24. Gabriel #2
I was too fired up to manage anything polite by that point, and I stalked off through the crowd, not caring what Roman Sterling thought about me or my behavior.
Alejandro caught up to me, his tone too light and too knowing when he said, “Something wrong, Gabriel?”
“Why were you trying to make me jealous?” I said through gritted teeth, keeping my voice low as I headed for the nearest exit door.
“Trying?” Alejandro gave a low chuckle. “I didn’t need to try. You are jealous.”
I shook my head, wanting to deny it, but every nerve ending in my body was sparking, ready to light this place on fire.
Alejandro reached for my arm but missed and caught my hand instead, and I was so shocked that I didn’t fight it when he turned me to face him.
The smartass smirk was gone. “Don’t act like you weren’t doing the same thing all night. How’s Lacey?”
“What?”
“You think I didn’t notice you going out of your way to talk to everyone tonight but me?”
A photo flash went off in my periphery, but I ignored it as I reared back from Alejandro, jerking out of his grasp. “Don’t try to turn this around on me.”
“Just stating the obvious.” Another flash went off, and like we both realized there were too many potential eyes on us, we bolted for the door. Neither of us said another word, but I was sure my face was saying enough, even as I tried not to be so pissed off.
It was irrational, I knew that. But then he’d gone and tried to gaslight me, and I was about ready to burst.
I didn’t know where we were, only that we’d somehow veered off from the main event and found ourselves down a dark hall, but even that was still too open for my mood.
I shoved through the first door we came to, bursting into the dark library that was thankfully empty.
With the moonlight faintly streaming inside from high windows, I could see enough of Alejandro to make out his scowl, and for a moment, I faltered.
He’d been laughing with Roman. Scowling with me. That wasn’t the way this was supposed to go.
Alejandro leaned back against the door and crossed his arms. “You broke the rules.”
That was what he wanted to say to me? No apology?
I stalked back toward him, and I hated, hated how damn good he looked staring me down with a clear challenge in his eyes.
“Figures you wouldn’t own up to your part in this,” I said, closing the gap between us, the toes of my shoes knocking his. “Why can’t you just fucking admit it?”
Alejandro pushed off the door, forcing me to back up a step.
“What exactly is it you want here, huh? To admit that it pissed me off that you gave everyone a piece of you tonight but me? That I saw Roman and figured, what the hell? Why not see if it forced your hand? Guess what?” He leaned in close.
“It worked. So what are you gonna do about it?”
My mouth parted, but no words came out, not when he’d just obliterated any argument I could’ve made.
I wasn’t the only one who was jealous, and I knew exactly what that meant. What both of us were refusing to say, even though it had been building over the last few weeks to the point where we couldn’t deny it.
This thing between us wasn’t just a few casual hookups. Not anymore. Not when I woke up every morning in his bed or with him in mine and sought him out between royal duties, not just for his body but his company.
I was out of my head crazy about Alejandro.
It hit me like a sledgehammer to the chest, cracking me open, and I reacted the only way I knew how.
I slammed my mouth down on his, the force of everything I was feeling pouring into him. He grabbed me, not to push me away, but to haul me in closer, tight arms wrapping around me and his lips hungry on mine.
It all happened so fast then.
Alejandro’s back hitting the wall. Our hands roaming everywhere as our dicks pressed up against each other despite layers of clothing separating us. His teeth capturing my lower lip between them before he sucked it into his mouth and made me moan.
I was taken over by the need to claim this man as mine, since I couldn’t say it, and my fingers fell to his waist to undo his belt…unfasten his pants…
“Gabriel,” he whispered, threading his hands through my hair to hold me where he wanted me and kissing me so hard and deep I felt my head swim.
He was telling me. I could feel it. We didn’t need words right now, we just needed each other, to feel that wholeness that only happened when we were together.
Our tongues tangled as I shoved his pants and briefs down over his ass and reached between us to wrap my hand around his rock-hard cock. God, he was sexy. His pre-cum was already making a mess of my fist, and I’d barely touched him.
He groaned into my mouth, and I swallowed the sound, hungrier for more. And because I was a greedy bastard, I took it.
I was on my knees in a heartbeat, Alejandro’s dick between my lips the next.
“Fuck. Gabriel…” He sucked in a breath, threading his fingers through my hair as he looked down at me on my knees for him.
This was my place, exactly where I wanted to be. Every time I took him down my throat, the word “mine” played on a loop inside my brain, like I was branding him somehow, making it so that he could never be with anyone else because no one would worship his body the way I would.
Alejandro’s fingers tightened in my hair, his hips shoving forward, making me take every inch of him. His body was trembling beneath my touch in a way I hadn’t felt since we’d been together, and it erased any doubt I had that he wasn’t feeling the same way I was.
This was more. We were more.
Mine.
I drew off him, my tongue circling and teasing the head of his erection as I cupped his balls. When I looked up at him from beneath hooded eyes, the expression I saw had my heart flipping over itself.
Possession.
There was no mistaking what I saw in those dark brown depths that looked at me like I belonged to him and he’d kill anyone who got between us.
Fuck me. That was the hottest thing I’d ever seen, and it only made my dick strain even more against the tight fit of my briefs.
But I wasn’t out for my own pleasure; I only wanted Alejandro’s.
Needed it in a way that wouldn’t be sated until his cum was down my throat and he fell to his knees from the force of it.
Already his breaths were coming in short, quick pants, and when his entire body went rigid, I knew he was close.
With our eyes locked on one another, no words were needed. I sucked him to an explosive climax, one that had him biting his fist so he wouldn’t shout my name. I still heard it, though, ripped out of him as I swallowed every bit of his release.
Mine. There it was again, four letters that felt like they should be a flashing imprint across his chest. And they would be, if I had anything to do with it.
When I finally drew off him, I rested my head against Alejandro’s stomach, and he held me there, running his fingers softly through my hair as our breathing began to even out, all the anger and jealousy settling into something altogether different.
Over the blood rushing in my ears, the sound of music from the event we’d all but run out of could be heard, faintly, but it didn’t matter who else was there, because in this moment, the two of us were together—finally on the same page for once, though neither of us said a word.
I didn’t know how it happened. I didn’t know when. I only knew that somewhere along the way I’d fallen hard for Alejandro de la Vega…the man who’d been meant for my brother, but couldn’t be more perfect for me.
