Chapter 28 #2
I pull Anu to me, and her body melts with mine She lifts her face to me, probably expecting a kiss on the cheek.
Not today. My lips touch hers, and she responds by opening for me.
A rush of warmth and desire is ignited by the contact of our tongues that has now sparked an insatiable hunger in me.
Our swirling tongue feels like a harmony of flavors coated to bring passion and desire that births a delightful sensation.
I’d anticipated a pleasant, and maybe a good kiss, but reality surpassed all expectations, leaving me breathless and shaken.
I’m ensnared by her; the silken threads of her web have completely serenaded me, and I don’t care because I find myself unwilling to break free.
We stay lost in each other, our tongues making its own musical rhythm until the deep loud throat is cleared.
I break the kiss and stare into the eyes of my woman.
We both know the kiss caught us both off guard.
The craving for more is clear as the sun beats down on us.
I kiss her cheek and whisper in her ear:
“I’ll send Zack back for you.”
A soft breath escapes her.
“No need. Jordan is sending a car for me,” she says, trying to pull away from me. A tender touch to her cheek accompanied a playful wink.
“Not today. Zack will be here waiting, and he can take you everywhere you want to go.” My tone of finality is firm, though my eyes soften. She nods and pulls away.
“See you later, “she says before heading to the house. I watch fucking Richard following her. I bet the asshole is checking out her ass. I feel an instant need to cover her up and take her home, then mark her all over with my scent.
Again, not today.
She stops at the door and waves at me. I wink at her with a smile.
I get in the car. On our drive back, I can’t help but think about that kiss.
There’s no way I’m not coming back for more.
I’m fucking claiming her as mine. I knew it the moment I saw her, but I’m a thousand percent certain about it now, and I’m so not leaving room for any other male species to get close to my territory.
We are close to the office, and I decide to let Zack in on his next assignment.
“Once we get to the office, return to pick up Ms K and take her everywhere she plans to go today. Do not leave her side today. She’s very important to me.”
“Yes sir.” If he wanted to ask more questions, he didn’t.
My mind works on how to get the fucking Richard guy to keep his hands to himself. Once Zack drops me off at the office, I remind him of his next assignment. “Go back and wait for Ms K,” he nods.
I make my way up to my office and move past Patrick, without a word. The guy must think I’m losing my shit. Locking my door I call Bruce. He’s the best security intel and one of my best friends.
“Hey,” he answers.
“I need everything on a guy named Richard. He has a son named Nick. Texting his address as we speak,” I spill my request without missing a beat.
“What do you need to know about him?”
“Everything, and I want you to send him a warning.” My brevity shocks him, when I hear his heavy sigh.
"What kind of warning?" A weight settles in his voice, hinting at underlying unease.
"The verbal scary type." And I heard him sigh in relief.
“That’s easy, what did he do?”
“He’s pulling cloak-and-dagger handsy moves around my roommate.”
Bruce burst into laughter.
“And we care because?” he teases.
“Just fucking do it,” I snap as I hear him laugh.
He and my other brothers slash best friends have mocked me about being Anu’s roommate for ulterior motives. They are right, but I’m not about to give them a yes.
“Fine, I’ll get it done and send you the bill.” He laughs more.
“Thanks,” I say, hanging up, knowing it’s as good as done. That motherfucker won’t see it coming. I’m going to find a way to make Zack drive her to this lesson every time. Come to think of it, what happened to her car?
Me: Where is your car?
Anu: Woke up to a flat tire, didn’t have time to deal with it, will take care of it later.
Me: Send me Nkem’s address, I’ll have it fixed.
Anu: Jordan said he’ll take care of it later today.
Me: Send me the address, Anu.
Anu: 1050 S. Lakeshore drive
Me: It should be home when you return.
I buzz Patrick and he comes in. He has schooled his features for whatever bombshell I can possibly drop.
“Relax, I’m good now, just needed some air.” I watch him exhale.
“Aaron came back, and I told him you were out,” I hear annoyance in his voice. Aaron can be a bit whinny when he’s not getting his way. I can only imagine the nonsense he may have spilled on Patrick.
“Disregard him,” I answer, dismissing talks about Aaron. “Right now, I need you to work your magic. Ms K’s car is at this address, with a flat tire. I need it fixed and at our place within the next two hours.” Wait, did I just say our place?
“Not a problem, do you have the keys?” Yep, I didn’t think of that.
“Hold on.”
Me: Keys to the car?
Anu: Nkem is home, she is in apt 402. I’ll let her know. Got to go, Richard is giving me a stinky eye.
I don’t respond. I try not to fume about her last sentence. I turn to Patrick, giving him the information about the car. He leaves and I call Bruce back.
“Hey, did you call the guy already?”
“Yep, he’s easy. I sent him some pictures and told him all his clandestine moves outside his marriage will be shared with his wife, if he doesn’t back away from MAK.”
“Thanks. She sent me a message saying he’s giving her a stinky eye.”
“His ego is crushed, let me know if he needs a reminder.”
“Okay, thanks Bro.”
