49. Naina

Chapter Forty-Nine

NAINA

I want to take you on a beach vacation.

We both don’t like the ocean.

We’re not going in the ocean. I just want to see you in a bikini.

I actually don’t like beaches that much. Take me somewhere snowy.

You hate me, don’t you?

Lol

Even though it was June, I had to wear a sweater outside. It had been raining for the last two days and there was a chill to the air that made me shiver.

At least it wasn’t hot. That was the one thing I loved about California. Perfect weather all year round.

Nick handed me a cup of coffee and I thanked him before we continued walking. Grayson followed us like a shadow.

“Does he just follow you around everywhere?” Nick asked.

“Or sit outside the room when I’m there. Kash has been extra vigilant since the accident.”

For the last few days, I had barely seen Kash. He came in late, and I was only aware of him slipping into bed next to me and wrapping his arm around me.

Apparently, the delay Lex had caused was sending everyone into a tizzy, but the opening was only three days away.

Kash wouldn’t tell me why Lex had caused the delay, just that Lex’s family were important investors.

Lex’s name had sounded familiar to me the night we met so I had looked him up.

He was the one who sued SFV; the one whose lawyers I anonymously sent those financial statements to.

I was surprised he still wanted to work with SFV.

“How’s that going, by the way?” Nick asked.

I looked up at him, the wind playing through his dark hair.

“My marriage?” I questioned.

He nodded.

“It’s fine. Great.” Less confusing than it was before. Though the end was still on the horizon. What was holding Kash back if he wanted me?

“I still don’t understand what you see in him,” Nick said.

I shrugged. “He gets me. Have you seen Kat?”

Nick’s steps faltered as his eyes shot to me. I arched an eyebrow.

“From afar. She saw me, and went in the other direction.”

I shook my head. These two needed to sort out their issues.

“Exactly how long is that going to continue?”

“Whenever Kat decides to stop it,” he said.

I smacked his arm lightly. “It’s not Kat’s fault. She doesn’t need to stop anything.”

Nick looked over his shoulder at Grayson, who was a few paces behind us.

Then he leaned closer, dropping his voice.

“In all seriousness, why the hell did you tell Kash I was an option for you?”

That had me reeling. “What? How do you know that?”

I suspected that’s why Kash had invited him, but had he told Nick as well?

“Why do you think he called me here? Apparently, he thought you would be better off with me.”

I opened my mouth in surprise and then closed it, shaking my head. Sometimes, I didn’t understand my husband.

He called Nick here, but still chased me to the club to get me back.

He remembered me the whole time and still didn’t tell me!

The way I saw it, I could either marinate in the questions or just accept that Kash would tell me whenever he thought it was suitable. It was going to drive me crazy.

“I was upset with him,” I said, answering Nick’s original question. “I’m not anymore. And I told him I think of you like a brother. He just doesn’t listen.”

My phone chimed in my pocket, and I pulled it out to see a message from Kash.

You’ve been gone for hours.

I’ve been gone for twenty minutes. We’re just around the block.

Smiling I put the phone back in my pocket and took a sip of my coffee. An idea had been percolating in my brain for a couple of days and I needed Vera’s help to actualize it.

I found Vera in one of the conference rooms with the door locked.

I knocked on the glass door and she looked up from her laptop. She didn’t smile but her posture relaxed, and she stood up, coming to open the door.

“I brought you lunch.”

I held up a bag from a restaurant Grayson said was her favorite. She saw the name on the side of the bag and took it from me, stepping aside to let me in the room.

“I might love you,” she said.

Well, not the Sutherland I was hoping to hear those words from, though I would take it.

“Actually, I have a selfish reason for coming here,” I said, pushing my hair behind my ear. “I need a favor.”

Vera frowned. “Why didn’t you ask Kash?”

“It’s a favor for Kash. A surprise.”

Vera stopped in the process of opening the take-out bag.

“I’m listening.”

I thought what I was requesting would be out of reach, and Vera would laugh in my face. Instead, she nodded.

“Consider it done.”

Being dirty, filthy rich apparently did have its upsides.

I thanked Vera, and went in search of my husband. Finding Kash was a lot easier than finding Vera had been because everyone knew where Kash was at all times.

The man couldn’t get a moment’s peace.

I found Kash in the restaurant on the mezzanine level.

The restaurant was only open to the hotel guests right now. More people had checked in in the past two days; friends, business partners, investors.

All the people I should probably avoid.

Kash was standing in the middle of the restaurant, talking to his stepmother.

I was surprised to see Crystal standing next to her, wearing a pastel green sheath dress with her hair twisted up into a bun.

The outfit aged her beyond her years, and the flat look on her face made me wonder if she even wanted to be here.

I saw her at the brunch and around the hotel, though never without her parents. She preferred to keep to herself or hide behind things.

I wasn’t surprised to see Leslie there.

