Chapter Fifteen

March eighth

Wolfgang ‘Hey, how is work?’

Juniper ‘My days are longer, we’re getting a lot more alterations and I think I’m starting to miss you.’

Wolfgang ‘Can I see you this weekend?’

Wolfgang ‘I miss you.’

Juniper ‘Yes.’

Wolfgang ‘I could take you to another cool spot. There’s some caves by the beach.’

Juniper ‘That sounds nice.’

Wolfgang ‘Great, I’ll pick you up Saturday.’

March Eleventh

Juniper

“Where are you off to?”

Brittanya asked June as she passed through the living room in a tee shirt and jean shorts.

“Wolfie is taking me on a date, to some caves or something.”

She set down her bag on the couch and tightened her ponytail.

“Oh, that sounds fun, where’s Whitney? I feel like I haven’t seen her in days.”

“Fade’s, you missed her yesterday when she stopped by for clothes. I would say they should just move in together already but I would miss her.”

Brittanya trailed into the kitchen to place her cup in the sink and switch her laundry.

June applied her lip balm aggressively as the door knocked next to her and opened it. “Hey.”

She smiled up to him as he leaned down to kiss her. After separating lips she stepped back and grabbed her bag draped on the couch.

“Hey.”

He waved back to Brittanya as she emerged from the kitchen.

“Hey Wolfie, how are you?”

She smiled walking towards them.

“Good, I’m just taking June out.”

“Fun, you guys be safe.”

June turned to the opened door following Wolfie. “Bye!”

The door closed behind them.

“You look nice.”

His hand grazed her back.

“So do you.”

Wolfie stopped and kissed her again before she climbed into the Jeep. “Thank you.”

She responded as he opened the door. She turned to grab the handle as lift herself and June felt a smack on her butt. “Excuse me?”

She said surprised as her bottom met the seat.

“Couldn’t help it.”

He cocked an eyebrow and ran a hand through his hair and closed the door.

Wolfie started the vehicle, “Did you get a haircut?”

June examined his hair.

“Yes, I saw Brittanya yesterday after work.”

“Oh, it looks good.”

“Thank you. How is work going? Are you guys getting busy with the ball?”

His eyes flickered between being on June and on the road.

“Yes, mostly alterations though.”

“Have you figured out what dress you were going to wear to the ball?”

“I have some ideas, I may have to stay late if I want a completely new one.”

Wolfie reached over and placed his hand on her bare thigh. He headed down the same windy road as when they went to the beach and June had a moment with the wind in her hair and the sun against her face, a moment of peace. She felt as if nothing could bother her, she had let go. The radio softly played as Wolfie’s fingers were tacky against her thigh. “Can we make a quick stop?”

He bellowed over the wind and the radio.

“Yeah?”

She looked around confused about what it could be.

He turned left off the main road onto a dirt one and not far ahead put the car in park in front of a small cemetery. “You can come if you want, I’ll be quick but I’d enjoy your company.”

“Okay,”

June unbuckled herself as Wolfie reached in the back and pulled out a bouquet from Amy’s garden. She stepped down and for the first time didn’t get scolded. Wolfie’s free hand found hers and they walked side by side through a fenced area, it was beautiful. The grass was almost overgrown, topical trees shaded the small headstones throughout. They wandered through the few stones until he stopped June at one. ‘Brigham Odell Montgomery’ was engraved on the small round stone, dates were carved under his name along the bottom and she noted tomorrow was his birthday.

Wolfie knelt down grabbing the old wilted bouquet, “Hey dad.”

He muttered and set the new flowers in front of it, “Just stopping to say hi.”

June looked at the birds squawking above them. “I brought June with me this time, wish you could have met her.”

June placed her hand on his back in an attempt to comfort him as he paused, “I’ll try not to be a stranger, see you later.”

He kissed his hand and placed it on the rock and June’s throat tightened as she gazed around awkwardly remembering her family had no resting place and she never got somewhere to visit them. Wolfie stood and tossed the old flowers in the tin trash barrel next to the entrance on their way out.

