Chapter 14
CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Gina
Hunter seems amused as Amethyst finishes reading her poem. I can tell that she’s excited to have a new member in the group because she keeps sneaking surreptitious glances at him to see how he’s responding.
We all applaud when she finishes, and she takes a little bow.
It’s hard for me to concentrate considering what just went down between us.
If he knew how wet my panties were, he’d know how close he’d come to having me.
He was hot and he knew how to turn a woman on.
I had no doubt that both his tongue and cock could have me coming in minutes. Get your mind out of the gutter, Gina.
“Why, thank you. Thank you. I do hope everyone enjoyed it,” she says, beaming, though it’s clear to me she doesn’t really care what anyone else thinks. Only Hunter.
I look over at him, and I see that he’s watching me.
There’s amusement in his gaze, and we share a small smile before he turns to Amethyst. There’s something in the way that he’s looking at me that makes me think he’d quite like to sneak out of the room and do naughty things to each other.
Or maybe I’m just projecting. I’d quite like to sneak out and get naked with him.
And do unspeakable things to each other.
“That was quite unlike anything I’ve ever heard before,” he says. “Really original.” He claps and I can’t help but stare at his hands. They been between my legs, making me pulse. I wonder if he’d felt the way I’d been trembling.
“Oh my goodness, what an honor to have you say that.” She grins, then looks over at Enid. Enid looks quite taken aback, and I wonder if she’s jealous.
“Okay, how about we take a small break?” Enid says, her voice sharp. “Let’s reconvene in an hour.” She heads out of the room, and I stand there for a couple of moments, thinking about what I should do. I’m surprised when Hunter comes up to me, a teasing expression in his eyes.
“So this is what you get to partake in every day.”
“Aren’t you jealous that you don’t get to, as well?”
“Yes. I’m so very jealous,” he says, grinning. “I suppose this is your penance.”
“What does that mean?”
“For lying about being in the FBI. But I said I wasn’t going to bring it up again. So, I won’t.”
“But you just did.”
“And I take it back.” He pauses. “Would you like to get something to eat?”
“No, I’m okay.” I will not eat his cock for lunch, though for some reason that’s all I can think about.
“Would you like to go for a walk?”
I’m about to say no, but there are two reasons why I don’t. One, because he intrigues me. And two, maybe this is a good opportunity for me to get to know him better. My brain is telling me that I want to get to know him better for the story, but my heart is telling me something quite different.
“I mean, sure. Why not?”
“Great.” We head out of the living room and toward the front door. He opens it for me, and I step outside. Then he closes it softly.
“Have you been on any of the trails?”
“I didn’t know there were trails. I mean, I’ve never heard of trails at a private house, but then I suppose I’ve never been on an estate this large.”
“I have a cousin. His name is Derek, and he loves to run and explore. He lives in the Pacific Northwest right now, and Grandfather had some trails put in for him. They’re not all hard.”
“We only have an hour break.”
“I figured we could walk to the Waverly Woods.”
“The Waverly Woods?”
“Yeah. Sometimes you get to see deer there. There’s a large clearing, and they come out to eat and play.”
“It’s a nice day, so sure. I’m grateful for the invite.” We head in the opposite direction of the driveway, and we walk in companionable silence for a few moments.
“So, quick question,” he asks.
“Yeah?”
“Does Amethyst think she’s a great poet, or am I just making that up?”
“Oh, she thinks she’s the best. William Shakespeare comes to her in dreams and tells her—”
“Okay, I’m going to stop you right there.” He starts laughing. “William Shakespeare, as in the bard himself?”
“Yes,” I giggle and then scream as I feel something graze roughly across my cheek. I scream and stop dead, waving my hands around like a crazy woman.
“Are you okay?” he asks as he stops next to me. There’s such a look of concern in his gaze that it makes my heart raise.
“I think… sorry. I don’t know what it was. Something just brushed against my cheek, and I don’t know if it was a bee or a wasp or—”
“Or a fly?”
