A month later
Ghost and I were still going strong. I had yet to invite Brielle back to work.
Things were confusing. I guess it was safe to say that she wouldn’t be returning.
Temporarily, I hired a new assistant just until I figured out what I wanted to do.
Since she was new and I didn’t trust her, I kept her out of all my affairs.
The only thing she handled was work stuff.
Brielle had been working for me ever since I opened Luxury Acquisitions.
I hate I had to let her go the way I had, but she steady kept saying that she didn’t have anything to do with the fakes.
Since I found out, Savion told me not to change up how I did things, just in case whoever was helping Brielle slipped up, and we could catch them.
Ghost had been on me so long that I was growing used to having him around. It was becoming my everyday life.
I stared at him through the glass as he stood there, staring off into space. Crystal sat at her desk, eyeing him as if he was a piece of meat. My meat.
Picking up my phone, I dialed her desk and watched her as she grabbed the phone.
“Yes, Ms. Saint-Mercier?”
“I need you to go out and grab my dry cleaning and pick me up something for lunch.”
“May I ask what you would want for lunch?”
“That’s something that you should already know,” I told her and ended the call.
She hurriedly grabbed her belongings and rushed from behind the desk to the elevator. Ghost watched her as she got on and then turned his attention to me. I beckoned for him to enter my office.
The click of the door locking behind him sent a jolt of electricity straight to my thighs. He was standing all the way over there by the door, but the scent of his expensive cologne circled my head.
I watched him as he walked toward the office window that divided me and the lobby.
With a decisive snap, he pulled the cord, shutting the blinds.
The sudden privacy made my breath hitch.
I leaned back in my chair, spreading my legs slightly, the fabric of my pencil skirt riding up to reveal the tops of my stockings.
“How do you know this what I called you in here for?”
He didn’t answer with words. Instead, he rounded the desk, his footsteps heavy and purposeful on the carpet. When he reached me, he didn’t stop until his thighs were pressing against the armrests of my chair, trapping me. He leaned down, his hot breath ghosting over my ear.
“I think we both know what you called me in here for.”
His hand slid down my neck, his thumb pressing firmly into my jawline to tilt my head back. He crashed his lips onto mine, a hungry, demanding kiss that tasted of mint and desperation. I groaned into his mouth, my hands flying up to grip his shoulders, pulling him closer. I wanted him inside me.
He broke the kiss just long enough to reach down, his fingers hooking into the waistband of my lace panties. With one swift tug, he ripped them aside, exposing my soaking wet pussy to the cool air of the office. He let out a low hiss of approval when he felt how drenched I was.
“Look at you,” he whispered, his voice thick. “Dripping for me while you’re sitting at your desk. Bad girl.”
He didn’t waste another second. He fumbled with his belt and zipper, his dick springing free—thick, veiny, and pulsing. I reached out, my fingers wrapping around him, squeezing tight. He groaned; his head fell back for a moment before he gripped my hips and hoisted me up.
I wrapped my legs around his waist, my skirt bunched up around my hips, and he slammed his dick deep into my pussy in one powerful thrust. “Fuck!” I screamed into his shoulder, my back arching as he filled me completely, hitting my cervix with a blunt force that made my toes curl.
He began to fuck me with a primal intensity, his hips slamming against mine with a rhythm that echoed through the quiet office.
I clung to him, my nails digging into his back, my pussy clamping tight around him with every thrust. The friction was incredible; I could feel the heat building, a tight knot of pleasure winding tighter in my gut.
“Fuck, you’re so tight.” He gasped, his pace increasing. He shifted his grip, holding me up by the thighs as he drove himself deeper, each stroke pushing me further back into the chair.
I was losing it. The sensation of his dick stretching me open, combined with the thrill of being fucked in the place where I usually commanded everyone, pushed me over the edge. My internal muscles spasmed, clamping down on him in violent waves.
“I’m cumming! Oh God, I’m cumming!”
The knock at my office door halted me. Ghost’s seeds sprayed inside me, and I could feel his heartbeat. He slipped out of me, and I pushed him down underneath the desk before pulling my panties back up.
I just knew Crystal’s ass hadn’t made it back to the office that damn fast. And whoever was standing on the other side of the door, did they hear me?
My heart banged against my ribcage as I made my way over to the door. Glancing over my shoulder, I checked to make sure Ghost was nowhere in sight before I pulled the door open and was met by Solei’s face.
“What are you doing here?” I asked her, blocking the door so that she couldn’t get in.
