Chapter 8 The Porridge Delivery

"Xuxu, come here." The familiar commanding tone again.

Mother brought over a bowl of seafood porridge. "Take this to your brother."

I pretended to be surprised and scared. "Me?"

Mother sounded impatient and guilty. "Who else? Go now. Be smart about it."

I had not expected the opportunity to arrive so quickly.

Xu Yunru was truly going all out to please Song Chengyuan.

I carried the porridge upstairs and knocked lightly.

Song Chengyuan saw me and his eyes turned icy. He moved to close the door.

I held it steady. "Brother, Mother asked me to bring you porridge."

I lowered my head again, looking as if I feared him yet had no choice but to obey.

This angle had been carefully practiced.

Song Chengyuan's feelings toward me could not be all affection.

That way I could play the victim and shift all blame onto him later.

Nor could they be all hatred. I did not want to destroy myself.

I needed him to feel both love and hate.

Song Chengyuan, are you ready?
