Chapter Nine
Orchid
Wait. What? How was this happening?
“Ah, yes,” the burly Russian said, almost good-naturedly. “No jurisdiction here because here I’m Mr. Sergey. They’re just ordinary men. Now, I’m losing patience, a show, or I…” He glanced at the men around them, who, on cue, raised their guns.
“You don’t need jurisdiction,” she cried. “You’re The KAI Empire.”
“And they have guns, and we don’t,” River said. “If we knew this was going to happen, we would have come prepared.”
Oh, god, they were all going to die.
They were going to die. They were going to die. They were going to die.
“Fine,” Cash said. “Where do we go?”
“What? No. You can’t spank me . In front of people . Please, Mr. Bratva…”
But the man had already turned around, and Brent, River, and Cash fell in step behind him.
Oh god.
Okay. Her legs shaking, she hurried after them, wedging herself between them.
“What are we going to do?” she whispered frantically as they followed the Russian up a long staircase to the fourth level.
“We’re going to spank you and give the man a show just like he wants, then we’re going to leave with our lives intact.”
“This is all your fault. You weren’t supposed to wake up until tomorrow morning. I gave you more sedatives than a damn dinosaur would need.” She’d catered for their height, their muscularity, their strength, even. They were supposed to be fairly comatose.
“A baby dinosaur, maybe. You shouldn’t have underestimated us, Orchid,” Brent said. “Also, didn’t you realize the danger you were putting yourself in when you left the house without us? You have a marriage target on your back, in case you forgot.”
“I was going to be quick.”
“You weren’t supposed to leave,” River said, softly dangerous.
“Yes, well. Argh,” she grumbled. She should have shot them with a tranquilizer gun instead. Now, she was going to get spanked in public.
“You better not let them see those earrings,” River warned. How did he know her earrings hid a tiny camera in them, which was ingenious as far as she was concerned?
“Yeah, rumor has it the penalty for breaching privacy in the House of Saber is a six-foot-long dildo up your ass,” Cash said, with a serious expression on his face.
What? A six-foot dildo. She was still a virgin, for damn sake.
She removed her earrings and had no idea what to do with them. Crap.
“Tell your friend you’re okay. You’re with us,” Brent said.
Arg. She relayed the message to the camera. At least they allowed her to do that, or Lizzie would have stormed the place looking for her. Brent held out his hand. She looked at him before she dropped her earrings into his palm, and he slipped them into his pants pocket.
Oh, god help her get through this. They walked down a corridor, passing a series of rooms with glass walls where people were really doing it while other people watched. But she was too frazzled to even take a longer look. She might have even passed her subject, the real reason she was in the club in the first place, and she wouldn’t have known it.
“None of this would have happened if you hadn’t made a scene and just let me do my job,” she said, still furious with them.
“Catching cheaters? In a BDSM club, do you know how fucking dangerous that is?” Brent asked.
“No one knows who I am, and I take self-defense classes, so I’m up to date with protecting myself. And I know how to use pepper spray.” It was true the necklace around her neck with the vintage oval-shaped stone contained pepper spray. She wasn’t stupid.
They followed the owner of the House of Saber as he entered some sort of arena. In the middle of it all was a glass box. Oh boy. She couldn’t explain the tightening of her nipples, the heat between her thighs, so she put it down to fear and nothing else.
They were directed into a bedroom size glass case, furnished with a massive bed, thick Persian rugs, and beautiful handcrafted furniture. But that wasn’t what caught her eye.
Orchid’s gaze remained fixed on a leather bench that looked like some contraption from the Victorian era. A spanking bench. She’d seen enough of them to know what they were, but she’d never been on this side of one before.
And now all the straps and metal clasps were enough to make her want to pass out.
The flesh on her butt quivered, and heat stole up her entire body, making it nearly impossible for her to breathe.
Yeah, it was a hard no for her. She was the biggest crybaby when it came to pain, and this was something she would gladly skip.
She turned around—her intention was to get the hell out of there immediately, but she bumped straight into Cash, her hands instantly going up to his hard and sculpted chest to the strong beat of his heart.
“Going somewhere?” he asked politely, his own hands resting on her hips. His touch scorched her skin right through her clothes as she drowned in his azure-colored gaze.
No.
She stepped out of his embrace and instead found her backward retreat blocked by River’s hard chest. He spun her around, his hands on her hips, exactly where Cash had touched her. Her breath stuttered to her lips as she looked up into his dusky gray eyes. The ache in her nipples quadrupled. The thin band of the panties she wore nestled too closely, making her aware of the folds of her pussy.
No. No.
She pushed herself out of his grasp and was instantly met with Brent, his gaze as dark as a forest at night, drawing her in against her will. She couldn’t deny it anymore. The throb in her nipples drew a path straight down to her lower stomach. And, for some reason, she was wet, soaking wet.
This was not supposed to be happening.
Brent placed his hands on her hip, sealing his touch in with both Cash’s and River’s and singeing the little thread of sanity she had left.
No. No. No.
This was not supposed to be happening.
“We better get started,” Brent said as he leaned down toward her, his breath caressing her neck. “The man is watching, and he wants a show,” he murmured softly in her ear.
Oh god. The man, the Bratva boss. She had completely forgotten about him. He was the reason they were in this glass cage in the first place. They were there against their will. But they—Brent, River, and Cash—were as opposed to it as she was. All of them didn’t want this collectively.
Instantly, she felt her body relax, her senses returning, and soon, the heat between her legs would die down as well, she was sure.
They had a reason for being here.
They were being forced.
Phew. That was a close call. She swallowed hard, in both relief and terror. If Brent hadn’t pulled her back to reality in time, reminding her of their logistics, they would have seen firsthand the effect they had on her body and mistaken it for attraction.
She was so not attracted to them at all.
Like, not even a little bit.
