The last years have been good for us and the Mafia in general.
Elli quickly took control of the women and children, creating a safer place for them within the Famiglia.
Men know not to abuse their wives or lovers, as there are consequences to those actions.
Mistresses are few and they are not looked upon with kindness.
Elli dislikes intensely the fact that any of the made men think of disrespecting their partners in such a way.
We have moved much of the operations to legal status, and it’s given a more peaceful and stable base to the family.
The few illegal things we run are to keep our enemies in our sights.
We have had no wars for years, and I intend to keep it that way.
Elli and I have two children, a son and a daughter.
I adore them both.
They are cheeky, spirited, and amusing.
Elli has been proactive in their upbringing, making sure they have a wide palette for food, but also for life skills.
They are both doing well academically and I see a bright future for them.
I was approached by a Don in Italy for my daughter's hand, an arranged marriage, but I put a stop to that before it could form roots.
Maybe I did get my wife that way, but my daughter can marry who she likes, and not some jackass who thinks she is a step toward a better future in the family.
Hearing a squeal of laughter, I turn and see Elli hosing down the kids.
They were in the flowerbed again with Yasmine and are filthy.
I stand and watch them for a moment, smiling at the scene.
This is a good life and I’m happy that Elli came to me, although she’s given me sass over the years.
Bruno is happily married to Tia.
They have three children, two girls and a boy.
Those girls have Bruno wrapped around their little fingers.
Tia still gives Bruno hell, but he doesn’t care one bit.
He kisses her and pats her ass as he sends her on her way when she gets too mouthy with him.
Bruno is teaching his son to take over his position, the same as I am teaching mine.
They are good friends and I’m thankful for that.
It will give them both security knowing they have each other.
Tiny met a woman who suits him well.
She is a tiny thing, who is timid, but in her shyness she has strength and although he doesn’t realize, she leads him by the nose.
They have twin boys and twin girls.
They are beautiful children but boisterous; they are a handful to look after.
They too are good friends with the other children and it’s fantastic to see them all playing together.
Aeron met his woman, and she takes no prisoners when it comes to her husband.
They have one son and she’s not having any more.
According to her, it’s not normal to push out something the size of a watermelon and then be expected to continue as normal.
She put Aeron on a no-sex ban until he agreed no more children.
He really has met his perfect partner and you can see how happy he is.
Philip has been the surprising one of us.
He met his perfect partner in Gareth.
Yeah, he really had been keeping that a secret.
Nobody gives a damn about it and we all love Gareth, who in turn, adores kids and kidnaps them all on a regular basis to have sleepovers.
Andre was shot and killed by his girlfriend.
Nobody knows exactly what happened, as she would not tell.
But the camera feeds show she was cheating on Andre; he found out and ended the relationship.
She didn’t want the breakup and when he wouldn’t agree to stay with her, she shot him.
But she was dealt with in the mausoleum basement, and we kept that bitch alive for three months.
She begged for death in the end, and I just hope Andre was waiting for her on the other side to send her to hell where she belonged.
I promoted TJ to become the Capo of Andre’s territory.
He’s a good made man; he has stepped up to being a great Capo and his men respect him immensely.
I’m happy he has found himself a good woman, one who has integrated well with Elli, Tia, and the other Capos' wives.
Lastly, Alex, Elli’s brother.
He is married to a feisty, red head who gives him hell on a regular basis.
They have two boys and are here with us at least twice a week.
They adore their Aunty Elli and she adores them.
It’s a fantastic thing to see Alex and Elli get the family they always wanted, and the love they both have shines every time you see them together.
“Nico?”
Turning from my desk, I look at Elli, who has walked into the office.
“What’s the matter?”
I ask because Elli looks worried.
Grinning, the grin that I know means I may not like what she has to say, I lift an eyebrow and wait for her response.
“I just thought you’d like to know we are pregnant again.”
That is not what I expected to hear, but I give a huge smile and dash around the desk, wrapping Elli into a hug right before kissing her senseless.
I'm living the life I always dreamed of, a life I never thought possible.
I made the right choice by establishing the family as a legitimate business.
My family's safety and security, and that of the Famiglia, have been worth every bit of hard work it has taken to achieve it.
