Chapter V

While we were sitting together and sipping coffee, he poured me a second cup of that wonderful drink from the coffee machine nearby.
We just admired each other, breathing the same air, and it felt as if the warmth itself had settled inside the treehouse.
It was so cozy and pleasant that it seemed better here than anywhere else.
As they say, “With my beloved, even paradise is in a hut.” Well… it was true.
Two small glass windows framed the view outside, revealing the tall skyscrapers surrounding the playground.
Through the uncurtained windows of those distant apartments, you could glimpse other people’s lives as if the world lay open in the palm of your hand, as if they wanted to be seen.
Someone was cooking. Someone else was celebrating at a family dinner, a long Halloween table glowing with candlelight.
In another window, friends were dancing under twinkling fairy lights.
And then there was me, sitting in a treehouse with my perfect fantasy of a man who had somehow become real.
I looked at him and noticed that he wasn’t watching the world outside.
His gaze was fixed entirely on me, following my every movement without breaking for a single second.
His hands gently caressed mine, his fingertips tracing slow, tender circles over my knuckles.
The touch was so soft, so intimate, it made something inside me ache, perhaps warmth and sweetness and it felt like a strange vulnerability.
It felt as though we had known each other forever, as if we had met in another life.
The tenderness of the moment made my heart skip, and I smiled without realizing it.
He was breathtakingly beautiful, impossibly so. I couldn’t deny it. But a thought kept circling in my head like a restless spirit: how could this be real? How could my favorite character from a book step out into my world and find me? Who… or what… was he really?
I cleared my throat and finally dared to ask the question that had been tormenting me. “Is this a dream?”
“Ha!” He laughed softly, shaking his head. “No, of course not. I’m quite real. You can feel my cock pressed against your ass right now, can’t you?” He tilted his head, studying every inch of my face with those glowing red eyes.
“But then… how are you real?” I stammered. “How did you come out of my book? How did you—?” I stopped, staring at him in stunned silence.
He just smiled. Slowly. Patiently.
“Have you ever heard of incubus demons?” he asked.
Something fluttered in my chest, probably fear, intrigue, or something darker I couldn’t yet name.
“Well… regarding that… well, let’s just say…” I hesitated, pursing my lips, but he kept tracing his fingers over mine, every touch filled with unearthly tenderness.
“Well,” he said softly, “I’m a demon who seduces women and I can be anyone, absolutely anything. I adapt to women's fantasies.”
He paused, lowering his head until his lips brushed my hair. His voice turned into a murmur against my temple. “I became who you wanted the most.”
He inhaled deeply, as though memorizing my scent and for the first time, I sensed a tremor in his breath, as if he feared what my answer might be.
I needed a couple of seconds to digest this information, but the problem was that I didn’t believe in any demons or mysticism.
It was like believing that aliens lived somewhere on another planet in another universe and could see us humans from outer space.
Yeah, of course. I snorted to myself, denying the existence of anything supernatural, but it felt so real, as if this truly was reality, not a fever dream at forty-plus degrees…
or was the dream so real because I was dead?
I was horrified by these thoughts, but my stranger or rather, the familiar demon seducer only kissed me on the cheek in response, distracting me from everything that was bothering me.
“Hey, it’s okay, really. I’m not going to hurt you, kitten. I’m here for your pleasure.”
“Hmm, well, you know, demons don’t do anything for free. Do I need to sell my soul to you for sex?” I arched one eyebrow, staring at him. He stopped stroking my knuckles and met my gaze directly.
“Well, you can do that,” he said, his lips curving into a faint smile, “but it’s much simpler than you think. It’s just an exchange of energy to fulfill your fantasy, that’s all.”
His smile was so seductive that you could trust him with anything, even your life. Well, with such a sexy appearance, of course.
“Well, if it’s that simple… what are the disadvantages?” I gave him a sly smile.
“Absolutely nothing, kitten.”
He smiled wider, baring his sharp fangs and dimples on his cheeks and it was so sexy.
It was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. His hand reached out, tilting my chin up, shifting my attention from the handsome blond man with eyes burning red with passion to the windows of a skyscraper.
The scenes behind them suddenly changed, each window filled with images of people entangled in passion.
It was all in plain sight, and, I had to admit, beautifully done.
Each pair was different, different lighting, different fantasies, and, as I could already guess from talking to one, different demons.
“Is this some kind of demonic raid on poor people during Halloween, to suck our energy?”
“Yes. How smart you are, Aurora,” he whispered in my ear, biting my earlobe, and I felt his body tense at the gesture.
“All the demons have captured this area perfectly and quite easily. Everyone is now in euphoria and pleasure, they’re literally drowning in it. Don’t you feel it yourself, with your body and soul, hmm?” he purred so softly that I could listen to his voice forever.
“Come on… don’t you want to give in to this desire and get absolutely everything you’ve dreamed of with your book crush? I’ll gladly give you pleasure and fulfill every desire and fantasy, according to your will and command.”
He continued to purr in my ear, seducing me more and more, and I felt my resolve melt away completely.
“I… yes… yes… you’re right. I’m ready to give in to you, demon.”
“That’s nice. Now take off your dress, kitten, we’ll play my game. And leave the stockings, for me…”
He grinned maliciously and reached out to help me with the dress. Not that I really needed help, but his fingers slid over my skin so slowly that it made me shiver, each motion deliberate, exposing me completely before him.
Now it was my turn to undress him. I grinned, reaching for his turtleneck with such zeal and giddy anticipation that I could’ve jumped out of my panties with delight, well, if I had any left.
