Chapter 29 #3
With my heart ready to explode, I pulled her apart before leaning in, groaning at the taste of my wife.
My tongue swept gently across her as she cursed.
With my hand on her ass, I tugged her closer.
My tongue swirling slowly as she writhed against me, pushing into me to increase the friction.
Obliging, I pressed harder, devouring and feasting, my mind unravelling as she moaned.
I could barely hold back as I pushed first one, then two fingers inside her.
Her gasps grew more ragged. I grinned against her soft folds, while the woman I loved arched further until her muscles tightened beneath my fingers.
I moved closer, desperate to make her feel something other than anger for me, pouring every inch of my remorse into making her come.
With a cry, she broke against me, twitching as I worked her through to her close.
Standing, I kissed her, loving her moan as she tasted herself on my tongue.
My cock ached painfully. I cupped her face. ‘Can I fuck you, Sorrow?’
She pulled back, stroking her hand down my chest, her head tilted as her breaths eased. ‘I think you’ve more than earned a little reward, Elmswood.’
She squealed as I slid her off the rock, her arms gripping my neck as she wrapped those damned legs around me.
I reached down, settled myself before slipping in, gently, slowly.
Our eyes locked as her muscles clenched around my cock.
There’d been little light in the cavern where I’d first worshipped Sorrow, so I drank in every part of her.
I leaned her against the stone, making sure the moss lay under her.
‘That all right?’ She nodded, her hooded eyes still on mine. As I moved in and out of her slowly, I placed a kiss against the blush on her cheeks.
I thrust again, taking my time, relishing every spark of friction as I moved inside her.
Our damp chests heaved, her body working in tandem with mine as I increased the pace.
Her mouth trailed down my neck, fingers knotted in my hair as she pulled my head back and I cursed.
Our bodies came together, our moans growing with each thrust as the woman I loved allowed me back into her life.
I sought absolution with every movement, each kiss a plea for exoneration.
My choices had hurt her, destroyed the fledgling trust she’d placed in me and I knew this would never be enough to rebuild all I’d ruined, but, as my pace grew frantic and she shattered in my arms once more, I prayed we were cleansing my sins.
Her muscles tightened around me and I cursed as my release came, my teeth digging into her shoulder as my thrusts finally slowed.
Raising my head, my breath caught as Sorrow smiled.
Fragile shards of sun reflected in her brown eyes.
My chest swelled as all the love I held for her threatened to drown me.
I laid a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
I may not carry a gift in my veins, but I was truly blessed to have Sorrow in my arms. My mouth moved, but for once the words I sought, the ones to tell her how I’d cease to exist without her, wouldn’t form.
I pulled away, settling her on her feet before me, realising we were still standing in freezing water and slipped my hand into hers.
‘Wait,’ she said as I made my way back to our dry clothes. My brow furrowed and I opened my mouth, ready to protest, when she placed her trembling fingers over my lips. ‘I…’ She looked away and my heart dipped. Did she regret giving herself to me again? ‘I need to ask you something, Matthias.’
‘I’ll answer anything you want,’ I said, shivering. ‘But can it wait till we get to the dry clothes?’
She shook her head. Moved in closer. ‘I’ll lose my nerve by then.’
Fear spiked in my heart. I tried to smile and nod. Gods, if I lost her again…
Sorrow took my hand in hers and raised it between us.
‘I wondered…’ She took a deep breath as my pulse thundered.
‘I just thought… well, you know.’ My brows furrowed.
‘Fuck it.’ She raised her chin, the hint of a smile playing on her paling lips.
‘King Matthias Raul Elmswood of Asmar. Will you marry me?’
I tilted my head, unable to stop the grin splitting across my face. ‘Marry you?’
‘Yes. If I remember, you promised me a second wedding and I… I’d like to do it again. My terms. Our terms. Speak our vows and share them with the world, before it all goes to shit.’
Her screams echoed off the cave walls as I spun her around, almost losing my footing, before laying a searing kiss to her lips.
‘Was that ever in question? I’ll marry you again and again.
I’ll marry you each and every day till the end of time,’ I said, clutching her hand and dragging her out of the lake before she caught her death of cold and I didn’t get to make her my wife, my true wife.
I lifted her, desperate to get her into the warmth.
‘To call myself your husband is the greatest honour of my life.’
With the afternoon sun warming our skin, it was us. The real us. The Sorrow and Matthias tragedy and duty denied us from becoming. And I couldn’t keep the stupid grin from my face as Sorrow Villente lay safe in my arms and we planned our life together.
