Chapter 37
Keith
My pulse raced as the car got further and further away from the city. They weren’t taking me to the cop shop. They were on a whole new level of bullshit. We rode roughly fifteen minutes down an old, windy highway until we pulled into the driveway of an abandoned house. As I stared up at the structure, I recognized the place from when I was in my early twenties. It was supposed to be haunted, and Taven and I had taken a couple of girls there for fun. Why it hadn’t been torn down was beyond me. Furthermore, I had no idea why the cops would take me there of all places. Whatever was about to happen wasn’t going to be pleasant.
Yanking the door open, Chin grabbed me by my shirt and pulled me out of the vehicle. I fell to the ground, groaning upon impact.
“What the fuck?” I cried. I was answered with a foot to my side.
“I know it’s you, you sick fuck!” roared Chin as he kicked me again.
Gasping for air, I rolled onto my stomach. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
A boot stomped down on my back, pushing the last bit of air out of my lungs. Fighting to catch my breath, I looked up and got a boot to the face. “Confess!” shouted Chin.
Warm blood dripped from my nose, and my head was throbbing. I still had a hard time breathing. Rolling to my side, I screamed, “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“You killed them, didn’t you? Didn’t you, you sick fuck?!” His foot connected with my jaw. My tongue felt like it was on fire as a tooth pierced the flesh.
“I didn’t kill anyone!” I spit blood onto the gravel.
A kick landed on the back of my head. I was dizzy, barely able to figure out up and down. Panting, I pushed up on all fours and slowly got to my feet. My body swayed, and I wiped my lip. When I went to lunge at Detective Chin, arms wrapped around my upper body, pinning my limbs to my side. As I struggled to break free, Chin punched my face over and over again. I lost count. By the time he stopped to rest his hand, I could barely stand upright. The arms released me, and I fell to my knees.
Chin charged again. I threw my hands up, but he pushed them to the side and struck me in the gut. I could count those. He clocked me four times before I fell face-first into the cold dirt.
The beating continued with stomps to my back, head, and side. I couldn’t move. My brain was fuzzy, and my body screamed with pain. I clenched my teeth as Chin lifted my head by my hair. He crouched only inches from my face. “I know it’s you, McKnight, you motherfucker. I’ll tell you what. I’ll get you before you get me. You three little pigs are going to be taken down by the big bad wolf.”
I spit on him; speckles of my blood landed on his face. Taking a few steps back, Chin forced me to my knees, pulled his gun, and pointed it between my eyes. His nostrils flared as his eyes darted to his partner. I was too weak and sore to do anything. The pistol pressed to my lips. “Open, you freak.”
I had no choice but to comply, or my teeth would shatter against the hard metal. He shoved the barrel deep into my mouth, drawing tears from my eyes. I tried to pull back, but strong arms held me still.
Chin chuckled, forcing the gun down my throat. “No gag reflex, huh? I always knew you were a filthy little cock sucker.”
“Alright, I think we got our point across,” muttered the other cop.
Chin glared at his partner and pressed the pistol deeper into my throat, forcing my head down. “What? The little homo likes it.” After a few long moments, he pulled it out.
I spat on the ground, leaving dribbles of bloody saliva on my chin. “You’re just mad I never sucked your dick.”
I regretted it the instant he slammed the pistol into the side of my face. The man behind me let go, and I crumpled to the ground. Chin brushed the hair from my face with the wet barrel. “I should fucking kill you, but I’d rather you get gang raped in prison every night.”
“Leave him be, Chin. We can’t kill him, man. We need evidence. He got the point and knows we’re on his trail. Leave him be.”
Chin scowled but took the hint. Kicking my stomach one more time, he spat on me and returned to his car.
