Chapter 24 #3

While he stoked an unimaginable fire at her breast with his tongue, she’d not noticed his hand slipping between her legs, until the press of his palm to the crux of her thighs made her moan with a sound she didn’t even know she could make.

The pleasure radiating from his caress as he rubbed at her, slid his finger inside her, was intense, enough to make her lose all thought and only feel.

As his fingers stroked her blazing flesh, he captured her mouth for a searing, possessive kiss.

Ava clung to her husband; having had no idea this was what making love could feel like.

She could hardly breathe, couldn’t make sense, couldn’t form words.

Mewls of pleasure issued from her parted lips as she clung to Gavan.

And as he caressed and dipped his fingers inside her over and over again, the pleasure mounted until she thought she’d die from it.

Just when she thought to beg him for relief, her body erupted in waves of rapture.

“Touch me,” Gavan groaned, guiding her hand to the thick, turgid flesh of his arousal.

Ava jerked back at first, shocked by how something so solid could also feel so velvety soft.

“I dinna know if…” she started, unsure how to finish. How to say she didn’t think they’d fit.

But Gavan only grinned. “I promise ye, ’twill bring ye pleasure.”

Ava nodded, letting her legs fall open. With his hand over hers, he guided the hard length of his shaft to slide against her folds, sending scorching delight rushing through her.

His chest pressed against hers, and his lips crashed on hers, demanding a heated kiss as his body slid against hers.

He didn’t push, not yet, but let her get used to the feel of his solid length pressed to her center.

As he slid over her, he stroked her everywhere, her breasts, her buttocks, her thighs, until she wasn’t sure she’d ever breathe normally again.

“Ye’re ready for me, love,” he said.

Ava nodded, more certain of that than anything else. She wanted more of what he had to give her. The tip of his arousal probed at her entrance, and Ava raised her hips.

He pulled away from their kiss, staring down at her. “There might be a little pinch,” he said, “but I swear it will only be good after.”

Ava nodded. She’d heard the talk of what happened between a man and a woman, and while it had not been formal, in fact, she’d been eavesdropping on a few of the maids, she understood what came next, and she trusted Gavan. She’d been too embarrassed to ask her friends. “I’m ready.”

Gavan distracted her with his kiss, tongue swirling over hers as he slowly started to push into her. At first, there was an uncomfortable pressure, but the deeper she kissed him, the more the discomfort melted away into need and pleasure.

When they finally came together fully, it was overwhelming. Too much and yet, not enough, years of longing condensed into a single, breathtaking moment that made her cling to him like she’d drown if she let go.

“Are ye all right?” he asked.

“Oh, aye,” she murmured. She shifted her hips at the weight of him buried deep inside her, the thickness of his arousal, the way her body seemed to pulse and thrum.

Gavan grinned, and then he was kissing her neck, withdrawing his body slowly away from hers and thrusting deep. Ava wrapped herself around him, while he kissed her, stroking his tongue against hers, nuzzling her neck, and then tugging at her earlobe with his teeth.

Ava explored her husband’s body too, with her mouth, her fingers. Stroking the muscles that rippled across his back as he made love to her. With every thrust and caress, pleasure rippled from between her thighs and spread through her limbs.

In the arms of her husband, Ava let herself be consumed by everything that was Gavan. This man, her husband, the love of her life. Every kiss, every touch, every breath, and murmured word only made her soar higher, her pleasure mounting.

She clung to him, her hips rising and falling with each of his rhythmic thrusts.

Gavan buried his face against her neck, his breath on her skin hot.

The pleasure inside her built, thrust after thrust. Breath after breath.

Until a shattering climax consumed her, convulsing through her entire body.

Her cry of pleasure echoed Gavan’s as her body tightened, and her husband shuddered over her.

“Ava,” he rasped, his forehead pressed to hers.

She could only whisper his name back, over and over, like it might keep them suspended in this perfect, impossible now.

He held her close, his chest still heaving, his lips pressing a kiss to her temple. “I meant what I said,” he murmured. “Every day of my life, Ava. I’ll make sure ye never doubt me.”

She smiled against his shoulder, tears pricking her eyes. “I love ye, Lord Darkwood.”

“And I love ye, Lady Darkwood,” he said, pulling her tighter into the warmth of his embrace.

And in the quiet, ivy-wrapped castle by the loch, Ava realized that lying here with Gavan, life had never before felt so complete.
