Letters

My dearest Castien,

You have ignited my curiosity. What is this other option you speak of? I have ruminated painstakingly on my situation and have not come up with a solution, but perhaps your Gift has given you insight that I do not have.

Do you mean to start a war with the Wild Holm by killing my father?

Perhaps I could run away to Enlight and start my life over as a merchant’s apprentice.

I don’t think I’d make a great saleswoman, but any life is better than one where I have to marry someone of my father’s choosing.

I jest, but I confess I would consider almost anything opposite my current predicament.

I must express my gratitude for your willingness to stay by my side. I do not pretend to know why you do, but I am thankful nonetheless. All I can give in return is the same promise.

You have proven to me that though there is much I don’t know about you, I know you. And you are someone I want to stand by.

Faithfully,

Wren
