26. Manifestation Diary
Adrian's Pov:
After dropping Lily off at school, I came to my office and started working. Soon, I received a call from Evan. He told me he was back in town, so I immediately asked him to come over.
Two or three hours later, Evan was sitting in my cabin.
He looked at me and asked, "So, tell me in detail. What happened?"
I began speaking.
"So, I already told you how Sophia left."
Evan hummed. "Yeah, you called me that day."
I nodded.
"So yes, she left. And after just one day, she sent me the divorce notice and... and, Evan, she didn't ask for any alimony. She only asked for 50-50 custody of Lily."
Evan hummed again and said, "See? I told you Sophia was never a gold digger, but you never listened. But leave that aside. Now, I'm glad that you two are getting divorced. It's good for both of you."
I dropped my head, overwhelmed by guilt, regret, and sadness.
"No, Evan. Nothing is good now."
He frowned.
"What happened?"
I sighed.
"Vanessa... she doesn't want Lily."
Evan almost shouted.
"What?!"
His tone rose instantly.
"But why? Lily loves her. And she always doted on her. Then what happened now?"
My voice was filled with confusion.
"I don't know. Yesterday she just came to my office and said she doesn't want me to take Lily's 50% custody. She said she's too young to have a daughter."
Evan let out a sarcastic laugh.
"Oh, so she wasn't too young when she used to play with Lily knowing that she is the daughter of man with whom she is having an affair or when she bought her chocolates and ice cream all the time? Was it just to get Lily's attention?"
He shook his head.
"She wasn't too young when she was having an affair with a married man."
I looked at him.
"Are you taunting me?"
He looked right back at me.
"No, no. Why would I taunt you when I can directly confront you? You fucking got into a relationship with Vanessa when Sophia was in her postpartum period."
I stayed silent.
"I've been telling you from the very beginning that Sophia was never a gold digger, but Vanessa was. You never listened."
He leaned back in his chair.
"Or maybe you were just so madly in love with Vanessa."
Then he paused.
"Actually, was it even love, Adrian?"
I frowned.
"What do you mean?"
Evan shrugged.
"Because from where I was standing, your relationship always looked like it revolved around expensive gifts, luxury vacations, grand surprises, balls, parties, and social events."
He sighed.
"Adrian, I warned you from the very beginning. Think about it. Why would any decent woman willingly get into a relationship with a married man who already had a daughter?"
I looked away.
"But at that time, you kept saying that Vanessa understood your pain. That she understood how Sophia trapped you by getting pregnant."
His voice turned colder.
"And now look who actually trapped whom."
I clenched my fists.
"I already know I made a mistake."
My voice was frustrated.
"I didn't call you here to remind me of that. I called you because I need help. What should I do now?"
Evan looked at me as if I had grown a second head.
"Now?"
He laughed in disbelief.
"What exactly is left to do now, Adrian?"
He pointed at me.
"You divorce Sophia."
"And then you move on."
I didn't mean to say it.
The words slipped out before I could stop them.
"I don't want Sophia to leave."
The moment those words left my mouth, the cabin fell silent.
Even I froze.

Sophia's POV:
I had just changed into my pajamas.
Only an hour ago, I had returned from Sinclairs' Company office (Oliver's company) , and honestly, I was feeling amazing.
I can't believe it-I nailed the interview this time.
Maybe it was because I already had an idea of the questions after attending several interviews over the past few days. And this time, I had even confidently answered the question about my five-year career gap.
I was genuinely happy.
For the first time in a long while, I felt hopeful.
Since I was finally free, I decided to read some of my coding books and magazines about the latest technological innovations.
I opened the suitcase where I had packed all my books, journals, and magazines.
I was looking for the book I had been reading before leaving the mansion-or rather, before leaving Adrian's mansion.
The book was called "AI Prompts."
I searched through the suitcase.
Then searched again.
And again.
Soon, I had emptied the entire suitcase onto the floor.
But the book was nowhere to be found.
I frowned.
"Where did I keep it?"
I sat down on the floor and tried to remember.
I distinctly recalled reading it before going to sleep a few nights ago.
Then suddenly it clicked.
My eyes widened.
"Oh no..."
I had left it behind.
The book was still in Whitmore Mansion.
More specifically, it was inside the drawer of my bedside table.
I slapped my forehead dramatically.
"How could I forget?"
But before I could finish panicking, another realization struck me.
And this one was much, much worse.
"Oh shit."
I jumped to my feet.
"No, no, no, no..."
How could I forget that?
My manifestation diary.
Yes.
My manifestation diary.
A few years ago, I had watched one of those videos claiming that if you wrote down your dream life every night in the present tense and thanked the universe for it, your wishes would eventually come true.
So naturally...
I had tried it.
At first it had been harmless.
But then...
Well...
I had gotten a little carried away.
Okay.
Maybe a lot carried away.
I buried my face in my hands.
Because I knew exactly what was written in that diary.
Things like-
THANK YOU UNIVERSE. YOU ARE SO GOOD. YOU ALWAYS MAKE SURE MY WISHES COME TRUE.
TODAY ADRIAN CAME HOME EARLY JUST TO SURPRISE ME.
HE EVEN brOUGHT MY FAVORITE CHEESECAKE.
HE LOVES ME SO MUCH.
HE ADORES ME.
HE FEELS TERRIBLE FOR CHEATING ON ME WITH VANESSA AND APOLOGIZES EVERY DAY.
LILY CAN'T EVEN STAY AWAY FROM ME FOR FIVE MINUTES.
THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME SUCH A HAPPY FAMILY.
I groaned loudly.
There were pages and pages of things like that.
Some were emotional.
Some were embarrassing.
And some...
I wanted to erase from existence.
There were entire romantic scenarios where Adrian suddenly realized my worth, begged for forgiveness, took me on dates, bought me flowers, and acted like the perfect husband.
Needless to say-
none of them had come true.
Not a single one.
I knew it was cringe.
Trust me, I knew.
But at the time, I had wanted to believe.
The problem now wasn't that the diary was embarrassing.
The problem was that it was still inside Adrian's room.
Inside the bedside drawer.
And if Adrian found it...
I would genuinely die from embarrassment.
I grabbed my head.
"Oh no."
Then another horrifying thought crossed my mind.
"What if he already found it?"
I stared at the wall in horror.
No.
No.
No.
Please no.
Anything but that.
I would rather disappear from the face of the earth than let Adrian Whitmore read those pages.
Okay so hello everyone I am finally back... Thank you for waiting and all your well wishes . I read all your messages and comments they were so heartwarming and lovely. I love you all so much????????
Okay so now back on Sophia and Adrian.
In today's chapter the contrast in Adrian's condition and Sophia's condition is too vast like Adrian is in guilt and remorse while Sophia ???? she is worried about her diary ?? I mean it is not that serious actually it is not at all serious .
But it will be fun when Sophia will try to get that diary back. ????
Love you all ???? Do give your reviews about the chapter.
