Chapter 9
The Spiral and the Dm
Lucas couldn’t focus.
Not on the reports.
Not on the deals.
Not on Logan yelling about someone needing to be “dealt with.”
Not even Bonnie threatening to replace him with a Roomba if he didn’t stop looking like a haunted Victorian husband.
Because all he could see… was her.
Maddison Parker.
Cherry red dress.
Curves for days.
Mouth like sin.
And eyes that knew.
She was circling him. Like a lioness that had finally found her favorite prey.
And Lucas?
Lucas was prey with a hard on and a guilt complex.
By nightfall, he was in the basement. Lights dim. Ring light glowing. Phone in hand.
The familiar burn of double lives choking him.
@HelmetDaddy_XO opens on the screen.
Her DM. Still there. Waiting.
> Are you ever gonna reply, daddy? Or just keep ghosting me like all the other pretty disappointments?
Lucas’s thumb hovered. He hadn’t replied in months.
Because she was obsessive.
Because she was too much.
Because she sounded like someone who’d ruin his life.
Because he liked it.
And now he knew exactly who she was. Maddison Parker. His assistant. His torment.
His everything.
He cracked his knuckles. Typed. Deleted. Typed again.
@HelmetDaddy_XO:
Been busy, kitten. Didn’t mean to ghost you. Missed your mouth.
Send.
Regret.
The little “Read” tick turned blue.
Seconds. Eternal.
Then
@BookLover69:
well well well. Daddy finally remembers me. Too bad I've moved on. jk. I'm literally wet. say something filthy.
Lucas exhaled like he’d been punched.
His fingers moved before his brain could stop them.
@HelmetDaddy_XO:
Go into the bathroom. Lift your dress. Show me what I missed.
He knew he was spiraling. Knew this was the kind of choice that ended dynasties and destroyed empires.
But if he couldn’t keep her away? Then he’d drag her closer.
All the way in.
