Chapter 24

Luis asked Audra to meet him in the music room without wearing shoes.

“For safety or atmosphere?” she asked on the group thread.

Both. Fresh scope at the door.

The music room occupied the east end of the lodge beyond his private bedroom.

It held an upright piano, two armchairs, low shelves of records no one needed to play, and an open area intended for movement.

Luis had placed a folded blanket on the floor and a tray of water on the windowsill.

He had not filled the room with candles, food, or a performance Audra would need to reward.

He wore dark trousers and a soft black shirt open at the throat. His bare feet made him look less staged, not less serious.

“Capacity?” he asked.

“Seven physical after little sleep and two pair windows. Emotional eight. I want you.”

“Physical eight, emotional six. Jealousy, anticipation, and one bruise to my dignity from hearing absolutely nothing.”

Audra smiled. “Do you want reassurance?”

“Tell me what you want from this scene.”

“Pleasure with you. Rhythm. Your service if it stays chosen. I want to see what you look like when joy is not a mask.”

Luis felt the answer in his chest. “No promise that I’ll be solemn.”

“I hope not.”

“And no using fun to mean shallow.”

“Agreed.”

They negotiated scope. Dancing, undressing by request, oral touch if renewed after kissing, no penetration, no authority language.

Luis wanted to guide anticipation through rhythm but not control Audra’s orgasm.

Either could stop a pattern. The speaker would play local files only.

The door locked from inside. No one else had a sightline.

“I planned part of this,” Luis said. “I did not script your response.”

“What part?”

He held up a small hand drum. “Sound and silence. Nothing culturally ceremonial. Just a pattern I wrote.”

“Do you want to perform?”

The question was better than automatic praise.

“I want to play for two minutes. You may listen, move, or tell me to stop. After that, no audience.”

“Yes.”

Audra sat on the blanket. Luis took the chair opposite with the drum between his knees. He began softly, fingertips along the edge, a pulse repeated until the room learned it. Then he removed one beat. The missing sound created anticipation sharper than volume.

Audra’s body answered. Her shoulders loosened. One hand moved against her thigh. Luis watched without turning her response into applause.

The rhythm changed. Quicker, then still. He ended exactly at two minutes and set the drum aside.

“What do you want?” he asked.

“Come here.”

“Contact?”

“Kiss me. Hands over clothing first.”

Luis joined her on the blanket. It bunched beneath his knee. They fixed it, laughing, then began again.

He kissed her with the missing beat: pressure, pause, pressure, absence. Audra chased the pause once. Luis let her catch him. Her fingers entered his hair, nails at his scalp, and pleasure moved through him in a hot line.

“May I remove your shirt?” she asked.

“Yes.”

She pulled it over his head. Luis did not tighten his stomach. Audra’s gaze moved over his stocky torso, the dark hair on his chest, the softness at his waist, and came back to his face with appetite unchanged.

“You like what you see?”

“Very much.”

“No footnote?”

“Do you need one?”

He checked. “No.”

Audra pushed him gently onto his back after asking. She kissed his chest, stomach, the line above his waistband. Luis’s laughter left him in a short, disbelieving breath when she found a sensitive place below his ribs.

“That laugh is allowed,” she said.

“Generous policy.”

“Luis.”

He heard the question under his name. “I’m here.”

“Do you want me to continue?”

“Yes. I want your mouth on my chest and your hand over my trousers.”

Audra gave him both. The pressure of her palm over his erection pulled a groan from him. She looked pleased, not grateful.

Luis asked to undress her. Audra said yes. He lifted her shirt slowly, kissed each new part of skin, and waited before reaching for her bra.

“May I?”

“Yes.”

Her breasts settled free, full and mature. Luis cupped them with both hands, feeling weight and response. He used his mouth after asking, alternating tongue and gentle suction until Audra’s hand tightened at his shoulder.

“More?” he asked.

“Yes. Stronger on the left.”

He followed the instruction. Her head tipped back, throat exposed, not because the scene required a pose but because pleasure moved her.

Luis felt the dangerous satisfaction of creating the sound she made. He stopped before usefulness became price.

“Question,” he said. “If I do nothing for the next minute, do you still want me?”

Audra opened her eyes. “Yes.”

“Show me without service.”

The request frightened him as soon as it existed.

Audra moved over him, one thigh beside his hip, careful not to place unwanted pressure. “May I sit across your lap over clothing?”

“Yes.”

She settled there, bare-chested and warm, her weight grounding rather than symbolic. Then she kissed him while his hands rested by agreement on the blanket. She moved her hips once against his erection, asked, and did it again when he said yes.

Luis received.

No food, joke, rhythm, or arrangement purchased the pleasure. Audra wanted his mouth, his body, the man lying still beneath her.

“Touch me,” she said after the minute.

“Where?”

“Everywhere allowed. I want your hands.”

He gave them gladly.

They undressed the rest of the way in stages. Audra kept one knee bent because the floor pressed uncomfortably otherwise. Luis placed the blanket differently. She laughed at the logistical pause and he joined her, neither using humor to hide anything.

“Oral contact?” he asked when they lay side by side.

“Yes. I want to receive first, then ask you.”

“Agreed.”

Luis kissed down her body, not making a tour of perceived flaws. At her thighs, he asked them to open only as far as comfortable. Audra placed one foot flat on the blanket and let the other leg fall outward.

“Tell me the rhythm,” he said.

“Slow tongue. Steady. No fingers yet.”

He obeyed the request without transforming it into authority. Her taste, warmth, and the sound of her breath drew him deeper into pleasure. When she asked for more pressure, he gave it. When her body began to tighten, he did not turn consistency into performance. He stayed.

Audra’s orgasm arrived with a broken laugh and his name. Luis felt the laugh as delight, not salary.

He stopped when she touched his shoulder twice and said enough. Then he moved beside her and accepted her hand around him.

“Do you want my mouth?” she asked.

“Yes. Briefly. I’m close already.”

“Where do you want to finish?”

“On the towel. Not on your body.”

They placed it within reach. Audra took him into her mouth, her hand completing the rhythm. Luis warned her before he came. She withdrew as agreed and stroked him onto the towel, watching his face without asking him to entertain the moment.

Afterward, he lay on his back and cried one tear that irritated him by existing.

Audra saw it. “Touch or space?”

“Touch. Hand on my chest.”

She placed it there.

“I want difficult days,” he said. The words came without charm. “Not every crisis. Not automatic access. But I cannot be kept only where music and sex make me easy.”

“I hear you.”

“No promise?”

“A promise not to reserve seriousness for Roman or tenderness for Jin. I cannot promise identical access.”

Jealousy moved. Luis let it speak without giving it a ballot.

“I accept that answer today,” he said.

The word today followed Luis into his private room. He wrote it in his notes because the temptation to convert current consent into permanent security was strong.

At dinner, he told the men, “My capacity is seven. I want the shared-suite conversation. I also want it known that I may become observer or leave. That change cannot be interpreted as a joke about rank.”

Roman said, “Agreed.”

Jin asked, “Do you want us to check your capacity before authority begins if that becomes part of the scene?”

Luis felt exposed by the specificity. “Yes. Ask me directly. Do not look at me and decide.”

“Accepted.”

Audra asked the same question of every man so the check did not become special handling. Roman wanted direct rechecks. Jin did too. The group added the step to the scene plan.

Luis recognized how easily policy could still fail in a charged room. He chose yes knowing language did not eliminate fear.

He meant today. Present tense made the yes no less real.
