might not want to talk to me about things right now, but you killed him for a reason. I can only assume you know each other, and you’re rebelling against him.” I narrow my eyes on him, not sure how to take that, how he could see that.
I don’t say anything as his fingers keep moving over my bruise. Then he suddenly pulls away, and I feel myself deflate a little.
“We’re going to eat, and then you can shower,” he tells me. I nod my head as I pull the shirt on before changing into the pants. When I pull them up and they’re too big, Hunter grabs the side and pulls them into a knot quickly before nodding for me to go. I walk out of the bathroom and out of the room back into the hallway, where he leads me back to the main room we were in.
There are now three girls gathered around the table, setting food and drinks out. They all look up when they hear us coming.
“Look at you three. It’s nice to see you when you’re not all busted up,” Hunter teases them, and they all laugh.
“It’s always nice to see us anyway,” one of the girls says. They introduce everyone to me and when it’s my turn, I don’t know what to say. Guess it couldn’t hurt to tell them my first name.
“I’m Lana.” I see Hunter lick his lips next to me, and fuck, does he make it look good.
“Well, let’s eat,” Angel says as everyone sits down and grabs a plate except me. Hunter makes a plate and sets it in front of me, nodding at it. I don’t know what to make of all this. This isn’t how I expected them to be. When Ray said I was to get in with them and find out all that I could, this wasn’t what I had in mind.
I pick up the fork and listen as everyone talks. They talk about a little of anything and everything but nothing that’s doing me any good.
Then, it hits me. What the hell am I doing? I’m here to get information, not sit and have dinner with them! If Ray finds out I was even talking to them, he’s going to kill me. Of course, he’s going to make me suffer first, but then he’ll kill me.
I glance around the table before I stand and take off running. I hear the guys say something behind me, but I don’t stop. I can’t do this. Why am I doing this?
I shove through the front door after punching in the code I heard Hunter talking about and out into the night. Glancing around, I don’t know where to go. That’s when I heard the door slam shut.
“Lana?” I hear Hunter call for me, and my heart hammers against my ribs. So I run. I take off toward the trees hoping like hell I can hide from him for a while until I can figure this out.
“Oh, little rebel, I don’t think you know what you’re doing to me right now,” I hear his voice so loud. “I love a good game of hide and seek.” My breaths are shaky as I move slowly, hiding behind the largest tree I can find. Then I hear a noise. Is that chain rattling?
He has chains. He’s going to kill me. My hands shake as I hear the rattling, getting closer and closer. I close my eyes and hope he doesn’t find me. But then I feel it before I even see or hear it. A chain is wrapped around my neck from behind me, and a scream rips from my throat before being cut off by Hunter yanking on the chain. I choke and reach up, trying to pull it away, but it does no good.
“I think I won this round, little rebel. But do try again. I fucking love it,” Hunter whispers in my ear. A shiver runs down my spine as he wraps his arm around my waist and lifts me off the ground. There’s no use in fighting him. I’m not going to win.
Hunter carries me up the steps and then sets me on my feet before nodding toward the floor.
“You want to run through the trees like an animal, then I’ll treat you like my little pet,” he says, nodding once more. I shake my head. I’m not going to do it. Hunter smirks. It’s a dark, sinister smirk that has my stomach in knots. He doesn’t need to say anything more as I slowly drop to my knees in front of him.
His hand comes down to my hair, and he runs his fingers through it.
“That’s such a good girl, little rebel. Such a good fucking girl.” Another shiver rolls through me. This should be embarrassing, and a part of me is embarrassed, but the other part? The part of me I can’t control? That part is turned on by his words. I look up at him, and he narrows his eyes.
“You like that, don’t you? You want to be my little pet?” What the hell is wrong with me? Why do I want to nod my fucking head? Jesus, Ray must have really done a number on me. Hunter laughs as he pulls on the chain. At first, I don’t know what the hell he wants, but then he nods to the floor, and I get it. He wants me to crawl.
“We weren’t finished with dinner,” he tells me, tugging on the chain once more. Why do I do it? I don’t know, but I start crawling on my hands and knees.
I crawl through the front doors and into the main room. All eyes are on me, and I drop mine to the floor, but Hunter doesn’t like that. He stops walking and squats in front of me, lifting my face with his fingers.
“No looking down. This isn’t to embarrass you.”
“Then, what is it for?”
“So you learn,” he says before standing back up. I don’t know what he wants me to learn from this, but when he walks, I fucking crawl. I crawl over to the table, where he sits back down, adjusting his cock as he does.
“That is fucking hot,” Silas murmurs as he looks over at me.
“Seriously?” Angel, his wife, smarts off.
“Yeah, seriously. We’re fucking trying that later,” he says. I see her cheeks turn pink while the others laugh. Then I look back to Hunter. His eyes are burning through me as he holds out a fork with food on it. Is he feeding me? What the hell? I almost don’t open my mouth because I don’t know what the hell is happening right now, but Hunter nudges my lips, and I part them. He puts the bite into my mouth before pulling the fork away and getting a bite himself. I don’t know how to feel right now. I don’t know what to think.
The rest of the night goes on like this. Everyone carries on a conversation like I’m not sitting on the floor on my fucking knees being fed by this man. He takes his time, and when I’ve had enough, I shake my head. He leans over and whispers, “Such a good girl.” My cheeks heat, my pussy clenches. I’m so confused.
Everyone sits around and talks a little more before they excuse themselves to leave. They all say goodbye to me like we’re old friends when Hunter tells Hoax we’re going to bed. He picks up the chain and leads me back down the hall into the room where I changed earlier. He drops the chain to the floor, and it startles me a little. I watch him go around the room doing little things here and there before punching in a code on the door panel. I hadn’t seen that earlier.
Then he walks back over to me and removes the chain from my neck and nods toward the bed.
“Until I trust you, until I know you, you sleep in here.”
“I’m not sleeping with you.”
“You’re not leaving this room either. There’s a code on the door, and there’s nothing here you can use as a weapon,” he informs me as he climbs on the other side and lays down. I climb on the edge of the bed and sit with my head in my hands. I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing anymore.
