Chapter 8

Sera

Edward’s fingers continued their exploration, tracing the line of my throat with tantalizing gentleness.

My skin tingled beneath his touch, betraying me with unwelcome sparks of pleasure.

My breath stuttered as he leaned in, his face hovering mere inches from mine.

His gaze held mine captive, intense and searching, his expression carefully guarded.

“I can feel your pulse. You’re nervous, aren’t you?” he murmured, a hint of satisfaction edging his tone.

I scoffed, then tried to bring my leg up between his thighs, but he was prepared for that. He blocked me with his knee and pinned my legs in place with his own.

“Try that again, and you’ll regret it.”

I snarled, baring my teeth, but he merely smiled, an icy, predatory grin that promised consequences.

Then his mouth crashed against mine, his kiss possessive and demanding.

His teeth scraped across my lower lip, a quick, warning nip that sent a jolt of fear and forbidden arousal coursing through me.

“We’re going to have to check her quite thoroughly to make sure that she has nothing else hidden,” Jamie said with a cock of his head and my gaze flashed in his direction.

A growl simmered at the back of my throat, but I held it back, knowing that I was at a distinct disadvantage right now.

I had to keep calm. If I was going to get out of this, I’d have to be ready to seize the opportune moment.

I wasn’t going to go down without a fight.

“Indeed,” Logan replied, his own voice thick with what I could only guess was arousal, but that couldn’t be right.

I was their enemy. I’d killed, or at least seriously injured, two of their men, and I would kill them without hesitation if I got another chance.

Yet, their touches, their expressions, and their words all told me otherwise. They didn’t see me as an enemy. They saw me as their possession, their mate.

I took a deep breath, trying to remain calm.

Edward’s mouth worked against mine, and he cupped the back of my head, holding me still.

I bit at his lip, wanting to draw blood, but he was quick.

His hand grasped my hair, pulling my head back as he growled, a low rumbling sound that reverberated in his chest. “We’ll need to teach you some manners. ”

My heart skipped several beats. I didn’t want to be their mate. I wanted to be free, to do my duty and rid the world of their kind. I was a hunter. I was meant to protect, to defend, to kill the enemy.

Them.

I wasn’t meant to be claimed by a pack of wolf shifters.

“Stop,” I demanded, but my voice sounded weak, breathless. “Let me go. I’m not your mate. You can’t just claim me like this. I don’t want this.”

Edward ignored me, his eyes boring into mine, daring me to challenge him again. “What do you think, Jamie? Should we tie her up?”

I tensed, my body going rigid at his words.

“I think we can just hold her down,” Jamie said softly, a certain dangerous edge bleeding into his tone. “I think our little mate here will learn her place quickly enough, won’t you?”

I sneered at him, my teeth bared in a snarl. “Fuck you,” I spat. “Fuck you all.”

“Perhaps,” Edward murmured. “If you’re a good girl.”

Logan’s hand caressed my cheek, his touch gentle but firm, his thumb tracing over my lips.

I glanced from Jamie on the left, to Logan at the center, to Edward to my right, trying to identify the weak link and finding none.

All three of them looked like I was their prey, and they were going to devour me.

“Yeah, fucking her sounds like just the thing,” Jamie offered, and Edward nodded in agreement.

My breath quickened, panic clawing at the edge of my consciousness, mingling with a growing heat that threatened to overwhelm my senses. They couldn’t be serious, could they?

I was a virgin. I’d had no time for dating or men throughout the course of my training.

I’d been too focused on my mission, on earning a place on this team.

And I’d never met a man I could imagine spending a single night with, let alone a lifetime.

Now I had three of them staring at me like I was their next meal.

“Let’s see what else she’s hiding,” Edward said, his hands sliding beneath the hem of my shirt, pushing the fabric up to expose my stomach.

I gulped down a breath of air, my heart hammering in my chest. The cool night air whispered against my skin, the sensation strangely heightened by my terror and the unwelcome heat of their attention.

Edward’s eyes darkened with desire as he gazed at the exposed flesh of my smooth, toned abdomen. “Lovely,” he murmured, his voice a low, deep rumble.

The three of them worked together to wrench off my coat. I tried to struggle, but a multitude of arms grabbed my wrists and shoulders and pinned me back against the wall. I didn’t know which limb belonged to whom, but it didn’t really matter.

I wasn’t going anywhere.