“I don’t know. I am not great with bugs.”
“It’s okay. Stand still. Let me check and make sure it didn’t get caught in your hair or anything.
” He stands there, and I feel his eyes flicking across every inch of my face.
It’s intense standing there next to him, and I can feel my breath coming quickly as his fingers brush against the softness of my skin. And then his touch moves to my hair.
“Is there anything caught there?”
“I don’t think so,” he says. His eyes flick to my lips. “Do you know that we have never actually—”
“We’ve never actually what?” I clear my throat, and he grins at me.
“Nothing. Nothing.”
“What?”
“I just—” He stops as something comes flying toward me again.
“Ah!” I scream out, and he looks to the right and smiles.
“Don’t worry. It won’t get to you if I’m here.”
“You’re going to protect me from the bugs?”
“I am,” he says. “Plus, I like to think that I am one with nature.”
“Oh, yeah? And why is that? Because you like to go skinny-dipping?”
“No. Maybe because I just appreciate every blade of grass, every petal on a daisy, every golden leaf on a tree, every skinny branch that’s about to break, every cloud in the sky, every bird that soars, and every butterfly that flutters past.”
“Oh, so maybe you are a poet after all.”
“Maybe,” he says, his voice lowering. “Or maybe I’m just a man who has finally had enough with waiting for something good to happen.
” Before I know what’s happening, he’s leaning forward, and his lips press against mine.
Finally. I don’t care that anyone could look out the windows and see us.
I just need him to continue touching and kissing me.
I close my eyes, and suddenly, my arms are around his neck, holding onto him for dear life.
He kisses me softly at first, and then when he sees that I’m kissing him back, the pressure intensifies.
It’s like nothing I’ve ever felt before.
I run my fingers through his silky hair, and I feel his hands running down my back.
I melt into him, with the warm sun on my face, and time stands still.
I press my breasts against his chest and holds me close against him.
His fingers run down my back and he tugs on my hair slightly, but I don’t care. I just love the feel of him next to me.
I run my fingers down the front of his pants and squeeze his cock. He grunts as I squeeze and I feel his cock twitching.
“Come,” He pulls me further up and around the corner.
His eyes are dark and narrow and I watch as he pulls up my top and pulls my bra down.
His fingers gently rub my nipples and I gasp loudly.
This causes him to chuckle before taking my left nipple in his mouth while playing with my right breast. Wanton need fills me and I run my fingers through his hair.
He pulls away, then kisses me again, while his fingers continue caressing my breasts.
I am so turned on I can barely think. I push him back, reach down and unzip him.
He looks at me, with a wide, shocked expression as I pull his cock out.
It’s long, and hard and I run my fingers back and forth as I squeeze him.
He groans as I drop to my knees and take him into my mouth.
He tastes salty and sweet at the same time and I can feel him growing in my mouth as I suck him.
I bob my head up and down, loving the feel of him.
Then he grabs my hair and starts thrusting into my mouth.
Deeper and faster and soon I’m feeling him at the back of my throat.
I want to make him come. I want to hear him grunting my name.
He stills and I think he’s about to come, but then he stops.
My eyes fly open, and he looks at me with a sheepish grin as he pulls out of my mouth.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that.” He reaches down and holds his cock in his palm.
“Why?” I say, licking my lips nervously.
“I guess… I don’t know if I overstepped too much or if it’s too soon.” His hand moves back and forth slowly as I stand up.
“Too soon?” I look at him. “What do you mean?” I swallow hard. I can’t believe he’s finishing himself off in front of me.
“I mean, you just got out of a relationship and—” He pauses and his eyes are locked on mine as he hand moves faster and faster and soon he’s breathing heavily.
He leans forward, kisses me, then sucks on my nipples, before jerking off quickly and exploding into the ground.
“Fuck…That felt good.” He pulls a tissue from his pocket and cleans himself up, as I pull my bra back up.
I don’t know why I found the moment so hot, but I was practically panting.
