Chapter 23 Elijah

Elijah

The headboard rattles against the wall, knocking some of my figurines and pictures down behind the bed.

“Fuck, sorry.” Tobias grits behind me. He’s been insatiable since he got here—not that I’m complaining. I’ve missed him so much, and it’s not really different from how we normally are. But there’s an urgency to him this time, subtle but there, nonetheless.

“I don’t care, just don’t fucking stop.” I gasp, gripping the pillow under my face for dear life. I moan as he thrusts into me, hitting that glorious spot inside of me. “You’re fucking me so well, baby.”

I’ve never experienced sex with anyone like I do with him. It’s like he knows my body better than I do. The way he moves with me, his firm hands gliding up my back like butter. The way he grips my sides and the back of my thighs. I simply can’t get enough of it.

I feel the familiar pressure start to rise as he enters me over and over again. Burying my face in my pillow, I try to stifle how loud I am but it’s no use.

All of a sudden, a buzzing noise from my side table sounds in the room, competing against the slapping of his thighs against mine.

I reach out, but before I can grab it, Tobias grips my wrist, bringing it back behind me.

“No,” he says, continuing his pace.

Holy shit. Looks like Tobias has no time for BS today.

The phone rings again, this time, he reaches out and knocks it off the table.

Wrapping his hand around my throat, he pulls me up against his chest, the intense pressure against my prostate making me tense as my dick jerks in front of me with every pump.

“Fuck, T. I’m—” Before I can even finish getting the words out, my come sprays all over my bed sheets like a sprinkler. “Shit, shit, shit.”

“Oh fffuck,” Tobias groans. My eyes flutter shut as I can feel him thicken inside of me, his hips stuttering as warmth fills me.

Leaning my head back onto his shoulder, I enjoy the soft touches he gives me, gliding his hand down my chest, and giving my dick a couple of sensitive light strokes to make sure I’m really empty.

“You dick…” I pant. “Those were my last set of clean sheets.”

Tobias chuckles lightly behind me, kissing my neck. “I’m so sorry, baby.”

“No you’re not.” I laugh, dragging him down with me onto the dry part of the bed.

“Not at all.” He chuckles, joining me.

Sneaking Tobias in and out of the showers was easy enough and before we knew it, we were dressed and ready to go by nine am. It being a holiday weekend means the campus is oddly quiet. But for a weekend that Tobias is visiting? This couldn’t be more perfect.

“Thank you, sir,” I say, grabbing the two coffees from the barista.

“I can’t believe we’re cheating on our girl, Tanya, right now.” I pass Tobias his first ‘on campus’ caramel macchiato.

Tobias raises his eyebrows at me as he takes his first sip from the white cup. I snap a couple photos of him from my camera as he does it, since the sun is shining so brightly against his golden hair.

He licks his lips and takes a moment to consider the taste. “Hmmm.” He narrows his eyes.

“What do you say? Are they putting Bloom & Brew out of business?”

“Mmm…” He takes another sip, licking his lips. “Not even close.” He winks. “It’s good though. Very tasty,” he says, lifting the cup.

“Yeah, well. I can’t say I’m surprised.” I laugh, tapping my cup against his.

As we begin walking, I eye his hand swinging beside me.

“Can I…hold your hand?” I know that it’s going to take some time getting used to being out in public.

In the restaurant it’s a little different since everyone there knows about us, but we’re still working on everywhere else. I’d never want to push him too quickly.

He gives me a shy smile before nodding his head. “Yeah, baby. It’s okay.” He wraps his hand in mine and gives me a nice quick squeeze.

A gentle flutter rises inside of me as I feel his closeness. “Good.” I smirk, giving the back of his hand a few kisses before tugging it against my chest. “Ugh, I still can’t believe you’re here.” I groan. Having him here makes my heart feel so full.

It’s like nothing can ruin this moment.

“Elijah!” I hear Katelyn’s voice calling out behind me.

My body tenses for some reason as I hear her running over to us in her clunky boots.

Tobias doesn’t let go of my hand which is nice.

Okay, I guess this is a little weird. I didn’t account for this meetup between my ex and my current—and forever—relationship.

“Uh, hey, Katelyn.” I smile, scratching the back of my neck.

Her eyes dart between Tobias and I as she stops in front of us, catching her breath. “No wonder you didn’t pick up your phone.”

“Yeah, I got surprised and we were…a little busy catching up.” I laugh awkwardly, trying to hide my unease.

“Yeah, I bet you were.” Her eyebrow arches as she looks beside me. “Hey, Tobias.”

He gives her a little wave. “Hey, Katelyn. How are you?”

“Good, thanks.” She looks down at our clasped hands and smiles kindly. “You know, I’m really happy for you two. You look good together.”

My eyebrows raise. She’s not usually this warm. “That’s very nice of you to say.” I admit.

“Nice is what they call me.” She gives me a wide grin.

I immediately shake my head and laugh. “No. No they don’t.”

We all share a laugh before a vibration comes from my pocket. “Oh shit, I forgot I had a million calls from Gwen.” I say, pulling out my phone and seeing it’s her.

“I better get this.” I give Tobias a sympathetic smile, feeling the way he’s squeezing my hand. I really don’t want to leave him awkwardly alone with Katelyn but…

“I’ll stay with him. I won’t bite.” She winks, tilting her head.

I look to Tobias who gives me a pensive smile. “I’ll be right back.” I quickly give the back of his hand a kiss before stepping away. It should only take a few minutes anyway. She usually calls just to check-in.

“Hey Gwen, what’s up—”

“Elijah. Oh my gosh, finally. I’ve been trying to get in touch with you.” She rushes out.

