Farlen

Y esterday was so fun. We spent all day in the house and no one had any classes. Today, though, all the guys are grumbly and keep looking at me funny. I don’t know what happened, but they don’t seem happy. Faith sent me a message and told me she’d be here soon. So I went and took a bath. I turned on the jets for a bit and they felt nice.

When I get out of the bath, I wrap myself in a towel and walk into my room. Faith is sitting there on my bed already. She grins at me.

“Good! A blank canvas for me to work my magic on. Now let me see this dress that you’re wearing.” I walk to the closet and pull it out. She nods her head.

“I can work with that. Now come here and sit down. Uhhh, you’re not going to wear a bra in that dress, not with the open back on it. Why don’t you put on some clothes real quick while I think about what I want to do with your hair?”

She starts digging around in all the things that weren’t on my bed before. When I come out, there is a chair from the big table in here, I didn’t hear anyone come in.

“Come here and sit. I know what I want to do!” I go sit down and she has a metal tube that she starts putting in my hair. “Oh, my Gods, you are going to look so beautiful when I am done with you.” We spend a long time with her doing things to my hair. She sprays stuff in it and it smells funny. Then she starts doing things to my face. She smiles and puts her hands on her hips .

“Okay, my magic is done. Go get your dress and I’ll help you put it on. Remember, no bra! And no peeking in the mirror! I’m going to get dressed real quick while you gather your things.”

The sun coming through my curtains isn’t as bright as it was. I peek through them quickly and it looks like the sun has started to go down. How long was I sitting there? I walk into my closet to get my dress. I bring out the shoes with spikes and the flat ones like I normally wear. I don’t know which one to get. Faith is putting on shoes that go up to her knees and they have spikes on the bottom of them, too. I like those shoes; they cover up her legs, but they still make her taller. She stands up and is in a black dress; it is long like mine, but when she walks there is a rip in the side of it and her leg shows.

She sees me holding the shoes and points to the ones with spikes on them. I guess she thinks I should wear those. She knows more about this than me, so I set down my flat shoes. She holds out the dress and has me step into it; it feels nice. She steps back and claps her hands.

“You look amazing! I can’t wait for those guys to start drooling over you. Now get your shoes on and let’s go dance!”

I put the spiked shoes on and I still feel a little wobbly when I walk. Faith grabs my arm and laughs.

“Yeah, they take some getting used to, but you don’t want the bottom of your dress to drag on the ground.” I look down and the dress is almost touching the floor. She walks us out of the room, and it goes quiet. The guys are all standing around in really nice clothes. Each of them is wearing a black coat, with a thing around their neck. Each of the things is a different color. I look at each of them, it is the same color as their eyes! They have a white shirt under their coat and thing on their neck. My mouth feels like I have had no water in a few days, and my stomach down low starts to pulse.

Each of them steps to me and tells me how pretty I look. Xander looks at Connor. “Your Mom is officially my fourth favorite lady on this planet. Farlen is obviously first, my sister second, Mom third, then your mom.” Connor smiles at him. When they talk to each other like that it makes my heart feel so light.

“Come on boys, you can stare at Farlen all night, but at the dance!” She starts pulling on Vashu to try to get them to go to the door. I take a step towards her and the guys all move with me. She does the thing where her eyes go back in her head and she shakes her head.

I don’t know where we are going, but Faith takes us to a place I haven’t been before. It is inside the school, and the room is really big. There is a spot on it that is higher up than the rest, like the other big room I was in, but this one doesn’t have a lot of chairs. Small tables are set around the room and some chairs with them. There are people sitting around, some of them, others are standing and talking.

I look around the room, and it doesn’t look like this room has a roof over it. I can see all the white lights in the sky here. Faith takes us into the room more and heads to a table and stops at it. She looks around and nods.

“Okay, I’m going to go dance. You boys behave yourself and don’t mess up all my hard work until later!”

She hugs me and goes out to where people are dancing. A guy walks up to her and starts to dance with her. I don’t know him, but she doesn’t seem to mind dancing with him. I smile around at all my guys. So far, this isn’t that bad!

Connor looks down at his phone and frowns. He holds up one finger and walks away. I start to go after him, but Xander stops me.

“Not-uh snowflake, he’ll be right back. Now why don’t we go out there and dance?” His eyebrows do a little wiggle thing again and I laugh at him and let him take me out to dance.