“Thank you Juniper.”

He wrapped his arms around her and carefully placed his lips on hers, “It never gets easier coming here, but you sure made a difference.”

“So it seemed there was no need for an introduction. Did you already tell your dad about me?”

“Maybe.”

He tucked a few stray hairs of June’s behind her ear.

“Before your mother?”

The side of his lip rose, “Alright let's go have some fun.”

He hopped back on the main road and before turning to the beach, pulled off again on a dirt trail. June wasn’t holding on like before, she had more trust in him. Her feeling of her mind being calm continued and felt as if it showed. They came to a stop in a clearing between a thick of trees and the ocean glittered in the near distance. “It’s a small hike, I hope you don't mind.”

“No.”

She shook her head.

Outside of his vehicle he slung a bag over his shoulders and sighed, “I should have told you to wear better shoes, sandals will be fine for the first part. We can go barefoot the rest.”

June stuck her bottom lip out and looked at her shoes, “You told me we were going to caves at the beach.”

“I know, it won't be bad, I’ll take my shoes off too.”

He was sporting some leisurely loafers.

“Okay,”

She followed him towards a few boulders sitting against the shore and felt the salty breeze hit her face and roll through her hair. The sand slid in and fell out of her sandals with each step along the beach.

“Hmmm,”

He stopped in his tracks as they hit the bottom of the big rocks, “I’m wondering if I should go first because it’s kind of tricky up there. Then I can pull you up.”

He raked his fingers through his beard and then smoothed it together.

“Okay, whatever you think will work.”

He took his shoes off and set them in his backpack. “Shoes.”

Wolfgang demanded June’s and she kicked them off into the sand. He swooped down and grabbed them before she had the chance. June watched as he began to climb the not so steep rock before he sat on the edge, she followed his steps up the grooved rock and reached out for his hand so he could pull her up.

“Whoa,”

She exhaled as she got her footing, “This is beautiful.”

Not too far she saw the beach they once visited and the ocean stretched out forever.

“Well, we aren’t there yet Juniper.”

He stood next to her, “Come this way.”

He led her across the flat top of the rock towards a worn out hole big enough to slide into. A rope was secured to another rock and fell into the hole. “Alright, I’m going to go first so I can catch you if you fall.”

Wolfgang sat and dangled his legs into the hole, “You trust me right?”

“Yes.”

She stood over him looking down the hole. He nodded and grabbed the rope, disappearing into the hole. She balanced herself on all fours watching him grapple down the knotted rope, realizing it wasn’t that deep, “Ready?”

His voice echoed with waves caressing the interior of the stone.

“I think so,”

She gripped the rope, laid on her stomach and copied his movement. June paced down the rope, feeling Wolfgang’s hands along her waist to help and her bare feet pressed against the cool wet rock. Wolfie’s hands caressed her sides, stabilizing her as she let go of the rope. The cave was small, more like a hollowed out boulder. The top of rock was about seven feet and the bottom tapered into an opening of the ocean leaving a few feet along the top of dry sandy rock. June assumed the tide consumed the whole thing at night.

Wolfie pulled his shirt over his head exposing his chest and placed it next to the backpack in the dry area. “It’s cool in here.”

June jumped at her voice ricocheting off the walls.

He smiled in amusement, “You okay?”

“Yes,”

June took her tee shirt off, “How do you find these places?”

“Well, like I said before, I did a lot of exploring when my dad passed.”

“Oh, yeah, you found all the good spots.”

She dropped her shorts as well, putting them on his back pack. Her feet hit the water after Wolfie's and was surprised that the temperature wasn’t much cooler than the ocean for being in an unnatural cave. She sat in the shallow water letting the waves ripple up her body.

Wolfie squatted to join her, accidentally flicking up water with his foot at her, “Don’t splash me.”

She begged firmly, reminding him of their beach date.

“I didn’t plan on it.”