“Shit. I’m sorry, Gwen.” I scratch my eyebrow. “Is everything okay?”

“Well, that’s just it…I’m not sure.” She breathes out. I feel a dip in my stomach. I don’t like the sound of that. “I promised him I wouldn’t say anything but…it’s been really bothering me and I’ve been struggling with knowing what the right thing to do is.”

My eyebrows furrow. “What’s going on?”

“It’s Tobias. I’m really worried about him.”

My eyes shoot up to look at him. My heart speeds up in my chest and I feel a rush of panic.

But, as I look over, there he is—standing there looking as happy as ever with that beautiful charming smile on his face. “Are you sure? I’m looking at him right now and he looks great…”

Gwen takes in a sharp inhale. “Oh, he’s there with you? Thank goodness. Okay, okay—that’s good news.”

Tobias looks over at me and winks, sending a weird, twisting feeling in my gut. If something was wrong…I’d know it. I know him better than anyone… don’t I?

“Yeah, he looks great.” I smile softly.

“Okay. I’m glad to hear.” I can hear her calming down over the receiver. “Just…keep an eye on him, would you? I love you both so much.”

I squeeze the phone in my hand. “I love you too. We both do.”

We say our goodbyes and I end the call feeling off as I walk back to Tobias.

Why would Gwen be so worried?

“Tobias here was just telling me about your little thanksgiving party in your dorm. Got any left?” Katelyn asks, her hands on her hips.

I suck in a breath and throw my hand on her shoulder to soften the blow. “I’m afraid I stuffed my face last night.”

“I can make more for you when you come and visit.” Tobias laughs.

Katelyn gasps. “Now, that—that I like.”

I shake my head, throwing my arm around his shoulder. “I was just about to give T a grand ol’ tour of campus before I meet up with Flux.”

Katelyn’s eyebrows raise as a smile creeps on her face. “Oh! That sounds like fun. Can I join you two?”

I look at Tobias who shrugs.

“Uh, yeah. Why not?” I smile, tilting my head.

Truthfully, I’m not too sure why Katelyn would want to hang out with her ex-boyfriend and his new boyfriend, but hey, we’re friends now and if she’s cool with it, then by all means.

“The more the merrier!” I grin.

“This is why I don’t date jocks.” Katelyn shakes her head, sitting back to watch us tussle.

Of course we’re battling over the last Twizzler as we sit on the grass out in the square. As Tobias towers over me, I quickly realize I’m losing this battle. “It’s mine.” I grit out as I think fast, stuffing one end in my mouth.

“Oh shit!” He laughs, wrapping his arm around my head and pulling me in. He’s got me in a full headlock now but little does he know, I’m not hating this position he has me in at all.

“Give it to me.” Tobias laughs, pulling the candy out of my mouth. I wince, trying my best to bite down as hard as I can, relying on him eventually losing grip. It’s basically turned into a chew toy at this point as he shakes my head side to side.

“Is it always like this with you two?” Katelyn can’t help but laugh watching the mess that we are.

Finally, letting out a sigh from expending all his energy, Tobias calls it, leaning back. “Fine. You win,” he pants.

“No fun.” I shake my head, crawling over to him. Placing my head in his lap, I look up at him, tilting the candy towards him with my teeth. “We can share.”

His eyebrows shoot up as he smirks down at me. “Oh, how the mighty have fallen.” He sighs, lowering his lips to mine, biting a chunk of the candy off.

I reach out until I can feel my camera on the blanket.

“Don’t move,” I say, placing the lens at my eye.

The sky is the perfect shade of blue. Like that muted navy color you only get some days when the clouds are nonexistent and the sky is still.

Right here, his eyes are almost the same color and it’s stunning. I snap a few quick photos.

“What does he do with all of those pictures?” Katelyn asks beside us.

“I’ve learnt not to ask questions.” Tobias answers, softly moving his thumb back and forth along my jaw.

“Smart man,” I mutter, as I snap a few more.

“I feel so single,” Katelyn sighs, making us all laugh. “Hey, don’t you have to meet with Flux soon?”

“Shit.” I sit up, checking the time on my phone. “Yeah, we’ve gotta go.” I stand, dusting off my pants. I’m almost certain I’m going to have grass stains on my pants after rolling around with Tobias all afternoon.

Whatever, it was worth it.

“Have any tips to make her like me?” Tobias asks Katelyn as he stands to join me.

Katelyn shakes her head. “I’ll let you know once I figure it out.” Her eyes slide over to me. “But Elijah will know. She just loves him.”

I’m confused at her tone of voice but I shake it off. “Yeah, well…come on, T. We’re gonna be late!” I laugh, tugging him after me. “Talk to you later, Katie!” I wave.

“See ya!” She calls out.

“I’m nervous,” Tobias admits, squeezing my hand.

I slow down our pace so we have more time to talk before we get to Flux’s office.

“What!? Really? You’re always so good with meeting new people. I see you all the time at work.” I laugh.

Tobias smiles softly. “That’s a little different. Flux means a lot to you. I want to make a good impression, or whatever.” He scratches the back of his neck with his free hand.

I turn to Tobias, stopping in front of him and place my hands on his shoulders. “She’s going to love you. I’m certain of it.”

“How are you so sure?” Tobias shakes his head, playfulness on his face.

I tilt my head. “Because it’s physically impossible to hate you. I should know. I tried and now look at us.” This makes Tobias blush, looking down at his feet.

Ah, success.

I throw my arm around his shoulder, continuing our walk. “Now, come on. Flux doesn’t like those who are late.”