“Damn, I didn’t know I needed a reason to come and see my sister.” She peeked over my shoulder. “What were you doing in there? Where’s Ghost?”
“I sent him to go and get me some coffee.”
Her brow arched. “And he left you alone up here?”
“He won’t be gone long. What do you want, Sol?”
“I’ll keep you company ’til he comes back.” She shoved the door, and I nudged her ass back. “Hey, Ghost,” she said with a snicker, and like a dummy, he lifted his head from behind the desk. I pinched the bridge of my nose.
“Unbelievable.”
Sighing, I released the door and went over to my chair. Ghost slipped past me and exited out of the office.
Solei grinned as she made her way over to the chair in front of my desk. “So, what is it like?”
“I’m not going there with you.”
“Whatever.” She waved me off.
Solei sat there with me until Crystal returned with my lunch.
“That food smells good. You’re making my stomach growl.”
“I would offer you some, but I only have enough for me.” I poked my tongue out at her, and she lifted to her feet.
“Stingy ass mufucka,” she said as she headed for the door.
Solei shut the door behind her, allowing me to eat my food in peace.
“You know you get on my nerves, right?”
Ghost grinned as he reached around me to turn off the light in my office.
“You love me.”
I rolled my eyes at him signing.
“Unfortunately.”
His grin widened.
“Say it.”
“No.”
“Please. I just want to hear you say it.”
“Get out my office, Ghost.”
He laughed as he grabbed my purse off the desk and slung it over his shoulder. I stared at him.
“Why you insist on carrying my purse like that? I’d think you were gay if you wasn’t putting that dick on me.”
“Because you carry enough.”
My expression softened before I could stop it. He did that shit all the time. Said things that made me forget every reason I had ever given myself for keeping my heart locked away.
I walked over to him, wrapped my arms around his waist, and tilted my head back.
“I love you.”
His entire face changed. Like those three little words were something he still couldn’t believe belonged to him. He set my purse down, cupped my cheeks, and pressed his forehead against mine.
“I love you more, babe,” he whispered.
I shook my head. “Impossible.”
He kissed me. Not one of those quick little kisses he gave me when he was trying to get on my nerves. This one was slow. Deliberate. The kind that made my knees forget their purpose. When he pulled away, I chased his mouth.
He chuckled.
“C’mon, greedy. I’m hungry.”
“You’re always hungry.”
“And you always got something smart to say. That’s why we’re perfect.”
If somebody had told me a few months ago that I would be standing in my office, laughing like a lovesick teenager with a man younger than me, I would’ve told them to get the fuck out of my face. Yet, here I was. Happy. So happy that it scared me sometimes.
Ghost grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers.
“Ready?”
I nodded. “Take me home.”
He kissed my knuckles, and we left out the office.
The parking garage was nearly empty when we stepped off the elevator. Ghost walked slightly ahead of me, his eyes doing that familiar sweep of our surroundings. Even when he wasn’t working, he was working.
“Babe, relax,” I told him.
He glanced back.
“I am relaxed.”
“You look like you’re about to arrest somebody.”
“Depends. You planning on committing a crime?”
“I’m considering murdering my bodyguard.”
He flashed me a smile.
“The bodyguard that loves you?”
“My bodyguard talks too damn much.”
“You love that too.”
I shook my head, smiling as we approached his truck. He hit the unlock button. The lights flashed. I reached for the passenger door when he stopped walking. It was subtle. He was probably about to go off on me for opening my own door like always.
One second, he was smiling at me. The next, every trace of amusement disappeared from his face. His fingers tightened around mine.
“Ghost?”
He didn’t answer. His gaze shifted toward the garage entrance. I followed it. A black SUV was rolling down the ramp. Its headlights were off. Something cold settled in my stomach.
“Babe?”
Ghost turned toward me. His hands moved. “Get down.”
I frowned.
“What?”
His expression hardened. “Now!”
The SUV accelerated. Everything happened at once.
The passenger window dropped. Ghost’s eyes widened.
And then . . . there was a flash. A violent jerk of his body.
His hands slammed against my shoulders. I stumbled backward.
The first gunshot cracked through the garage.
I didn’t hear it. I felt it. A vibration so violent it seemed to travel through the concrete beneath my feet.
Ghost threw himself over me. His body collided with mine, sending us crashing against the side of his truck. Another flash. Another violent impact. His arms tightened around me. I saw his mouth moving.
“Down!”
