I’ll be… – by Milly Gray
I’LL BE…
BY MILLY GRAY
I’ll be where dreams are given life
Overlooking the vast western ocean
As I stare into what some call nothingness.
But, what if those who dream
See through the limitless blue sky
As it blends into azure waves,
Blurring cold reality with possibility?
My unfocused eyes scan the horizon
Manifesting and hoping while my lips
Repeat the mantra:
I’ll be remembered among the stars,
I’ll be immortalized on paper,
I’ll be free from responsibility’s weight
When my muse awakes.
The writer births her words
As the musician strums his guitar
Singing a familiar lyric into the sun while
Calling down favor with his own lyre,
So divine inspiration doesn’t pass us by.
One more song,
One more word,
One more note,
One more wave,
And I’ll be.