I stepped further into the restaurant, to pull Kash away from this conversation, when his stepmother’s words caused me to pause.

“You have to drop this ridiculous sham of a marriage, Kassius,” Diana said.

“This is obviously a ploy to get out of marrying Crystal, and perhaps we shouldn’t have enforced this decision on you. Just divorce her , end this game, and I’ll talk to your father.”

Did these people even understand the meaning of autonomy? My parents had been strict, and they never dictated who I could be friends with. They kept a close tab on us and knew all our friends. They protected us and never enforced their will on us.

These people didn’t even want their children to think for themselves.

No wonder Kash never wanted to get married and preferred to be lonely.

If it wasn’t Edward’s abuse, then it was the fact that the horrid man wanted to control everything to the point where Kash didn’t even recognize himself.

Steeling myself, I walked up behind Kash and slipped my hand through his arm.

He turned, irritation shining in his eyes, and clearing away as soon as our eyes met.

“Goldie,” he murmured.

A surefire confirmation of having caught feelings was the fact that the nickname didn’t even annoy anymore. Any time he said it now, it caused a flutter in my belly.

“Hi, honey.”

I looked at the wicked sisters—well, the two wicked sisters and Crystal. I still didn’t know what her deal was, and why she never said anything.

Was she a victim in this as much as Kash?

“Diana, Crystal.” I nodded at them before shifting my eyes to Leslie. Frowning in feigned confusion, I tilted my head.

Leslie’s face turned red in anger.

“Leslie,” she snapped. “We met in New York? A week ago, at brunch? Kash and I were almost engaged?”

“Oh, right,” I laughed. “I totally forgot that you existed.”

Leslie turned a brighter red and I felt a twinge of guilt for being mean, which I ignored.

“And if I were you, I would stop holding on to that almost engagement because Kash and I are married.”

I raised my left hand between us, wiggling my fingers to show off the ring.

Kash pressed a smile into my shoulder under the disguise of a kiss. I didn’t want to be mean. It was Leslie who was here vying for the attention of a married man.

I thought I’d made my position as Kash’s wife clear to her in New York.

“We were having a private conversation with Kash.” Diana sneered at me. “If you wouldn’t mind.”

“Oh, that’s alright. I only came to ask if Kash has time to go shopping with me.”

I had Kash’s undivided attention now. My husband never looked anything less than runway ready.

Seriously, if he hadn’t been a businessman, he could have easily made it as a model or followed his mother to Hollywood.

His dark, slightly wavy hair was always perfectly made, his suits always wrinkle free even at the end of the day.

Right now, though, he looked less than runway ready.

His suit jacket had been discarded somewhere, his shirtsleeves were rolled up to expose his veiny forearms, he had clearly been running his fingers through his hair.

God, he was sexy.

“You know you can buy whatever you want,” he said. “You don’t need me.”

The black card he had given me was burning a hole in my purse as we spoke.

The wicked sisters hadn’t moved an inch, clearly too engrossed in this conversation. I lowered my voice just a tad because I wanted them to overhear while pretending it was a private conversation.

“I don’t have any nightwear left because you ripped my last nightdress, so I wanted to go out and buy some.”

Funny because I’d taken to sleeping naked in our bed.

I could have said anything and Kash would have gotten that same sly smile on his face. In a lot of ways, he reminded me of Kat, who was always willing to go along with or do anything.

“Why would we do that when I am going to rip them off you again?”

Someone made a choking noise, and I wasn’t sure if it was me or one of the wicked sisters. I’d started this so I needed to carry forward.

“Because it’s proper and decent.”

Kash made a humming noise, which I assumed was his agreement. I saw the barest hint of a smile before his mouth descended on mine, his hand wrapping around the back of my neck to hold me in place.

His tongue stroked against mine like it was my clit and said bundle of nerves pulsed with desire. I moaned into his mouth, bracing a hand against his chest to hold myself steady.

The kiss ended almost as quickly as it had begun. Kash rested his forehead against mine, our rough breaths mingling together.

“That wasn’t proper or decent,” I whispered.

“I never claimed to be either, Goldie.”

He arched an eyebrow, and I immediately thought of his hand in my panties while we admired the Impressionists at the Met. My face heated with a blush, and Kash’s eyes darkened.

“We’re done here.” His tone broke no arguments. If the wicked sisters thought they stood a chance, his glare must have killed their hope.

“What am I going to tell your father?” Diana asked.

I tightened my grip on Kash’s arm, offering my silent support. No doubt Kash spent a majority of his day around his father, and Edward was probably as vile as ever. The only thing I could offer him was this.

“My father doesn’t need anyone to speak for him, least of all his wife.”

Diana’s mouth snapped shut, and she pursed her lips in disapproval and anger. Taking my hand in his, Kash led us out of the restaurant.

“That woman gets on my last nerve,” he mumbled.

