Chapter 8

“Daddy!”

Nolan grinned to himself where he stood in the kitchen, whisking eggs for omelettes. Every time Kai called him that, his heart squeezed until it felt like it might pop. He was already so far gone for this boy, he couldn’t believe that they’d only known each other two days.

“Yeah, baby?” He’d sent Kai to the living room ten minutes ago to pack up the Lego, but it was apparent that Kai had become distracted.

It was fine though. When he’d woken up, Nolan had been half worried that whatever ghosts had haunted Kai in the night would come back, but, instead, Kai had mumbled a drowsy request to suck him and then disappeared under the covers to mouth lazily at Nolan’s cock until he came down his throat.

Nolan had returned the favour in the shower ten minutes later, jerking him off with soap-slicked hands while rubbing on his puckered hole until the muscle started to give way.

The sounds Kai made had his dick filling again, and he’d rutted against the crease of Kai’s ass.

When he came, it was with the tip of his finger inside Kai, the muscle still fluttering around it with the last ripples of Kai’s orgasm.

“What else do you put in a sex room?”

Nolan chuckled. He’d seen the little diorama that Kai had been working on, and it was weird how much it turned him on. Nolan didn’t have a sex room, but he’d definitely played in them before.

“Lube!” he answered.

“Be serious!”

“What have you got?” he called back.

“A bed, a spanking bench and one of those cross things.”

“A St. Andrews cross?”

“Uh, yeah?”

“What about a sex swing?”

“Oh yeah. Definitely adding that.” It was mumbled more to himself than to Nolan.

Nolan set the eggs aside so he could pour Kai a coffee, doctoring it with cream and sugar the way Kai had yesterday.

Was it more sugar than he was comfortable with?

Yes, but he’d thrown some veggies in the eggs and there would be fruit on the table so…

balance. Still, maybe it would be a thing they worked on long term.

Long term. His chest warmed at the thought. He was ready to catapult himself full speed ahead at that future.

He deposited the coffee on the table beside Kai.

“I need, like, string or something to make the swing part. What does a sex swing look like? Show me.”

Nolan pulled out his phone, unlocking it and handing it to Kai to search for himself, momentarily amused by the surprise on Kai’s face.

“Looks like you’re running out of room,” he said, nodding towards the diorama.

“Katie only has one of these flat green things and Ken and Gloria take up too much room,” Kai said, scrolling through images of sex swings. He looked up at Nolan, interest and lust written all over that pretty face. “Do you have a sex swing?”

Nolan laughed. “No, I don’t. Why don’t we stop at the Lego store and see if we can pick up some supplies for you while we’re out?

” Nolan turned back towards the kitchen.

Since it was Sunday, both Kai and Nolan had decided to spend the day together, running errands and potentially finding something fun to do.

“There’s a Lego store?” Kai jumped to his feet, following him. Nolan turned back around holding out a hand to stop him in his tracks.

“Nuh-uh. You’re supposed to be packing up the Lego.”

Kai’s shoulders slumped. “But if I put it away then I have to start all over again.” The petulance on his face was charm itself. Nolan couldn’t quite hide the amusement from playing on his face.

“You can leave the diorama on the table. Just pack up the stuff you’re not using.”

Kai thought about it for a second. “Can we get a sex swing when we’re out?” Jeez, this boy’s brain was like a jack rabbit.

“Go!” Nolan spun him around and swatted his ass to send him on his way. He did take a second to imagine that tight little ass in a sex swing, legs up in the air while Nolan bounced him on his cock, which was already taking interest in the fantasy.

“I can feel you fucking me with your eyes,” Kai said as he scooped Lego back into the bin. He glanced over at Nolan. “I’d rather you fucked me with your dick.”

“I bet you would, you little cock slut. Five minutes. Hustle up.” Nolan chuckled as he returned to the kitchen.

Kai reappeared at his side with his coffee as he was adding the eggs to the pan.

He’d already sautéed onions, red peppers, mushrooms and bacon bits and set them aside.

Kai peered over his shoulder like he was inspecting his work.

“Look okay?” Nolan asked as Kai watched without comment. Kai nodded. “Do you cook?”

“Nah. Unless it’s box mac and cheese or Mr. Noodle.”

“Grandma never taught you?”

“Nah. She woulda been offended if she caught me making my own food at her house. Even after she got sick, she made all this food and stuck it in the freezer just in case.” A sad smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, squeezing Nolan’s heart.

“She sounds like a good one.”

“The best. But I guess it would have been better if she’d shown me, huh?”

“What about your parents?”

