VICTOR

K eri is nowhere to be found. Her car is in the parking lot, but unlike last night where I found her sitting in the driver’s seat, it’s empty. Nearly every car is gone but ours.

It’s been a long day, and I’m exhausted from staying up later than usual last night. At some point, I’ll need to put a tracker on her phone—it’ll certainly be more efficient. I get into my SUV and wait for fifteen minutes, but Keri might get suspicious if I wait too long. After the last three cars to leave, I give up and drive home.

Keeping my hands at ten and two on the steering wheel, I grip it tighter. Something doesn’t feel right. Only six minutes down the road, I make a U-turn, and when I make it back to the parking lot, her car is gone.

Fuck!

I pull out my phone to text her, hoping she’ll reply that she is driving home.

I was promised dinner. How is tonight?

Keri doesn’t reply and I’m becoming more anxious with each second that passes. After a few minutes, she finally replies.

Keri

I have plans tonight, maybe tomorrow?

If Paul was indeed sick from the latte this morning, he could be feeling better. I never should’ve left them alone this morning.

I’m supposed to help Henry tomorrow night, but maybe after.

Sure, that works.

Have a great night! Drive safe.

Drive safe? It’s an odd thing to say, considering I would’ve left a long time ago and already be home. I let her know I will and make my way back to my house for a second time. Once I’m home, I’m dragging my feet up the steps and I’m only inside for a moment when there’s a knock on the door. I quickly pivot and check the peephole to find Keri pacing and wringing her hands.

As I open the door, Keri jumps but quickly squares her shoulders. “Victor, we need to talk.”

I poke my head out and check the surroundings. It’s quiet. How did she get here? Why is she here? I don’t have a moment to process it when she shoves me into my house and closes the door behind us. I nearly trip and knock over the table in my entryway. None of this makes sense. She said she had plans, told me to have a great night.

“Have you or have you not been stalking me?” she growls, poking me in the chest.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” The lie slips out a little too easy. It isn’t as if she has proof.

“Yes, you do. You’ve been sneaking into my apartment for a while now, watching me sleep. I know you’re there and…” Keri steps back and sighs. I hate lying to her, but there’s no way I could admit the truth. “I know you’re there. That's why I drove all over town yesterday.” Fuck! I knew something was off. Ice cream. Pet store. Sex shop. It all makes sense. She continues, “Why didn’t you stay when Paul was at my house.”

“I’m not sure,” I admit. “There was a bit of a power struggle between Paul and me, and if I had stayed, I would’ve killed him with my bow through his larynx.”

Keri stifles a laugh. “I would’ve paid good money to see that.”

“Why are you here?” I shouldn’t ask, but I can’t help myself. I need to know. It’s bad enough she suspects everything, she now knows where I live. I’ve been careless.

“You’ve been following me for a while, so I figured I’d see what the fuss was about. After rehearsal, I hid in the women’s room until I knew you were gone, then followed you home.” My eyes blow wide. “I sort of like that you’re always around. Will you follow me home tonight?” The corner of her lip tilts up and it takes everything in me to not reach for her.

I consider it for a moment. Unfortunately, with the thrill gone, I have no desire to follow or watch her. I’m not sure what I expected if she ever found out—likely a restraining order. But, this? Never in a million years would I think she’d encourage me camping outside her apartment or cataloging her every move.

“No,” I reply, hating the dejected expression painting her face. “I won’t follow you anymore.”

“What do you mean? Why not?” Her brows pinch. “What’s changed? Is this because I counter-stalked you?”

“Counter-stalked me?”

“Yeah,” she huffs. “Counter-stalk. You know, like a reverse Uno card. You followed me, so I followed you.”

Part of me loves how she’s into it, but now that she knows I’m watching, it feels more like bad roleplay. “No, I don’t care if you follow me.”

“Then why won’t you follow me home?” She’s being petulant, and I won’t stand for it. Gripping the front of her throat, I squeeze gently and a devilish smirk dances on her lips. “Harder.”

What the fuck?

“You don’t want this,” I growl, enjoying the feel of her skin against my fingertips a bit too much.

Keri wraps her hand around my wrist but doesn’t pull me away. “Yes, I do. I’m not afraid of you, Victor.” She lightly licks her lips. “You’ve watched me sleep, but did you watch when I touched myself?” My nostrils flare. “You have, haven’t you? The last few times, I thought of you while I did it.”

A rumble settles in my chest. “Liar.”

“I’m not lying. Why don’t you reach between my legs and find out for yourself if I’m ready for you.”

Anger, shame, and desperate hunger fill my veins as I back her against the wall by her throat. There isn’t an ounce of protest in her. I never expected a fight, but I certainly never expected this level of submission. Unable to help myself, I slip my hand into her pants, finding her slick, warm cunt ready as promised. I drive two fingers inside her, making her gasp. “Is this what you wanted? Why you came here?”

“Yes,” she breathes, the bob of her throat massaging my palm.

“Are you going to be my good fucking girl and do as you’re told?” She nods and I pull my fingers from her, bringing them to my mouth to suck them clean. Fuck, she tastes better than I ever could’ve imagined. “You have sixty seconds until you’re naked in my bed, waiting for me.”

I release her neck and she hesitates, but only to ask, “Where’s your bedroom?”

Everything I’ve ever wanted is standing right in front of me for the taking. While I’ve obsessed about her for as long as I can remember, nothing compares to the real thing. I’ll probably wake up in a minute to find I nodded off while sitting in the corner chair of her room.

Fuck it. I’m not waiting.

I drop to my knees, wasting no time stripping her out of her painted-on jeans and short boots. Hooking my fingers into the waistband of her black cotton thong, I pause. “Tell me to stop.”

Her eyes pool with lust as she shakes her head. I should savor this moment, slowly drag the soft fabric down her body. Something snaps in me and I rip them at her hips. A soft whimper leaves her lips and I can’t help the satisfaction swelling inside me. Pulling her leg onto my shoulder, I flick my tongue on her clit, and she nearly loses her balance.

“So beautiful, so responsive,” I praise, quietly murmuring against her skin. I slide my hand to her stomach to steady her as her fingers tangle in my hair. I’ve died and this is my heaven. Licking firm circles around her clit, I build her up, and she bucks against me, eager for more.

“Yes, right there. I’m so close.” Her whimpers and moans are sweeter than any song I’ve heard before. As I slip my fingers into her tight cunt, she screams out in pleasure, but it’s not enough to tip her over the edge. I should’ve waited for a bed or literally any furniture to properly worship her. When I nip at her clit, she clenches around my fingers, and shatters for me. Her words are broken and ragged; I don’t let up.

“More,” I growl against her, then continue lapping at her swollen clit. An aftershock of her orgasm tears through her and pride blooms in my chest. “That’s my good girl.”

“Fuck, that was… Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck! I have to go!” Keri trips as she wriggles out of my hold and bursts into laughter as she hits the floor.

“Where do you think you’re going, little minx,” I chuckle but her giggles come to a screeching halt. “What’s wrong?”

“Paul. He’s still at my apartment—or at least I think he is. He was shitting his brains out when I left him to get to rehearsal.”

“You left him there?”

“Yeah,” she winces. “And I totally forgot about him until just now when I realized I didn’t want to go home tonight.”

I help her up and pull her onto my lap, straddling me. “We’ll check on your apartment. If he’s still there, I’ll get rid of him.”

“You mean like the other guys I dated?” She quirks an eyebrow. “What? You think I didn’t know you were sabotaging every potential relationship this year?”

“Guilty.” I smack her ass, making her yelp. “Come on. Let’s go, and if he’s already left, I’ll be finishing what I started.”
