More Than Words – By Crystal Perkins #5
Once the waiter leaves with our orders and confirmation we’re doing the wine pairings, I bring up what he was saying to me before we were interrupted.
“Were you trying to tell me you love me?”
“Yeah. I was. I am. I love you.”
“I love you, too. So, if you want to make love, we can do that first. Then, you need to fuck me hard and fast like in a romance novel where the MC can’t get enough of his woman.”
“We may not make it into work tomorrow.”
“Speak for yourself. I can survive a day on caffeine. If you can’t bounce back, I’ll make excuses for you,” I tell him with a shrug and a smirk of my own for once.
“Baby, I once got hit fifteen times in two periods of hockey. My ribs had to be taped and my fingers splinted, and I still went back out and kicked ass in the third. I can work after taking you over and over again all night.”
“I guess we better eat up, then.”
Oscar
We took our desserts to go. Dinner was wonderful, but not as good as the pussy I’m eating right now. Bel is spread out on her dining room table, and I’m feasting.
“Let me suck you off, Oz,” she pleads, using the nickname I told her my friends call me.
“No, Isabel. Your pussy’s getting my dick tonight. Maybe I’ll let your mouth play in the morning.”
She moans as I twist my tongue inside her while my thumb presses on her clit. My cock is leaking in the condom I already put on as it bobs against my abs. I’m waiting for her to get closer.
“I’m close.”
I slide two fingers into her at once because I know she’s wet enough, lapping at her with my tongue while I keep up the pressure.
She screams my name, and I’m more than ready.
Removing my fingers, I stand, pull her legs around my hips, and I slam into her to the hilt. She screams even louder, and I still.
“Shit, did I hurt you?”
“No, dammit. Move. Please just move.”
I slowly thrust in and out of her and she growls. Literally growls.
“I’m trying to be romantic.”
“Fucking me like we both need you to is romantic.”
I trust what she’s telling me and take her with a hard, fast strokes. Her back is arching and she’s crying out with every thrust. My spine is tingling, and I don’t know how much longer I can hold back.
“Come again for me, Bel. Cover my cock in your cum.”
She arches so high, she has to put her hands underneath her to support her body as she comes.
I let go and call her name as I follow her right over.
I turn us so she collapses on top of me, and try to recover from the most intense orgasm of my life.
Damn, I love this woman. I just have one more thing I need to do before we go for round two.
“Want to go to a gala with me on Saturday? We’d have to fly out Friday afternoon,” I ask.
Bel
I cannot believe Oscar asked me so late to go to this gala with him in Las Vegas.
It’s not like I had an evening gown lying around.
Or someone lined up to water my plants. But there was no way I was going to say no.
I knew the gala was going on, because I am invited to it every year, with a free seat at Maggie’s table.
But I always thought I’d feel out of place here in the Griffin family mansion.
I still feel out of place, even though my friend Stella, who is an in-demand stylist, told me my floral appliqued gown with the elbow-length sleeves is perfect for me.
She did my hair and makeup and even lent me better earrings than I had picked, along with a clutch.
She approved of my shoes, and I’ll take that as a major win.
Oscar told me I look beautiful, too. I know I’m more covered up and less sophisticated-looking than most of the other female attendees, but I feel like me , and that’s more important. Plus, I have lots of friends here that love me for who I am. Just like I love Oscar for who he is.
We’ve woken up together every morning since dinner at Providence.
I can’t wait to wake up tomorrow in his arms and look out over the Vegas Strip.
We’ve got a perfect view from our suite at the Cosmopolitan.
I love the hotel, with its cool decor and fun-looking restaurants.
Reina booked up an entire room in Beauty & Essex for all the ladies in our friend group tomorrow.
She says I have to have the Street Corn Ravioli, and it sounds absolutely wonderful.
“There you are, Oscar,” a redhead in a yellow strapless gown that her breasts are barely holding up says, rubbing her hand on the sleeve of his suit jacket.
“Oh, hi, Tess.”
“My father sent me in his place tonight. I hope you’re not disappointed that you’ll have to wow me instead.”
My blood is starting to boil. Not only is this woman ignoring Oscar’s arm around my waist, but he’s not acknowledging me either.
