Glossary

Eejit Meaning: Idiot Usage: A classic Scottish insult. Usually reserved for someone acting daft or making a fool of themselves. Callum might mutter this under his breath, or toss it out with a grin when someone’s being ridiculous—affectionate or not depends on his mood.

Mo chroí (pronounced: muh kree) Meaning: My heart Usage: A tender Gaelic term of endearment. Deeper than just “love”—this means you are the very heart in my chest. When Callum lets this slip, you know it’s real.

Fecker Meaning: Someone annoying or troublesome Usage: An Irish-Scottish favorite. Not quite harsh, not quite kind. Callum might use this when someone’s testing his patience—or just being a lovable pain.

Mo shíorghra (pronounced: muh heer-uh-rah) Meaning: My eternal love Usage: Soul-deep and achingly romantic. Reserved for rare moments when Callum lets his guard down completely and speaks from a place that hurts in the best way.

Gobshite Meaning: Fool; someone who talks rubbish Usage: A vulgar, very informal insult—perfect for someone being obnoxious or just full of crap. Expect Callum to drop this when he’s had enough of someone’s nonsense.

A ghrá (pronounced: uh ghraw) Meaning: My love Usage: Soft, classic, and utterly sincere. It’s the kind of thing Callum says low and close, just for one person to hear.

Mo fhíorghra (pronounced: muh hee-ur-graw) Meaning: My true love Usage: A romantic phrase, often used as a term of endearment. Callum doesn’t use this often, but when he does, it highlights the sincerity and depth of his feelings for one person.
