Chapter 52
Chapter Fifty-Two
Callie
As I stand outside the bank and watch Foster shake hands over the banker’s desk and smile at him, I contemplate what he could be doing.
I want to grant him the privacy to go do whatever he has to with regards to his dad.
But my suspicion is that he sends his dad money every month.
Helps him float his income. I don’t even know where his dad lives, but Foster looks friendly with the banker, as though this isn’t the first time he’s been here doing this.
Then again, the guy could just be a Colts fan.
But the pit in my stomach widens—how much leash do I give Foster before I demand he tells me what secrets he’s keeping?
And honestly, does it even matter? I’m already too invested.
Heartbreak is inevitable.