That realization sank in, dark and deep, and I knew that this was going to happen. There was nothing I could do to stop it.

A dark, fearful arousal settled in my lower belly, and I lifted my chin, trying to be brave.

Jamie’s hands slid over my breasts, his thumbs brushing over the layers of fabric covering my nipples, sending a jolt of unwanted pleasure through my body.

I arched into his touch involuntarily, a soft moan escaping my lips.

Immediately, I bit my lip, trying to take it back.

Trying to fight. Yet I couldn’t deny the heat that pulsed between my thighs, the wetness that dampened my panties.

I hated myself for it, but my body was responding to their touch, betraying my resolve to resist. His hands settled back in place, holding me down and I resisted one last time, but it did nothing.

Edward leaned in, his mouth hovering next to my cheek. His breath was warm, his lips curved in a smirk. “Admit it, you’re enjoying this,” he whispered, his words a rude caress against my skin.

“Fuck right off,” I whispered hoarsely, trying to save face as much as possible.

He laughed softly, his tongue darting out to trace the curve of my ear. I shivered, a gasp escaping my lips. “You can’t hide it, love. We can smell your arousal. It’s intoxicating.”

I swallowed hard, my body trembling with humiliation and heat.

I wanted to deny it, to scream and fight, but the words died on my lips as Logan’s hands lifted my shirt a bit higher.

At this point, Edward and Jamie were holding me in place to either side of me.

Logan gripped my shirt in his fists and ripped it in half.

I felt my eyes widen and my heart skip a beat, but I refused to say anything.

I would remain calm and look for the opportunity to escape.

Logan’s gaze traveled over my bare skin and then my bra, his eyes dark with desire. “Beautiful,” he murmured. “Just as I suspected.” His hands traced the contours of my body, exploring, teasing, claiming.

I tried to suppress a shudder as his fingertips smoothed over my exposed skin, but the sensation was overwhelming. I couldn’t help but arch into his touch, my body betraying me, seeking more.

“She’s so responsive,” Jamie observed, his breath hot against my ear. “We’re going to have fun breaking her in.”

Edward chuckled softly. “Maybe we can make her beg.”

My breath caught in my throat, panic and desire and humiliation mingling in a heady cocktail that left me dizzy and disoriented. Logan’s fingers traced the swell of my breasts above the edge of my bra, teasing, taunting, promising. My nipples hardened under the fabric, aching for his touch.

I wanted to fight, to scream, to tear free of their grasp, but their strength of presence, their scents, their touches were too seductive, too overwhelming. It was as if my body had a mind of its own, responding to their every caress and whispered promise.

I closed my eyes, trying to regain control, to remember my mission, my duty, but it was like trying to grasp smoke on the wind. The heat, the need consumed me, burned through my veins like liquid fire.

Logan’s fingers found the front clasp of my bra, deftly unhooking it and freeing my breasts.

I felt the cool air tease my nipples into stiff peaks, sending a shiver down my spine.

Then his hands cupped my breasts, his thumbs just grazing over the tips, sending sparks of pleasure straight to my core.

I tried to keep still, but my upper half pitched forward as much as Edward’s and Jamie’s hands allowed.

Fuck.

I wasn’t prepared for this. I’d studied wolves, their tactics, their abilities, their weaknesses, but I’d never imagined I’d end up in this situation, caught between three men—three shifters—whose touch ignited a fire within me I didn’t know how to control.

“Look at her, all flushed and trembling,” Edward whispered, his lips against my neck. “She’s loving this, even if she won’t admit it.”

“You’re fucking crazy,” I hissed, and the three of them chuckled, the sound dark and dangerous. And arousing.

Fuck.

Logan’s mouth found my breast, his tongue circling my nipple, teasing and tormenting. I couldn’t suppress the moan that escaped my lips, my back arching, pressing myself further into his eager mouth. I couldn’t understand it. I couldn’t explain why I craved their touch, why I yearned for more.

Then his hands dropped to my waist, his fingers deftly undoing my belt, then popping open the button of my pants. I gasped, a mix of panic and anticipation coursing through my veins.

“No, stop! Please don’t do this,” I breathed, but the words lacked conviction, even to my own ears.

Edward’s hand slid down my back, tracing the curve of my spine, sending shivers of pleasure through me. “You don’t really want us to stop, do you?” he asked, his voice laced with equal parts arousal and amusement.
