Epilogue Ethan #2

I cried out, my back arching off the bed as his tongue circled and teased.

The sensation was overwhelming. The wet heat and pressure always had me gasping his name like a prayer.

He worked me open with his mouth, his stubble scratching against my sensitive skin in a way that only added to the pleasure.

When he finally pulled back, I was panting, desperate, completely at his mercy. He reached for the lube on the nightstand, coating his fingers before sliding one inside me. I moaned at the intrusion, my body welcoming him eagerly.

"So fucking perfect," he murmured, watching my face as he worked a second finger in alongside the first. "I could watch you like this forever."

"Please," I whimpered, pushing back against his hand. "I'm ready. Don’t make me wait.”

He added a third finger, stretching me, making sure I could take him. The burn was delicious, and by the time he withdrew his fingers and lined himself up, I was practically sobbing with need.

Calder pushed in slowly, his eyes locked on mine as he filled me inch by inch. The stretch was intense, but the mate bond sang between us, turning any discomfort into pure pleasure. When he was fully seated, he paused, giving me time to adjust.

“Fuck that ass feels incredible,” he growled, his eyes shifting to gold.

"Move," I demanded, wrapping my legs around his waist. “Now.”

He didn't need to be told twice. He pulled out almost completely before slamming back in, setting a brutal pace that had the headboard knocking against the wall. I met him thrust for thrust, my nails raking down his back as he hit that spot inside me that made me see heaven.

"Fuck, Ethan," he growled, his voice rough with pleasure. "You feel so fucking good."

His hand wrapped around my cock, stroking in time with his thrusts. The dual sensation was too much, pleasure building at the base of my spine until I couldn't hold back anymore.

"Calder, I'm—"

"Cum for me, mate."

It only took a few strokes before I did, spilling over his hand and my stomach with a cry that probably echoed through the entire cabin.

My body clenched around him, and he followed seconds later, burying himself deep as he came inside me with a roar that sounded more wolf than man.

Heat filled my belly as he throbbed inside me.

I pulled him tight against me, wanting every last drop.

We collapsed together, both breathing hard, our bodies slick with sweat. Calder pressed lazy kisses to my shoulder, my neck, anywhere he could reach without moving too much.

"Think the neighbors heard that?" I asked when I could finally form words.

He laughed, the sound rumbling through his chest. "What neighbors? We're in the middle of nowhere."

"Good point." I couldn’t help a smile. “Perks of a cabin in the middle of the woods I guess.”

We lay there for a few more minutes, content and sated, until reality started creeping back in. I glanced at the clock on the nightstand and groaned.

"We have forty-five minutes to shower and get to the restaurant."

Calder lifted his head, looking entirely too pleased with himself. "Better hurry then."

"This is your fault," I muttered, even as I couldn't stop the smile spreading across my face.

"Worth it." He leaned down to kiss me. “If I could be inside you all the time, I would. You have the best ass.”

“Well now you’re just trying to butter me up.”

“Was it enough to get a round two?” He waggled his eyebrows at me. “A quick one?”

“There’s no such thing as a quick round two with you,” I laughed. “So unless you want to call my mom and cancel, we should get going.”

A look of fear crossed his face. “Nope. We should definitely get ready.”

We scrambled to get around, sharing a quick shower that almost turned into round two by accident before I reminded him that showing up late and disheveled to dinner with my mother was not an option. By the time we were dressed and heading out the door, we had exactly ten minutes to spare.

Calder drove while I tried to make my still-wet hair look presentable in the visor mirror. It was a losing battle, but at least I didn't look completely wrecked.

"Your mom's not gonna know," Calder said, glancing over at me with amusement.

"She is very observant,” I argued. “And she doesn't need to know the details of our sex life."

"Your hair is fine, baby.” He reached over, pulling me into another kiss. “But you do have that freshly fucked glow."

I punched his arm lightly, but I was smiling.

Because he was right—I probably did. And honestly?

I didn't care. For the first time in years, I was happy.

Truly, deeply happy. The weight of my father's death would always be with me, but it no longer defined me.

I had a future now, one with Calder by my side.

We pulled into the restaurant parking lot with two minutes to spare. My mom was already waiting by the entrance, and when she saw us, her entire face lit up. She pulled me into a tight hug, then surprised me by hugging Calder too.

"I'm so glad you boys could make it," she said, her eyes a little misty already.

"Wouldn't miss it," I replied, squeezing her hand.

“How did the trip to the woods go?” she asked, wiping her eyes before tears could fall.

“Good,” I nodded. “Really good.”

She hugged me again. “I’m glad.” Then she pulled back, sniffing and shaking her head. “Sorry. It’s the dry air,” she lied. “You boys must be hungry. Let’s get inside before we freeze our butts off.”

As we walked inside together, Calder's hand found mine, our fingers intertwining naturally. My mom noticed, of course, but she just smiled. It was that knowing, motherly smile that said she approved completely.

“So when are you two getting married?” she asked.

Calder turned white as a sheet in an instant. I just laughed. “Not for a while, Mom. We’ve only been dating a couple of months.”

“Yeah, but he’s the right one,” she continued, giving Calder a wink. “I can tell.”

“Thank you?” Calder replied, his voice shaking. Out of all the things that could’ve scared him, it was marriage that made him shake in his boots.

“And when am I getting grandchildren?”

I felt Calder nearly go limp beside me.

“Alright,” I laughed, pushing her toward the hostess. “Cool it, woman.” I turned back to Calder, grabbing his hand. “She’s just kidding.”

“Is she?” He looked horrified.

“I think so. I don’t want kids anyway.” I paused for a moment. “But we could get a dog.”

He relaxed, breathing a long sigh of relief. “I can deal with a dog.” Then he added in a low whisper, “I can yell at it in its own language.”

I burst out laughing at that. Mom turned back, smiling even though she hadn’t heard the joke. She really was happy for us.

If I hadn’t been sure before, I was now. Everything was going to be okay. Better than okay. For the first time in a long time, the world felt right.

And I had my werewolf. My secret mate.
