Chapter 13
Jamie followed Karl into his room, Kitty and Ivan walking in behind them.
Ivan looked around the room. He saw a few of Karl’s personal possessions scattered around, but not many.
He turned to look at the children. “If you both make a list of everything you need or want for your rooms, I can get them for you. I want you both to be comfortable here and know these are your rooms for always.”
Kitty moved to his side and hugged Ivan. “Thank you, Ivan “
Ivan patted her back. He looked at Karl, who smiled at him. “Thanks, Ivan, and if I haven’t said it before, thanks for coming to rescue us.”
“You’re family,” Ivan said. “I will always come to rescue any of you.”
“I’m glad Jay has you in his life. Our brother is special,” Karl told him.
Ivan looked at Jamie and gave him a soft smile. “Yes, he really is.”
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
“Come in,” Karl called.
The door opened, and Jack stood there.
“Hey, Jack,” Ivan said.
Jack grinned. “Hi,” he said, looking at Karl and Kitty. “Seth and Gio bought me a gaming system. Do you both want to come and play?”
“Yep, totally,” Karl replied as Kitty said yes.
“Can they play now?” Jack asked Jamie.
Jamie laughed. “Sure, just try not to play too late.”
Jack shook his head. “I’ve been told bed by ten.”
“Perfect, go forth and have fun,” Jamie said. The children rushed off to play.
Ivan held his hand out to Jamie, who took it without hesitation. Ivan led Jamie into his own room. Before Jamie could even look around, Ivan slammed the door pushed Jamie against it and kissed him.
Not being stupid, Jamie happily kissed him back, wrapping his arms around Ivan, pulling him closer, as close as he could.
Ivan pulled his lips off Jamie’s and started kissing his neck. Jamie groaned as Ivan hit a sensitive spot.
“Ivan,” Jamie groaned. “How about we take this to bed?”
Ivan lifted his head and looked into Jamie’s passion-filled eyes. “When we make love, can I mate you?”
Jamie nodded without the least hesitation. “Yes. So, so, yes.”
Ivan gave him a blinding smile, before it slipped a bit. He wasn’t sure how to bring up what he wanted to do.
Jamie raised his hand to Ivan’s cheek. “I know you need to bite me, Ivan, and drink some of my blood, Dave told me. I trust you, honey, do what you need to.”
“How did I get so lucky with you?” Ivan asked softly.
Jamie shook his head. “I’m the lucky one, I get a cool vampire as a mate, while you are stuck with a pesky human.”
“The perfect human,” Ivan corrected.
“No more talking, make love to me, my vampire. If you ever thought of how you wanted your mating to go, you can make your fantasy real.”
Ivan slammed his lips on Jamie’s, conveying with his kiss how wonderful he thought Jamie was.
While still kissing, Ivan picked Jamie up and carried him to the bed and gently lay him down.
Finally, he drew back and started stripping Jamie, kissing every piece of skin he uncovered before making love and mating with him.
Jamie groaned as he came awake to the sound of Ivan’s alarm. He hardly got any sleep last night as he and Ivan made love pretty much all night. As it was, he was still wrapped up in Ivan’s arms, practically lying over him.
Ivan shut the alarm off and dropped a kiss on Jamie’s head. “Best morning ever.”
“Can you remember all your mornings?” Jamie teased.
Ivan chuckled. “No, that’s how I know this is the best morning ever, as I’ll always remember it.”
“Feeling sappy this morning, honey?”
“Are you complaining?” Ivan asks, tickling his side.
Jamie laughed, trying to wriggle away. “No! Stop, stop.”
Ivan rolled on top of Jamie, grinning before leaning down and kissing him.
Jamie wrapped his arms around Ivan’s neck and happily kissed him back, just as the alarm went off again.
Ivan groaned and pulled away. “Think anyone would notice if we didn’t get up?”
“Karl and Kitty, your family, Max and the people at the library.”
Ivan gave a large fake sigh. “Fine, we’ll get up.”
Jamie laughed. “That’s the spirit. You have important work to do, and I have drinks to make.”
“True, let’s shower together.”
The next thing Jamie knew, he was being dragged out of bed and into the bathroom.
Jamie loved this bathroom. It was all sleek and modern, and the shower had more than enough room for both of them. Sure, Jamie always wanted his own bathroom, one he didn’t have to share, but sharing with Ivan was so good.
“I’ve made space for you in the wardrobe and chest of draws. If you need more space, just let me know,” Ivan said, as they were dressing, seeing Jamie pulling clothes out of his bag.
“Thanks, honey. I don’t have many clothes, so I shouldn’t take up too much room.”
“We need to make this room ours. I can’t wait to see your things in here mixed up with mine.”
Jamie did his jeans up, then walked over to Ivan. “You’re being mushy again, honey.”
