The Battle Coming Up

Crank straightened up and nodded. “There is a good possibility it might.” He looked down at her and said, “But we can and will defend ourselves because when they show up, they aren’t gonna find us unprepared.

We’ll be here waiting for them with more fire power than they might expect.

And dear ole Dad is gonna find out we aren’t the pushovers he thinks we are. ”

Bouncer stepped up and smiled. “Some of us have been fighting for longer than we care to admit, little missy. We’ve all got military training, well most of us do. We aren’t afraid of what’s coming. In fact, we’re looking forward to it.” He looked over at Titus. “My gut is never wrong.”

“What do you mean, Dad?” Titus asked him.

“Well, when we found his woman yesterday,” Bouncer explained as he motioned to Ursala.

“Then she told us what Crank’s dad would do if he found them.

I figured his father would bring a small army.

So, I called my brother. He’s bringing most of his MC.

They all left yesterday afternoon.” He rolled his eyes.

“So we’re the ones who have the head start on this. ”

Titus whistled and looked over at Crank. “Crap, I think your father and his army are gonna get their collective asses kicked.” He laughed.

Ursala trembled a little and stared at him. “How can you laugh about this?” she asked in dismay.

Reno stared at him too. “Ok, not a small brain, but you are a little goofy.”

Titus laughed a bit harder.

Reno shook her head. “You guys are scary, you know that?”

“Little girl, we have every right to defend our home and our lives,” Titus told her. “ And yes, we might like a good fight every once in a while, I admit.”

The men standing there all nodded and growled almost happily.

Titus nodded his head at them and went on to tell Reno, “You and your mother are part of our family now and we protect our own.”

“Where do you want them to stay while this is going down?” Bouncer asked Crank.

“Let’s put them in the pit. Dad will never find them there.”

Bouncer shook his head. “Ain’t no way he will even get that far inside the compound.”

“You’ll come for us when this is over, right?” Ursala had to ask Crank.

Crank wrapped her in his arms and said, “You better believe I will. But I will not risk either of you again.”

Ursala closed her eyes and whispered, “You didn’t know about Frankie until he’d already struck. That wasn’t your fault. But yeah, Reno and I will go into this pit until this is over, just make sure you are still alive to come and get us.”

Crank smiled and looked down at her. “Nothing, not my dad or even a bullet will ever keep me from coming for you. Even if I have to crawl on my hands and knees to you from the depths of hell, I will be back for you.” Then he leaned in to kiss her.

Titus, Bouncer, Pyrite, Hot Rod and the rest of them, all groaned in disgust.

Reno dabbed at a cut on her lip as she looked around at the men. “Y'all are just jealous.” She snickered then raised her eyes upwards. “Still, I’m not gonna look either.”

They all laughed.

Titus whistled and said, “Lock and load boys. Let’s get ready for a fight.

We’re going need everyone in their places before the enemy gets here.

You all know what you have to do but let them take the first shot.

Let them think we’re weak and unprepared.

Then we’ll drop the hammer on them and when the smoke clears, we’ll see who is still standing. ”

The men all cheered.

Reno shook her head then she winced a bit. “You are all bonkers.”

Suddenly, they all heard a loud roaring as the sound of bike engines came rumbling up up the long driveway.

Moving out to the front and down the steps, the entire club stared at the group coming up the road. Most of the Marauders already had their weapons in their hands and were crouching down or getting into battle position.

Titus raised his arms up and called out to his men, “Hold your fire, boys! You are seeing a phenomenon right here.” He looked over at his dad as he grinned.

Bouncer laughed and nodded as he yelled out at the bikers riding in, “Roll Tide!

Reno came up and peeked out from around Titus’ massive body at the large group of men on motorcycles. She then read the patches these new men wore aloud in confusion, “The Crimson Tide?”
