Chapter 9

. . .

Zera

Calla’s legs were still trembling, slick with sweat and rain and Zera’s mouth. Her body hummed with the afterglow. Zera didn’t believe it was possible. If she looked like a goddess before, now she looked downright ethereal.

Zera hadn’t moved yet; she was looking down at Calla, ignoring her own shiny lips and wet chin. She tried to settle her heavy breathing, but how could she when her mate looked completely and utterly wrecked because of her? Pride flourished in Zera’s chest.

“You look so beautiful when you’ve been thoroughly eaten out.

” She chuckled, her hand moving to her own chest wrap.

She undid it quickly, her eyes never leaving Calla.

Her small breasts were free in a second, her nipples hardening at the humidity and coldness of the cave.

As she removed her undergarment, she noticed the flushness of Calla’s body.

“Stop talking in Arevulcan,” Calla managed to say.

“I will talk in Arevulcan from now on, and you will just have to get used to it. When you make me cum, the bond will snap, and you will not have to worry about not understanding me.”

“Hush.”

With shaky hands, Calla yanked at Zera’s hair hard.

Zera growled. Her body surged forward, caught by surprise, and Calla flipped them clumsily, crawling over her, thighs straddling Zera’s hips. She couldn’t stop staring. Her hands automatically came to touch Calla’s thick, luscious thighs.

This woman … By Ares’ fire, Zera had to thank him later for allowing Zera to meet her before she had a heartmate, because she would’ve gladly killed anyone to have her. Calla was hers and hers alone.

Zera’s abs flexed beneath the firelight as she adjusted her arms behind her head. From her position, she could see Calla’s eyes taking in every curve of her body. Good, let her watch and know that everything she had now belonged to her.

Calla swallowed hard. “I… I want to touch you,” she whispered.

Zera tilted her head. “Touch me,” she rasped. “Touch all.”

Calla bit her lip, her body suddenly becoming tense. Zera frowned at that. “Don’t be nervous. I am yours to do as you please. I will love everything you do to me.”

Calla frowned at her and shook her head.

“Nervous?” Zera asked after groaning in frustration.

“Very,” Calla began, her hands trailing over Zera’s abs, unsure. “I’ve … never …”

Never? Oh …

Her Calla was untouched, well, not anymore … But she had never been with someone.

Zera couldn’t help but feel a thrill go through her. “No nervous, my flower…” Zera said switching from Florensi to Arevulcan. “I accept you. Touch. Please.”

“Touch,” Calla whispered as she dragged her hand down slowly, past Zera’s ribs, over her taut stomach. Then, hesitantly, her fingers dipped lower between Zera’s legs. Zera’s breath hitched. Her thighs parted.

“Like this?” Calla asked softly. She circled gently, her eyes on Zera’s face.

She nodded enthusiastically, sitting up, grabbing Calla’s hands and pressing her fingers deeper, allowing her to feel just how fucking wet she was for her.

For a moment, she focused on the way Calla’s shy fingers brushed against her lips, dipping clumsily through her folds.

But her mate gasped, and her eyes grew wide when she finally touched the wetness at her opening.

Zera grinned and nodded. “That’s your doing, my flower. You get me wet by just existing…” She chuckled as Calla shook her head once more. “Fuck, I can’t wait for you to understand me….” She hooked her hand behind her neck and smashed their lips together.

Calla moaned against her mouth, allowing Zera to slip her tongue in, letting Calla taste just how deliciously sweet she was.

Her mate’s ragged breath fluttered between them as she gathered wetness at her fingertips and circled Zera’s clit painfully slow.

Zera wanted to be patient. Gods … she really did, she wanted to enjoy her mate’s clumsy attempt at fingering her, she wanted to enjoy being her mate’s first, but she also wanted nothing more to come, to feel the bond to feel all of Calla inside of her …

and Ares forgive her … she was taking too long.

Zera’s jaw flexed. “Taste me,” she growled. “Taste what belongs to you.”

Calla blinked, confused. “What…?”

Zera moved fast and grabbed Calla’s curls with one big hand and guided her—down. Firm. Clear. No room for misunderstanding.

Calla gasped as she found herself face to face with the slick heat between Zera’s thighs.

“Oh,” she whispered, breath hitching. She looked up, and Zera knew Calla could see just how wild her expression was. Her eyes hooded, her lip caught between her teeth. She was desperate.

Thank Ares and Vulcan Calla obeyed.

Calla kissed her, soft at first. Tentative.

Then she licked.

Vulcan’s fire.

It was divine.

Zera had had many lovers, but no one compared to the touch of the person destined for her. Nothing compared to Calla. Even in her inexperience, Calla’s touch burned her more than any forge, any fire, any lava back in the Vulcan kingdom. She wanted and needed to be branded by Calla.

Calla moaned against her. Her soft hands spread her thighs just enough to settle closer. “You taste like ambrosia. Sweeter than any fruit I’ve ever harvested. No orchard in Rhea could grow something like you.”

Fuck… Zera could understand half of what she was saying, but she knew that whatever she was saying was a sign that Calla enjoyed her just as she enjoyed Calla.

Zera groaned, her head falling back just as Calla buried herself between her legs, licking and sucking with slow, curious reverence.

Her hands gripped Zera’s thighs, holding on as she explored every part of her.

And when Zera started shaking, when her hips rolled up and her hands dug into the blankets, when the Arevulcan poured from her lips in broken, begging gasps—

Calla did not stop. Zera exploded with a broken cry, her whole body arching as she shattered, and when she opened her eyes again, Calla was above her, on her hands and knees, looking down at her.

Slowly and with wide eyes, heart full, Calla kissed her deeply.

Their mouths collided, messy and breathless, and the taste of them both lingered on their lips.

Calla collapsed against her chest, cheek pressed over her heart. Zera’s arms wrapped tightly around her. Neither of them spoke.

Zera closed her eyes, lips still tingling. “My flower, you are mine,” she whispered as the thrumming of Calla’s heart melted into her, as their souls mingled together and the bond locked in place.