Ivan grinned and pulled Jamie into his arms and kissed him. He slowly pulled back. “Get used to it, sweetheart.”
Jamie and Ivan walked into the kitchen about forty minutes later. They had called for Kitty and Karl, but both rooms were empty. Jamie was shocked to see them both dressed and sitting at the table next to Spencer and Jack, eating breakfast.
“Alright, who are you two and what have you done with my brother and sister?” he asked, sitting down.
Karl and Kitty laughed.
“I was hungry, so I woke Karl, and we came down to eat.”
Jamie nodded. “We need to talk about finding a school for you both.”
“Jack and Spencer want to go to a school in Sleepy Magna. We thought we’d join them,” Karl said.
“Sleepy Magna?” Jamie queried.
“Sleepy Magna is a wolf village, run by Kevin Mellor, a friend of our coven,” Louise told him. “Seth is arranging a time for us to visit the school so the children can have a look around. If you give Seth your work schedule, we can arrange the visit around you.”
“Thanks. The new rota is out today, so I’ll send dates through as soon as I have them,” he looked at Ivan and leant into his side. “They’ll be safe there, right?” he asked quietly.
Ivan nodded. “As safe as they are here, I promise.”
Jamie sighed. “Thanks, as long as they’re safe, that’s all that matters. I also don’t want anyone picking on them because they’re human.”
“Jamie,” Jack said. “No one will pick on Karl or Kitty, or they’ll answer to me.”
“That’s my boy,” Gio said, smiling brightly at him.
Jack grinned at him.
Seth rolled his eyes. “They’ll be fine,” he said, reassuringly .
“Jessamy taught us how to throw punches yesterday,” Spencer told them.
“Just try not to punch someone where it shows,” Willard cautioned, putting his cup down.
“Willard!” Annie exclaimed, looking shocked.
Willard shrugged. “As long as there’s no blood, broken bones or bruises on faces, who’s to know?”
“That’s the same thing you told me when I was growing up,” Dave said, grinning at his dad, before taking a bite of his toast.
“I’m glad I didn’t know about that conversation,” Annie replied, shaking her head.
“I told Hunter the same,” AJ said, grinning at his son.
“I’m glad I didn’t know about that conversation either,” Charlotte added.
Hunter laughed. “You did, Dad, but I just let Taha take on any bullies.”
Taha laughed at the memory. “It only took one fight, and we were left alone,” he shook his head. “My parents doused me with holy water when they found out, and then spent a week praying for my soul.”
“They didn’t stop you from learning martial arts, though,” Owen mentioned.
Taha shook his head, pushing his empty plate away. “No, they thought staying with my learning in a controlled environment would help with my anger issues.”
“You don’t have any anger issues,” Charlotte pointed out.
“According to my parents, I’m an angry person and now take my anger out on my clients by tattooing them.”
“I’m glad your parents are still away,” Owen growled out.
Taha touched his arm. “They’re not bad people, they just don’t understand me. I don’t fit into the box they wanted me in.”
“We’ll help you explain everything to your parents when they get back. All they want is for you to be happy,” AJ said.
Taha huffed. “They only want me happy if I’m doing everything they tell me to, regardless of my feelings.”
“You never know, maybe this trip will open their eyes to how incredible you are,” Charlotte commented.
Taha smiled at her. “Thanks.”
Hunter looked at the time. “Are you ready to go, Ta?”
Taha nodded. “Yep, I’ll drive.”
Hunter looked at Gavin. “Have a good day, dear, see you at lunch.”
Gavin nodded and pulled Hunter into a kiss.
Finally, Taha and Hunter left.
“I need to go as well,” Jamie said, finishing his coffee.
“I’ll drive you, and pick you up when you finish. We can then pick up your boxes,” Ivan replied.
“I had two boxes in Max’s car,” Jamie remembered.
“We put them in your bedroom,” Olly told him.
“Thanks,” Jamie said, smiling his way. He looked at his siblings. “Be good.”
Karl rolled his eyes. “We’ll try.”
Jamie laughed and collected up his and Ivan’s things. Taking them to the kitchen sink.
“Jamie, I made Max lunch again. Do you mind giving it to him?” Thomaz asked, walking to the fridge and taking the lunchbox out.
“Thanks, he, like Dave, forgets to eat while at work,” Jamie said, taking it from him.
“He said. I didn’t make you any as you finish at twelve today, but I can whip you up lunch now if you need it.”
“Thanks, Thomaz, but I don’t need lunch today.”
Thomaz nods.
“Thanks, Tom Tom,” Ivan says, trying not to laugh.
Thomaz scowled and looked at Dave. “I blame you.”
Dave snorted out a laugh. “How did you come to that conclusion? It wasn’t me that came up with it.”
“No, but you called me that in front of everyone, and Raz isn’t here to blame.”
Everyone laughed at him. With a final goodbye, Jamie and Ivan left.