In the mezzanine lobby, Kash pressed the button to call the elevator.

“You didn’t have to do that.” He nodded towards the restaurant.

“I don’t need an excuse to kiss you.”

To prove it, I gave him a quick, teasing peck on the lips. And another one. And another one. On the third one, he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me against his body.

His mouth firm against mine, Kash dragged me into the elevator and pushed me against the wall.

“Kash, there are cameras,” I murmured against his mouth.

He hummed, nipping at my bottom lip. “When has that stopped us before?”

“Did you like laying your claim on me in front of Leslie?”

He tweaked my nipple with his thumb and forefinger, and I moaned into his mouth.

My hips jerked forward to grind my pussy on his erection. The ache between my legs was bad.

I didn't care there were people probably watching this security footage.

I wanted him to fuck me.

Wrapping a leg around Kash’s waist, I held him secure against me.

“I did.”

“I’ve never seen her so angry. She really doesn’t like you.”

“The feeling is mutual.”

A hand skated up my thigh and under my dress, pushing into my panties. Kash’s eyes glittered with lust and triumph.

“Look at how wet this cunt is.” He pushed a finger through my entrance while his thumb massaged my clit. “It seems I have been a bad husband, neglecting my wife’s needs.”

“You should fix your mistake,” I said.

The elevator stopped and the doors dinged open. Kash pulled us out into the hallway and through our room door in record time.

As soon as the door closed, he pressed me against it. His mouth met mine in a hungry kiss, the lengths of our bodies pushed against each other.

“I’m going to fuck you now, Naina. And I’m going to apologize now because it’s not going to be gentle.”

“Yes, fine, just do it.”

My fingers fumbled with his belt buckle, unbuttoning his pants and lowering his zipper. The head of his cock popped out of the waistband of his boxer briefs. I reached for it, wrapping my hand around the hot, hard length of him.

Kash cursed, his hips jerking forward.

“Baby, I need to come inside you.”

“I want that, too.”

Kash had me bent over the couch in an instant, his hands pulling my panties down but leaving them around my thighs. The elastic digging into my overheated, sensitive flesh created such sweet pain.

He thrust into me in one swift movement, and I cried out, my body shifting forward.

My fingers tightened on the couch cushion to steady myself.

The fullness of having him inside me, to be joined with him in this way, the feeling was like no other I had ever experienced and every time he entered me, it left me reeling.

“You have the most perfect cunt, Naina,” Kash whispered. “It takes my cock so well.”

“Maybe you just have the perfect cock for me.”

A growl met my ears as Kash pulled out and thrust into me again. He set a brutal, angry pace, his hands gripping my waist hard enough to leave bruises.

“That’s right, it is. The only cock that will fuck you just the way you need it. No one else is going to have you like this. And this tight, perfect cunt was made for me. I want to hear you scream my name when you come, Naina.”

He ripped at my panties, the elastic snapping against my thighs, though I barely felt the pain. Kash pushed one of my legs onto the arm of the couch, spreading me further for him.

“Kash,” I whispered. “Go deeper.”

He grasped my hips, angling them to meet his thrusts.

My other foot left the ground, the only thing keeping me steady was my grip on the couch and his hands.

It was a strange feeling, being almost weightless as he fucked me. It made me feel like I was something made for his pleasure.

One of his hands slipped down to play with my clit and my pussy clamped down onto this cock to the point of pain.

I couldn’t have stopped myself from coming even if I had wanted to. My eyes rolled back into my head.

“Kash!”

My body clenched so tightly I tried to get away from him.

“Oh, no. No. Stay on my cock.”

“Kash, oh my god. Oh my god.”

I came again, my body tightening and locking. I muffled my scream in a pillow. Kash wasn’t too far behind me, the warmth of his come flooding inside me, filling me up.

The sounds of our harsh breathing filled the room. My body went limp with exhaustion; I didn’t even want to get up to clean. I wanted to crawl onto this couch and go to sleep.

Kash pressed a kiss on the small of my back, just above the curve of my ass. He trailed kisses up my body until his body was laid on top of me.

“Are you okay?” His lips feathered over my ear.

“My brain’s gone.”

He chuckled lowly and pressed a kiss below my ear.

“Come on, let’s clean up.”

He pulled out of me, and I felt the mess we had created leaking out of me.

“Fuck, that’s hot.” Kash dragged two fingers up my thigh, catching his come as it leaked out of me, and pushed it back into my pussy. I shivered.

Lifting me into his arms, he carried me into the bathroom and set me on the countertop. Grabbing a washcloth, he ran it under warm water. Gently, he cleaned me up.

“This wasn’t my plan when I came looking for you,” I said.

“What was your plan?” He dropped the washcloth in the basket that room service would clear away.

“I want to take you somewhere tonight.”

That caught his attention, his eyes alighting with curiosity.

“Where?”

I shook my head. “You’ll have to wait and see.”