Kai shook his head.

“I don’t know where they are. They left me with my grandma when I was seven.

They had some problems with drugs and stuff.

” Colour rushed into his cheeks and he didn’t look at Nolan when he said it.

Nolan did some quick math. Kai’s grandmother had died before he finished high school. “Who took care of you after that?”

“No one. Well, I guess Liam. But he’s hopeless as fuck in a kitchen. Worse than me.”

“I can teach you if, you want.”

Kai’s eyes lit up. “Yeah, okay.”

Nolan tugged Kai in front of him.

“What’s in here?”

“A little butter and eggs right now. Here. Add your toppings.”

“All over?”

“Sure. The trick to eggs is to add a little water when you’re mixing it up. Not a lot. Just a spoonful or two depending on how many eggs you’re making. Here, add a little salt and black pepper.” He handed Kai the pepper mill and showed him how to twist it.

“Can’t you just buy pepper in a packet?”

“It tastes better when you grind it fresh. Add your cheese and cover it over. Now we wait. Why don’t you stick some bread in the toaster?”

Kai went off to do what he was told, and Nolan rested a hip against the counter, watching him.

“Your grandma doesn’t seem like she would have left you all alone.”

Kai shrugged with his back turned. “I have an uncle, but we never really got along. I guess he drew the line at having to give me a whole-ass house, so he threw me out instead.”

Nolan stilled. “Wait. What?”

Kai half-turned, frowning, probably at the immediate concern in Nolan’s voice. “What?”

“Your grandma left you her house, but your uncle didn’t want you to have it?” Was he understanding that right?

Kai shrugged again, shoving a piece of bread in his mouth without toasting it. “It is what it is, you know? It sucked, but it’s not like I could do anything about it,” he said around his mouthful.

“Kai, you can go to a lawyer.”

Kai burst out laughing as the toast popped up. He dropped the four pieces onto a plate, shaking out his fingers from the heat. He dragged the plate to where the butter dish sat beside the stove and began carefully spreading too much butter across the entire surface.

“You know any lawyers who work for Monopoly money? Shit,” he drawled out the word, “I don’t even have Monopoly money!” Kai continued to chuckle, shaking his head. “This ready?” He pointed to the pan where melted cheese had oozed all across the surface of the omelette.

“Yeah, c’mere.”

Kai uncovered the lid, and Nolan handed him the spatula, showing him how to fold it in half. Mostly. The omelette slid off a little prematurely, but the underside was perfect.

“Slice it in half and plate it up.”

Kai carried both of their plates to the table, and Nolan followed with their cups and the fruit tray.

“What’s that?” Kai nodded towards a mason jar on the table. Nolan grinned.

“Pepper sauce. Do you like spice?”

“Hell yeah, I do!” He reached for the jar, and Nolan handed him a spoon.

“Start with a little. This is homemade by my mother. It’s hot as fuck.” Nolan watched as Kai dipped a bite of egg into the sauce and popped it in his mouth sucking in a breath dramatically as the heat hit his tongue. Nolan laughed, his shoulders shaking, as Kai scrunched his face.

“Damn, that’s hot! That’s amazing!” His eyes lit up, and he scooped more onto his plate before diving in.

“Take it easy. It’s hot going in and out.

” Nolan helped himself to some as well but was more than content to watch Kai.

He ate with energy just like yesterday, but today there were no tears.

Given that he didn’t know how to cook, and how lean he was, it was easy to guess that he probably didn’t eat nearly enough or very healthily.

He was starting to put together a picture of Kai’s life.

What had happened to him after his uncle had thrown him out?

He’d said that he had Liam, but Liam looked to be around Kai’s age.

Kai had been alone when Nolan had found him in line for the club bathroom, clearly too drunk and falling asleep, and Liam had been nowhere to be seen.

That didn’t seem like a very good friend.

And then there was this uncle. Knowing that he was out there, that he had stolen something significant from Kai and left him exposed to who even knows what, made Nolan want to find him, beat the man and take back what was rightfully Kai’s.

“I could help you, you know. Get your grandmother’s house back.”

Kai paused but didn’t look up. “Nah. Like I said, it is what it is. It was a long time ago.”

Nolan knew he should let it go, but the injustice of it burned too strong. “I can talk to a friend of mine. He can at least let you know what your options are.”

“Your friend’s a lawyer?”

“Yeah. It’ll just be a casual conversation.” He scooped some of his own omelette into his mouth, savouring the bacon and cheese with perfectly cooked egg.

“I dunno. Maybe. Can I think about it?”
