Chapter 16 Kitchen Investigation
I thought He Tingzhou would keep blushing, but surprisingly, he actually agreed, his jaw tense. "Sure, go ahead."
He was so cooperative?
I paused for a second, but my palm had already honestly pressed against his abdomen.
The skin beneath the shirt radiated warmth. With his breathing, the muscle lines became even more defined.
It felt really good!
I screamed inside but tried to stay calm on the surface. "Yeah, it's alright I guess."
"Alright?"
He Tingzhou narrowed his eyes. "What, have you felt better ones?"
I paused, then shook my head. "No."
He Tingzhou looked dissatisfied and stepped closer. "Why the pause? Recalling someone else's touch?"
I smiled and pinched his cheek. "No, I was admiring someone's unhappy expression."
He Tingzhou choked and immediately looked away. "I wasn't—"
Two knocks sounded. The rest room door was rapped, and an officer's voice rang out. "Lab has news!"
He Tingzhou quickly pulled his face from my palm and straightened the folds on his abdomen, his face red. "Coming!"
Since it was official business, I naturally didn't want to disturb. I could only give his abs one last reluctant glance and ask, "What news?"
He Tingzhou didn't hide it. "I had everything from the bar's kitchen sent to the lab for testing. You mentioned Li Sheng'an was a big germaphobe. With the kitchen's hygiene level, he wouldn't have gone there to eat. So it was either to meet someone or to find something."
"If it was to meet someone, one phone call could arrange a cleaner place. No need to step into the kitchen. So..."
I picked up. "So he must have gone to the kitchen to find something, something that couldn't easily be taken out of the kitchen?"
He Tingzhou nodded slightly.
But what kind of thing couldn't leave the kitchen?
The fridge? The freezer? Pots and pans??
He Tingzhou opened the door and walked out. "So now we need to see what secrets the kitchen is hiding."
