Chapter Twelve

By midafternoon, Sage was useless. Every time he stopped moving, the last few nights ran on a loop. Bryce’s hands, Bryce’s mouth, the way his breath caught when they kissed.

Gage waved a hand in front of his face. “Earth to Everest.”

“I’m here.”

“You’re nowhere. Go home.”

“I have notes to sort out.”

“You have a boyfriend,” Gage said, then winced. “Sorry. A Bryce.”

Sage capped his marker. “Yeah.”

“Tell Dan if he says, ‘puffy lips’ again I’m soldering his playlist to his ass.”

“Done.”

Sage texted Bryce on the walk back.

Sage laughed out loud. They both arrived on their floor at the same time, smiling when they saw each other.

“Hey,” Bryce said.

“Hey.”

Bryce opened the door, and they went inside, putting their coats on the hooks and kicking their sneakers off. The place smelled like coffee and the lemon they’d left on the counter. Sage locked the deadbolt and turned to face Bryce, who was closer than he’d expected.

“Sage,” Bruce murmured.

They met halfway. Mouths met as hands grabbed each other. Bryce’s fingers curled in Sage’s T-shirt. Sage got his hands on Bryce’s hips and tugged him in. Bryce made a sound and went with it, pushing Sage up against the front door. Sage bit his lip and moaned when Bryce’s thigh rubbed his dick.

“I’ve missed you,” Bryce whispered against Sage’s lips before kissing him again.

Sage whimpered, rubbing against Bryce’s thigh.

Laughter outside had them breaking the kiss to stare at each other.

Sage kept a hand on Bryce’s waist and let the other slide along Bryce’s jaw.

Bryce’s eyes were bright and a little wild, and it made Sage’s dick twitch in his jeans.

“Hi,” Bryce murmured

“Hi.”

“I want you.” Bryce kissed him.

“Bedroom.”

Sage took Bryce’s hands and led him into the bedroom. Within a minute, they were naked.

Bryce looked at Sage as Sage looked back at him. This was the first time he was paying attention to Bryce being naked. Sure, he’d seen him naked before, but there had never been any intent behind it. They’d been roommates for a while, so Sage had seen him a couple of times.

Now, he stood and stared. Bryce went to the gym, and it showed. Strong thighs, thick arms, broad shoulders. Sage had never considered that attractive but looking at Bryce had his dick hard and leaking.

He raised a hand and stroked Bryce’s chest, feeling the hair on his fingertips. “You’re gorgeous,” he whispered. “I never thought I’d find a man attractive.” Sage paused and looked at Bryce. “This is weird, right?”

“Does it feel weird to you? If it’s too much, we could go back to being friends.”

“Do you want that?” Sage shook his head before Bryce could answer.

“What do you want?” Bryce asked quietly.

Sage swallowed. “You. All of you.”

“Slow,” Bryce said and kissed him again.

Sage waved a hand over their naked bodies. “Slow?” Sage agreed.

Bryce chuckled and kissed him again. “Okay. We go at our speed, but we talk.”

Sage nodded, then kissed Bryce, and the conversation was over. They moved over to the bed, and Sage groaned when Bryce lay on top of him. He spread his legs so Bryce could fit between them and arched up when their cocks slid together.

“Fuck,” Bryce muttered. “You feel so good.”

Sage bit Bryce’s shoulder and then tugged his mouth back to his so they could kiss.

Bryce rocked on top of him, their dicks moving together.

Sage whimpered, his dick leaking, helping them slide against each other.

Bryce kept kissing, deep and wet and filthy, and Sage returned it, his hands moving down Bryce’s back to grab his ass.

Bruce groaned and bit his lip, then licked over it before plunging his tongue inside Sage’s mouth. Sage gasped, arched and lifted his legs, wrapping them around Bryce’s hips, matching his moves and increasing the friction on their cocks.

“Bryce.”

Bryce lifted his legs, but his hips didn’t stop moving. He placed a hand on Sage’s hips and watched him. “Close.”

Sage nodded, his eyes locked on Bryce’s. “Don’t stop.”

“I won’t.” Bryce kissed him, then groaned as his hips sped up. “Fuck, Sage.”

“Please, Bryce. Don’t stop. I need—” Sage slammed back as his orgasm exploded over him, seeming to come out of nowhere.

“Sage,” Bryce groaned as he ground his hips against Sage’s. “The look on your face…” Bryce choked off, his head arching as he came between them.

Sage held him, his hand moving up and down Bryce’s damp back, then he slid his arms over his shoulders as Bryce slumped against him. He could feel Bryce pant and held him tight. When they both came down, Bryce lifted his head and stared at Sage.

“You okay?” Sage asked.

Bryce nodded. He blinked like he was still coming back after his orgasm. “Yeah. You?”

“I’m good,” Sage said. “I’m really good. That was… Wow.”

Bryce nodded, kissed him, and then rested his head on Sage’s chest. Bryce’s palm settled at the back of Sage’s neck, his fingers tracing patterns on the skin.

“Water in a minute,” Bryce said.

“Yeah.”

They were quiet for another minute or so until Sage began to feel itchy from the dried come between them. He grimaced when Bryce moved to sit up and looked at their combined come on his body. Bryce also looked, then pulled a face before looking at him.

“I didn’t…expect this…” He shook his head. “It feels like it gets better between us.”

“I know,” Sage agreed. “That’s it.”

Bryce let out a breath. “Okay. I’m glad it’s not just me feeling that way.”

“No, it isn’t. It’s kind of scary how easy this is between us.”

“Maybe it’s because we know each other so well.”

“Let’s clean up and then I’ll get our water.”

Sage stood and together they went into the bathroom, grabbing a washcloth and cleaning his chest and abs. That feeling of strangeness washed over him, but he knew it was because he’d never done this before, then dropped a kiss on Sage’s lips before leaving the bathroom and going into the kitchen.

By the time Sage was back in the bedroom, Bryce had returned with two glasses of water. “Back in bed?” Sage asked.

“Yeah.” Bryce put the glasses down and crawled into bed, rolling onto his side to face Sage. Sage lifted a hand and touched his cheek. “I’m going to be awkward and say the wrong things,” Bryce said. “Not about us. I want us, even if it’s new and strange and not what I’m used to.”

“Okay,” Sage said. “I keep having this feeling about how different this is, but I want this too.”

“I want—I want a lot.”

“Me too.”

They went quiet until Bryce murmured, “I like being here with you. Like this.”

Sage kissed Bryce’s head. “Yeah. It feels…right.”

“But a little strange.” Bryce chuckled. “We’re both so used to women, but this is right between us.”

“It is.”

Sage felt Bryce’s breathing even out against his palm. He let the day drain away and kept the part he wanted—Bryce’s face when he’d said please.

Sage closed his eyes. “Night.”

Bryce answered without lifting his head. “Night.”