He smirked. Their bare arms grazed each other, both of them staring out at the ocean pulsing. “How do you always look so beautiful?”

She felt his eyes on her.

“It’s a lot of work.”

June teased him, She hadn’t done much to her appearance for this date.

Wolfgang's laugh roared in their surroundings, “I doubt that, I’ve seen you in the mornings, I’ve seen you after a shower, I’ve seen you after a long day at work and you always look amazing.”

“Thank you.”

She gazed out, as her toes made small waves with motions and looked at Wolfie staring at her. He reached down, grasping her jaw and pulling her up to him. They locked lips and his wet hand ran down her side rolling her onto his lap, not letting either of them pull away. June’s hand swerved from his beard and to his chest, the other drifted over his shoulder, circling his back muscles feeling them move under each finger.

The gravitational pull was taking over and June couldn’t resist anymore. She wanted him and felt incredibly attracted to him. Straddling him, She could feel him harden under his shorts.

He firmly grabbed her waist, pushing her into him, as if he was in pain and exhaled through his nose. His lips surrendered hers, “June, my body screams for yours and whenever you want, I’m ready for you.”

Her eyes fluttered down to his as they exchanged bedroom eyes and yanked his head back to hers breaking their top and bottom lips apart, colliding their tongues. She thrust her body against his, clinging to his shoulders and chest in hope that he would get the approval. The texture of his sparse stomach hair scratched against her bare stomach. The small fire that lit the passion, suddenly roared, June wanted him and she could tell he wanted her.

Wolfgang’s finger tips grazed up her back and suddenly her bikini strings began to be pulled on. Barely parting their lips, Wolfie questioned, “You sure?”

“Mhmm.”

She groaned with a nod and after a moment of pressure from the pull, she instantly was free perking at the bristle of his chest hair against her breast. Wolfie tossed her top towards his bag and divided their bodies with his nervous hands, to see her, filling each hand with Juniper. She bit her lip, knees digging into the rock and watching him study her body. His eyes filled with desire, lips raw from passion, found Juniper's worried gaze.

“What?”

wondering if he had misread what she had said.

“Are they okay?”

He scoffed, “Are you kidding me?”

Wolfgang’s eyes retreated and held no eye contact, watching his hands slide down her sides, revealing her breasts that were perfect to him. “Now I want to see the rest of your body.”

June felt him stiffen under her. She dismissed the thought that she had only heard negative remarks from Ben in the last few years and she wasn’t letting him control anything she had with Wolfie. Their faces returned to each other, June’s nose nudged his, while his hands found the strings dancing around her hips in the water. She felt his hesitation and then his hands began to retreat. June immediately overpowered him and anything in her path, grabbing fingers and strings then pulled, untying her bottoms for him. He slid out the material from between them, tossed it behind them that left them with a soggy plop noise. The water was cool between her legs and along her lips as they also began to tickle against the fabric of his shorts.

Wolfie’s lips traveled from hers, going down her neck and along her collarbone before returning with more passion. His hands moved from her back, to her sides, to her thighs, to her ass, like he couldn’t decide where to put them. June pulled away looking at him and his eyes worked up her body and locked with hers, “Why am I the only one naked?”

She slyly grinned.

Wolfie apologized and threw her in the air with one arm while wiping his shorts off with the other. Their clothes sat in a pile together. “If you’re uncomfortable, just tell me and I’ll stop. Are you sure you’re ready?”

“Are you sure you’re ready?”

She teased back with a smile. “Let’s move out of the water.”

June directed him while taking him in, visually impressing her. After a few awkward movements June re-saddled him and prepared herself.

She kissed him softly as his hands found her body again. “Now?”

He asked between kisses and June nodded in agreement, now would be perfect. Her body throbbed and June’s hand dove between her legs, feeling him for the first time while lining him up to her. One slow, bashful thrust entered her body as she lowered onto Wolfie. His eyes relaxed in ecstasy and a sharp gasp entered June’s lungs as she felt all of him.

*****

“Goodnight Juniper.”

