Chapter 34 #2

She smiles, and her head falls back against the pillows.

She lets out a frustrated groan that makes me smile against her.

Right now, I’m savoring her and working my way back up her body.

I take my time kissing her stomach, the curve of her ribs, the underside of her breast. By the time I reach her mouth, she’s trembling.

“Please,” she whispers against my lips. “Touch me.”

I drag my featherlight touch down her side. “Where?”

She grabs my hand and pushes it between her legs. “There.”

I give her one slow stroke, and she gasps.

“Louis.” My name comes out like a threat.

“Yes?”

“More.”

I kiss her jaw, her neck, the spot below her ear that she loves. “You’re a greedy little thing, aren’t you?”

“You have no idea.”

But I can tell by how her body responds to every touch. She’s desperate for me like I’m the only one who can give her what she needs.

I slide back down and settle between her thighs again. This time, I start slow, barely any pressure, just enough to make her squirm. I work her back up, and her hips roll toward me. I let her find a rhythm, let the pleasure build until she’s right at the edge, until her thighs start to shake.

Then I stop.

“Fuck,” she gasps. “Please, I can’t—”

“You can.” I press a soft kiss to her center, just enough to keep her hovering. “And you will.”

I do it again. Building her up and pulling back, over and over, until she’s a writhing mess beneath me. She’s beyond words now, beyond thought.

“Do you want to come?” I ask her.

“Yes.” She’s barely coherent as her eyes roll to the back of her head.

I give her my tongue and fingers exactly how she wants. Within seconds, she’s shattering, crying out my name like she’s claiming me as hers. I don’t stop, pushing her through it, drawing out every pulse until she’s laughing.

I kiss my way back up while she catches her breath. Her eyes are glazed with satisfaction.

“That was …” she says.

“That was foreplay.”

She pulls me down and kisses me, tasting herself on my tongue. Her hand slides down my stomach and wraps around me, and I groan. “You’re so hard.”

“Addison—”

“Shh.”

She strokes me, watching how I react as she pushes me onto my back and straddles me.

The candlelight catches her face, and she looks like a painting, all golden skin and blue-green eyes and that pretty smile I fell in love with.

She slides down my body, kissing my chest, my stomach, and the line of muscle that leads lower.

When her hot mouth wraps around my cock, I lose all thoughts.

She takes her time, the way I did with her, already knowing what makes me groan. Her tongue does something that makes me see stars, and I grip the sheets to stop myself from losing control.

“Addison.” Her name comes out strangled because if she keeps going, I’m going to fill her mouth.

Her legs are wrapped around my waist. When I position myself at her entrance, she pulls me closer with her heels.

“I love you,” she says as I hold her gaze.

Butterflies swarm inside me. “I love you too. So fucking much.”

I push inside her, and after everything we’ve been through, it’s overwhelming. She’s so tight, and I stop moving so we can live in this moment. Her eyes flutter closed, and her lips part.

“Okay?” I ask.

“Yes.” She opens her eyes. “You feel amazing.”

I start slow, pulling almost all the way out before pushing back in. Every thrust feels like coming home.

“You were made for me.”

She pulls me down for a kiss that’s all tongue and heat. I swallow the sound of her gasp against my lips, giving her more of what she wants. I go deep, wanting her to feel all of me.

“Right there.” She gasps. “Shit.”

Pleasure builds behind her eyes, and she bites her lip. This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed.

“I want to hear you,” I tell her.

Her cries fill the room, and her body tenses around me.

“Come for me, my queen,” I say against her ear.

She falls apart, crying out my name, and the feeling of her clenching pulls me over with her. I bury my face in her neck as I slam deep and pump into her. We’re shaking, gasping, and holding on to each other.

“That was”—she shakes her head—“mind-blowing.”

“One way to put it.”

We come down from our high and clean ourselves. Addison pulls me back to bed with her, and I pull her against my chest. As the candles burn low, she snuggles in close.

“Worth being banned from Montclaire?” I ask, knowing because Davis filled me in.

She laughs against my chest. “Definitely. Thank you for choosing me.”

“I’d do it again.” I run my fingers through her hair. “Growing up, I was told my marriage would be a transaction. Love wasn’t part of the deal.”

“And now?”

“Now I understand what my grandmother tried to tell me.” I tilt her chin up.

“Which was?”

I hold her gaze. “‘Real love isn’t always about what you gain. Sometimes, it’s about what you’re willing to lose.’ But losing you was never an option. I can’t hide us. I don’t want to.”

“When you say things like that …” she whispers.

“It’s the truth,” I say, kissing her forehead.

Within minutes, her breathing evens out, and she falls asleep against me. The candles burn down. The city hums outside. My body finally surrenders, and I close my eyes, holding on to the one thing I refused to give up.