“Hello, I’m Bel,” I tell her, holding out my right hand.
She sneers at it, then looks at Oscar again. “Can we go somewhere without Holly Hobbie here, and discuss our possible partnership?”
What the actual fuck? There’s no way. But actually, there is.
“Of course. Sorry, Bel, but I need to talk some business with Tess. I’ll be back when I can.”
My jaw drops as he lets her link her arm with his and walks away.
He literally just walked away from me with another woman like I was nothing.
Didn’t he just tell me he loved me? I know I’m about two seconds from falling apart, so I turn and rush toward the hall outside the ballroom, looking for the nearest bathroom.
Pushing inside, I start to close the door. My friend, Jade, catches it before it closes. She’s followed by Reina, Faith, and Darcy.
“There’s not enough room for all of us in here, but you’ve got friends outside, too,” Jade tells me. “We’ll all take a turn at him if you want.”
I know she means it, and I appreciate it. “That’s not necessary. I thought I could trust him. I thought I meant more to him than I apparently do. I just want to get my stuff and go home.”
“We can have your stuff brought to my house, where you can stay tonight. Or I’ll have one of the captains fly you home on a Corrigan jet tonight. Better yet, you could stay in your hotel room, and I’ll make sure Oscar has no access to the suite,” Reina tells me.
“I should get home. I’ll need to start looking for another job.”
“Move here. We could use a cool ass library at C&C, and you could go to Aces games with us,” Darcy says.
It’s an open offer I’ve declined for years. “L.A. is in my blood, but thank you. I might just take you up on the games, though.”
“Any time. I texted to have a jet ready. Now tell us exactly what that bitch said to you before Oscar went off with her.”
Oscar
I have to keep reminding myself how much I want this video game deal as Tess continues to proposition me. I’ve turned her down more times than I can count over the years, and she won’t take the hint. I’m pissed about how she treated Bel, but I have no choice but to play nice.
“You both need to leave my house immediately.”
I turn to see Maggie, Scott, and the rest of the Griffin family standing with their arms crossed just inside the door of the room we were using for our conversation.
“Maggie, I should’ve asked you to use this room,” Tess says, a smile on her face. She thinks she can charm her, but I know it’s not about the room.
“Is she okay?” I ask.
“She is no longer any of your concern,” Candi Griffin tells me.
“Just go, man. I don’t even know what to say to you right now that doesn’t include my fists” Scott warns me.
“Wait is this about that little mouse he showed up here with?” Tess laughs, not realizing she’s in enemy territory at the moment.
Oh, shit. I step even further away from her so I don’t accidentally get hit by anything that might be coming her way.
“Isabel is one of our dearest friends, and you have disrespected her in our home. You can tell your father we will be severing all ties with your family. Both professionally and personally. Now leave.”
Tess looks shocked, but practically runs from the room without another word. I’m not so smart.
“I’ll apologize to Bel, and I was already going to make a large contribution tonight.”
“I’ve got this,” Scott tells his family, and I watch them leave the room. If looks could kill, I’d be dead right now.
“You know how important this deal is to me,” I remind him when we’re alone.
“More important than Bel?”
“She’ll understand once I explain.”
“She may understand, and she may even forgive you, but she’s never going to forget that you chose your job over her.”
“Job? This is my dream, you know that.”
“I know that dreams grow and change with us. Hockey was your dream once, too.”
“And I won three Cups! I achieved that dream,” I remind him.
“You did. But tell me this. Would you rather live your life without designing that game, or without Bel?”
“I want both.”
“No one gets everything they want, but there’s compromise. You can release your own game. You have the money, and your team can do the work. It may not be connected to that game, but I’d play it if it doesn’t suck.”
“It wouldn’t. You might be right, but I need to think. Thanks.”
He nods, and I head toward the front door. Reina stops me on the way.
“I offered her a job, and you know I made it something she can’t refuse.”
“We’ll see about that.”
Bel
I didn’t spend all weekend crying. I refused to allow myself to.
Instead, I applied for every library job in the L.A.
area. I’ll start over if I have to, shelving books.
I just need to be around books. I probably should’ve come in and cleaned out my office, but I couldn’t.
I can barely do it right now, even though I know I need to.