”Trust me when I say that I’m not sad that Patrick and I are no longer together.”
“So you’re saying that I can do it again?” His voice is hoarse.
“I’m saying that if your lips were to touch mine another time, I wouldn’t say no. In fact, I might quite enjoy it.”
“So you don’t hate me as much as you were making out earlier?”
“I don’t think I would have given you head if I hated you.” I lick my lips. “You didn’t have to stop by the way. I also never made out that I hated you.”
“I would beg to differ, but I’m not going to argue about it.” He winks at me. “I’d love to replay the favor. I want to lick you up down right now.”
I swallow hard at his words. The thought of his tongue on me right now feels almost as good as the touch itself.
“Maybe we’ve had our wires crossed.” He says softly.
”You’re just a difficult man to read.”
“Oh, and you’re so easy?”
“I’m as easy as you are.”
“Touché.” He leans forward, and I feel his thumb brushing against my lower lip. “You are beautiful, Gina.”
“Thank you. You are, too.”
“I’m what?” He grins. “I’m beautiful?”
“I mean, you are handsome. That’s what I meant to say.”
I’m flustered and breathless, and I’m not quite sure what’s just happened, but I don’t want this moment to end. I also want to know if he has a girlfriend or not. “I was wondering if you were in a rela—”
“ARRGHHHH” We hear the scream piercing through the window, and we look at each other in shock.
“What was that?” I ask him.
“I’m not sure.”
“Oh my gosh! I’ve been robbed!” The scream sounds again.
“I think that’s Enid,” I say as we hurry back to the house. We step inside, and immediately, I hear Enid screaming incessantly.
“I’ve been robbed! I’ve been robbed!” Hunter runs past me and up the stairs, and I follow behind him. We head toward Enid’s room, and I see that Preston and Amethyst are also there.
“What’s going on, Grandma? What’s happened?” Hunter says, worry in his tone.
“I’ve been robbed. My diamond necklace. It’s gone.” She looks around with wild eyes.
“It’s gone. Stolen.”
“Are you sure? Is it not in the safe deposit box?” Preston asks.
“No. I took it out the other night because I wanted to wear it to dinner, but I decided to wear the rubies instead, and—oh no, darling, my diamond necklace.” She gazes at Hunter and clutches his hand.
“It was from my great-grandmother. It was a million-dollar necklace.” I gasp as she states how much it cost. Hunter looks at me with narrowed eyes, and I look back at him.
I’m not sure why he’s giving me that questioning look, but I’m not going to worry about it right now.
I look at the faces of everyone in the room.
Amethyst looks bemused. Preston looks unconcerned.
Hunter looks confused. Enid looks panicked.
And I’m not sure what expression I have on my face.
“Oh my gosh, what am I going to do?” Enid clutches her chest.
“When’s the last time you saw the necklace, Grandma?” Hunter looks around the room.
“The night of the dinner,” she says. “And I just came to put it back in the safety deposit box, and now it’s gone.”
“So you’re sure it was stolen?” Hunter presses his lips together.
“It was stolen.” She looks very upset. Then she says the words that make my heart still.
“It was stolen, and if I’m not mistaken, it was stolen by someone in this house.
” I see Hunter’s eyes move to me, along with Amethyst’s.
I don’t want to say they’re accusing, but they’re definitely not as friendly and sweet as they had been previously.
My heart races, and all I can think is that if I’m the number one suspect in a missing million-dollar necklace case, I’m in a lot of trouble.
A lot, a lot of trouble.
I bite down on my lower lip and just stand there because I don’t know what to say or do.
My mind is still fluttering from the kiss with Hunter. My body is still on fire.
How am I supposed to process that intimate moment with the shock that this necklace has now gone missing?
I don’t know what to do, but I know I have to call Emma. She’s always the voice of reason. In moments like this, she would help me calm down and figure this out. Because one thing I know for certain: I am already in over my head, and I don’t know how I am going to make this all right.
