Chapter 33 Justin #3

Tate was right, and if that wasn’t an eyeopener that I had fucked up, I didn’t know what was.

As much as I tried to control myself, I couldn’t help looking over to the table at Ava.

From the angle we were sitting at, her and her sister’s backs were facing us and the dudes they were entertaining were facing us.

The dude that was sitting across from Ava caught me staring at them and gave me a mean mug.

I looked away quickly, but when I looked back their way, he was still muggin’ me. At that point, I had lost it.

“Hold up, I’ma be right back,” I said, sliding out of my seat then turned to head in their direction.

“Yo, what you doin’, bro?!” Tate asked, getting out of his seat. He reached out and grabbed my arm trying to stop me, but I snatched away and proceeded to head to their table anyway. The whole time, dude was looking at me crazy, and Tate was following behind me.

I was about two tables away when Ava and Dawn both turned around in their seats. Ava and Dawn both had disgusted looks on their faces.

“What the hell are you doing here, Justin?” Ava spat, standing up from her seat.

When she stood up, everyone else at her table stood up.

“I should be asking you the same question! So, this is what you’re on, huh! You went out and divorced me to move on with this nigga!” I sneered, looking from her to dude.

The alcohol that I had drunk was starting to give me all the courage I needed to confront them all.

“Watch yourself, bruh!” dude said.

“Justin, you need to take your tired ass on,” Dawn interrupted, causing me to mean mug her. Before I could say anything to her, the other guy at the table chimed in.

“Bruh, this ain’t what you want. Real talk, nigga, take ya ass back to wherever you came from before you get yourself fucked up!”

“Fuck you, motherfucker! You don’t know me! You don’t know shit about me, nigga!” I snapped back at dude, then looked at Ava. “We need to talk?”

“Come on, bro, this ain’t the place for all this?” Tate said, grabbing me by the arm.

Snatching away from him, I continued to look at Ava. “Step outside with me for a second so that we can talk right quick.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you, Justin. We don’t have shit to talk about,” Ava started as Dawn cut in.

“Take yo ass on with your lover Tate, ya nasty booty motherfuckers and get from around here.”

“Who the fuck you think you talkin’ to, Dawn? I ain’t said shit to you for you to be gettin’ smart with me! This is between me and my—”

“Your ex! Ava is your EX, and my lady, nigga. I told you that shit the other night. Now, if you don’t want to get you and your girlfriend’s asses kicked up in here, you’ll listen to what the ladies said and take your ass on!”

“Come on, J, it’s not worth it,” Tate tried to reason.

“Man, fuck that! Ava, you gon’ sit there and let these motherfuckers come at me like that?”

Before I could say anything else, the guys at her table had stepped in my personal space like they were gonna do something to me, causing Tate to step between me and them.

“Look, he is just upset. Y’all can chill,” Tate tried to reason, but I wasn’t hearing it.

“If y’all feelin’ froggy, niggas, leap!” I yelled, and before I could say anything else, I was swept off my feet by my neck so quickly that at first, I didn’t know who had put their hands on me.

“Motherfucker, I tried to warn you!” dude said. “Now, I’m about to beat that ass!” He continued to talk shit as he airlifted me by the neck out of the restaurant.

Once we made it outside… I mean, as soon as we hit the other side of the door, it went down.

At first, I was giving dude a good go, but then I lost my footing, and with my bad hip, the next thing I knew, he had me on the ground and was beating my ass.

A small crowd had formed around us, and I wasn’t sure who or how they got dude off of me.

All I knew was that once he stopped raining punches at me, I was able to collect myself.

Tate was there trying to help me off the ground.

Once I got to my feet, I saw that the other dude that was sitting at the table with them was holding ol’ boy back along with three waiters.

Ava and Dawn were also there, ranting and raving, talking all types of shit that I could barely make out because my head was ringing in pain.

“Let’s go, Justin. Now!” Tate yelled, pulling me in the opposite direction that the crowd was in.

I allowed him to pull me out of there because I wasn’t trying to get into another physical fight, but I made it a point to talk shit all the way to the valet.

“You foul as fuck for that shit, Ava!” I shouted, pointing at her with my free hand as Tate continued to pull me by the other arm. “You know you not right! How could you do this?” I continued to talk my shit.

I was in my feelings something serious, but at the same time, this new feeling washed over me.

I knew at that moment that Ava was gone for good.

I could tell by the look in her face that I had fucked up royally and my chances at us ever being cool again were slim to none.

If I was going to get Ava back, I was going to have to step my game up all the way.

Tate was right earlier when he said it was time for me to start accepting shit.

Now that I had accepted that Ava had a new man in her life, it had become very clear what I needed to do next.

Ava was over that Justin that she used to know…

the one that let her down. But the new Justin that was about to evolve was gonna get her attention one way or another.