He kissed her on her front porch, holding her tight to him.

June barely left his lips, “Goodnight Wolfgang.”

She pressed her lips and her body to him and his head cradled the back of her head not wanting to leave.

Whitney’s laugh carried through the front door and in between the two. Wolfie gripped June with both hands with all the self control he had left, breaking away, “I should go.”

June stepped back in agreement holding his gaze. “Goodnight.”

She left him with a peck.

“Goodnight.”

He turned slowly to leave as June closed the door behind her. She floated inside and exhaled.

“Hey,”

Brittanya looked up from the little notes she had for the wedding. “How was your date?”

Whitney looked up with her, “Holy shit, looks like it went well. You got beard burn across your face.”

“What is beard burn?”

June touched her chin as she set her bag on the couch next to the door.

“Did you and Wolfie do some major making out?”

Whitney continued to stare.

“Maybe.”

She bit her lip trying to keep from smiling and keeping her distance. Lying was not a strong point of June’s.

“Did you guys go farther?”

Whitney stood to approach June.

“Nope.”

She bluntly replied as her cheeks blushed.

Whitney took three large steps to her, “You guys got it on!”

“Whitney.”

Brittanya laughed from the table. “We don’t want the neighbors hearing.”

“I wanna know everything.”

She grabbed June who felt helpless.

“No.”

She whined while Whitney forced her on the couch.

“Juniper Rose Jensen, you have no choice.”

She sat next to her.

June stared at her, “That’s not my middle name.”

Brittanya followed them to the couch, “She used your full name, you better do it.”

“In this house, we kiss and tell June.”

“Does that mean Brittanya will have to kiss and tell too?”

“She better, when she finds someone good enough for her.”

Whitney stared down June who just stared at their reflection on the television.

“Alright,”

She held her breath, “We did it.”

Whitney squealed a high pitch noise. “How was it?”

She shook June. “Was it good? Was it awkward? Was he awkward after? I could totally see him being awkward after.”

June exhaled, “Yes, it was good. It wasn’t awkward at all and I was not thinking it would be. Was it awkward with you and Fade your first time?”

“Uh, a little.”

She said shamelessly. “Did you guys,”

She furrowed her brow, “use protection?”

“It was spur of the moment, what do you think?”

It had crossed June’s mind that it would have been smart to use protection, but she didn’t know what the protocol on the island was or what was available. She had also thought about how they had both had few previous partners and wasn’t worried about spreading anything.

“Jun-i-per”

Whitney sounded out her name.

“What? My ex and I didn’t use protection and I got tested before I came here.”

Brittanya spoke up, “What if you get pregnant?”

“Oh,”

June understood, “My ex and I didn’t use protection.”

She explained again, “I’m probably not able to. I stopped worrying about it.”

“Every couple is different. What if it was your ex?”

Brittanya stared at June concerned as she sat quietly, “When was your last period?”

“I stopped having periods a year or two ago.”

“You can still get pregnant, it happened to me,”

Whitney turned the conversation towards her.

“What?”

Brittanya was baffled.

“Yeah, I stopped having periods before I came here, this was back when I was a stripper, and I slept with a client after work. He paid for my abortion.”

Whitney became grim. “I can tell you more about that later though, please be safe from here.”

She held eye contact with June, “If you need to go to the gynecologist or any doctor, let us know, we can go with you.”

Brittanya nodded, confirming.

“Thanks guys,”

June stood, “Now I am worried.”

“Don’t stress about it, stress makes it worse.”

She stood and hugged June, “Just be safe next time, and the next time, and the next. Until you’re really committed.”

Whitney stood and hugged both of them. “I love you both.”

She smiled, “June will you design my wedding dress?”

“I would be honored.”

She freed herself from the huddle. “When is the date?”

“We are thinking maybe spring of next year. We’ll talk about it more when it gets closer.”

“And I get to do your hair.”

Brittanya demanded.

“Alright,”

June stepped away grabbing her bag, “I should go shower and go to bed.”

“Goodnight”
