Epilogue

They were married six months later in the newly restored courtyard in Christmas Village.

Crystalia wore an ice blue gown appliquéd with scattered diamond snowflakes.

Brilliant diamond stars adorned her hair, and she wore a matching crown intricately set with blue and clear diamonds, an engagement gift from her future husband.

Her train trailed more than ten feet behind her as she slowly walked to meet her groom with Patty a few feet ahead of her.

Wyatt stood beside Jackson. They’d managed to become friends over the last weeks and Crystalia smiled thinking that Jackson appeared to be more excited about the upcoming birth of Patty and Wyatt’s child than she was.

He’d already built an astonishing nursery in the castle and gifted the couple with their own magical sleigh and team of white reindeer so they could come and go at will.

It seemed to Crystalia that the entire village had turned out and she smiled at Merry Mistletoe and Bartlett as she passed them.

Celestial and Willie Wonderland beamed at her from the sidelines and she saw her mother dab at a tear on her cheek.

Shaking, she neared Jackson, waiting for her wearing a brilliant white tuxedo. She felt her body relax when he winked at her and grinned before taking her hand.

Clearing his throat, Santa read the vows, bringing special attention to the word, obey and she repeated it clearly, even as Santa raised his white bushy eyebrows in suspicion. Wide-eyed she stared back at him until he laughed and shook his head.

So he didn’t believe her, what else was new?

It was clear Jackson didn’t either, but apparently he was prepared to take that risk and he grinned observing the exchange.

They stood before all and swore their undying love; the courtyards fountain dancing merrily in the background of Mrs. Claus’s organ music.

Blue and silver flowers glowed as though in delight. The night sky was brilliant with stars and Crystalia and Jackson took a moment to look up just before they kissed. Both of them saw the startling site of one glorious star shooting across the sky.

“Did you do that?” she whispered.

“No, did you?”

“No,” she breathed back. Then she glanced at her mother who was smiling wickedly and she knew without a doubt.

When they sealed their marriage with a kiss, hundreds of fireworks shot into the sky, bursting into a blaze of tiny diamonds of light.

Jackson took her hand and kissed it as the guests cheered.

“It took us a while to get here,” he told her, “but I believe you’ll be worth the wait.”

“I hope you’ll still think so in a couple of centuries,” she replied smiling. “I am after all keeping my star hairpins, so I am not without my magic if you get out of line,” she teased.

“You my love have always been magic,” he replied. “Now come and dance with me and let’s get this party started. I’m sure it will create wonderful memories, but in all honesty, I can’t way to get you home.”

“Will there be more beautiful stars?”

“As soon as we’re alone and you’re in my arms,” he promised.

“Then your wish is my command, my king.”
