Farlen
I don’t know why Vashu was so afraid! Dancing with him was nice, and nothing bad happened. I kept feeling eyes on me, and every time I looked to see where they were coming from, the one lady with the yellow eyes keeps looking at me through slits in her eyes. The music stops and Vashu stops dancing with me. I look around and Rhi is standing on the raised part of the room. He has something in his hands.
“Most of you know me as Instructor Fry, and if you don’t, then count yourself fucking lucky. But I’m not here to talk about me. I’m here to talk about the fucking most amazing woman I have ever met. Farlen, your strength and compassion for others is unparalleled. It doesn’t matter what this fucked up world keeps throwing at you, you find a way to smile, and when you smile, it lights up the entire fucking room. I look forward to a lifetime of seeing you smile gorgeous, so this song’s for you.”
There’s a bright light that shines on me and Rhi starts to sing. His voice feels like it wraps around my heart and squeezes it. He starts singing about how he loves me, and I can’t stop crying. When he sings about the part about me being beautiful when I’m crying, people around me laugh, because I’m crying now. As he finishes his song, people start to clap. Then some people start to scream. I look around for the guys, but they are talking to each other. I look back to the spot Rhi just was, and he’s gone.
I turn around again to start walking towards the guys and I see something shiny and metal flying through the air at me. Before I can do anything, it hits me in the boob. I look down and there is a knife sticking out of me. I turn back to the guys and it feels like a million more are stuck in my body.
There’s a ripping sensation in my back, and it feels like I am lifted up off the ground. My beast is thrashing around inside of me. I can feel its loud screams in my head. I can’t hear anything other than my beast.
I am sorry for what we must do; the bindings aren’t free and if we do not change now, it will take us too long to heal you.
Pain like nothing I’ve ever known before consumes my entire body. I feel all the bones in my body break at the same time. I try to scream, but no sound comes out. It feels like it goes on for a long time.
Suddenly, the pain stops and I feel like I am inside my happy place. I’m too tired to keep my eyes open, so I fall asleep.
