Chapter Two Khalil “Savage” Knox #3
My jaw muscles flexed the more aggravated I became.
The fact that the nigga really felt like he didn’t owe me an explanation really was grinding my gears.
So much that I could feel the rage coming from the bottom of my feet right to the joints in my hands.
Before I knew it, my fist was connecting with his left jaw.
“I don’t do reckless. I don’t like that ra ra shit.
You don’t get tired of beefing with motherfuckers, let alone about Londyn.
In the presence of the enemy, I have your back tenfold, but behind closed doors I’m going to always correct you, my nigga.
The fact that you don’t feel like nothing about the shit was wrong done pissed me off.
Cut that nigga supply off for a week Ro”, I said through clenched teeth.
“The fuck?! You can’t do that man!”, he said getting up all in my face.
“Oh, I can’t? Watch me nigga”, I said through clenched teeth.
“You think Trill handling his niggas like this?”
“What that bitch ass nigga do isn’t any of my concern. But if you’d like to know maybe you should go join their asses!”
I wasn’t worried about him going to fuck with them niggas at all.
He hates their gits just as much as the rest of us.
I highly doubt that he would like to stand on side of the same nigga he’s into it with about his bitch.
That ain’t how this street shit goes. He don’t like the way I handle business and that’s fine.
This my shit and I run it however I please.
In this game you have chiefs and Indians.
I’m the chief in this motherfucker, and the biggest one at that.
The nigga needs to learn his place and quickly.
Before he’s without a spot on my team indefinitely.
Because I love the nigga and we have history, this is me taking shit lightly on him.
He should have enough money to make up for the week he’ll miss.
I pushed that nigga out of my proximity and instructed him to get the fuck out of my place of business.
I didn’t plan for today to go this way at all.
Had the nigga talked to me with some sense it would have never come to this bullshit.
I just wanted to talk the shit out like gentleman, so we all knew how to move forward.
Nigga wanted to handle me like he’s the one calling the shots or some shit.
I don’t owe that nigga a motherfucking thing. Not even an ounce of work.
Against his better judgement he left. I know he didn’t want to, especially knowing that he was basically suspended without pay.
This isn’t a typical nine to five, but business is business with me regardless.
You don’t do fucked up shit and not expect consequences to follow.
Moving reckless as fuck can be risky for the entire organization.
Just as it did. He wasn’t the only nigga to take a hit.
“Now that we got that shit out of the way. Any of you other niggas feeling like y’all want to go against the grain and cause more problems?”
Everyone looked around to one another but clearly Dre was the only nigga with a problem. You would think after me having his back all these years he would know to respect me. After all, I am the nigga that’s making sure food stays on his table. Fuck that nigga is how I’m feeling right now.
“We got a new shipment coming in this week. Dre ain’t gon’ be present, so that’s double work for you all.
This week is going to be a busy one because the shipment was doubled due to the hiccup, we experienced last drop.
I’m expecting all of this shit to get off the floor.
The more work in the streets, the more money in our pockets.
If that’s going to be a problem for anybody let me know now”
“Hell nah, it ain’t. I have a family to feed, and I have a wife that loves buying shit”, Z said, and we all shared a laugh.
That lightened the tension in the atmosphere that Dre ass left behind.
I filled them in on the play by play for the week before we all went our separate ways.
I can’t lie like the shit that Dre was on earlier wasn’t still on my mental.
Nigga was on one and it was clear. I don’t know if it’s because Londyn isn’t fuckin with him or what.
Either way, that shit had nothing to do with me or the business.
That’s what niggas problem is as it is, they like to let relationships and shit cloud their judgment.
None of that shit is standing in the way of my paper.
I’m a single ass man out here and as of now, the man upstairs hasn’t blessed me to become a father just yet.
So right now, the only responsibility I have is looking out for my baby sister and my mom.
After this morning, whatever the thing was that Breia and I had going on is over.
So, I ain’t hitting on shit in the love department either, and for now I’m cool with that.
It took me about thirty minutes to make it on the side of town close to my mom.
I had a couple of errands to run before I went to see about my sister.
The florist was my first stop. Sporadically, I like to do nice things for them to put a smile on their faces and to show how much value they hold in my life.
I picked up my mom a bouquet of roses and my sister a bouquet of sunflowers.
I don’t know what it is, but she loves the hell out of them things.
The fact that that they are yellow may also play a part in why she loves them so much.
Being that’s her favorite color and all.
Once I had my bouquets, I headed over to Logan’s Roadhouse to get all three of us Steak dinners to eat.
I fucked with their rolls just as much as I fuck with Texas Roadhouse’s.
So, between the two, I’m constantly in one of them.
I cook at home when I have the time. If I don’t, I’m either eating at my mom’s spot or getting some quick on the go.
When I pulled onto the street that my mom lived on, I could see my sisters Camry parked in the yard that I got her a couple of years ago.
My timing was perfect because I knew she should have been home from school by now.
I didn’t see my mom’s car until I pulled in the driveway.
She backed into the garage, most likely to leave me somewhere to park.
She knows at some point in my day I’m going to try to make my way over to see about them.
It’s the small things like that, that makes me so appreciative to have a living mom.
I gathered the food from my passenger seat and the flowers from the back before exiting the car.
When I made my way to the door in the garage, I used my key to let myself in the house.
Following the sound of voices, I found my mom and my sister sitting in the living room catching up one on of those Tyler Perry shows that they love to watch.
“I smell that cologne, that’s nobody but Khalil”, I heard my mom say.
I just smiled to myself as I bent the corner. I stood behind her lazy boy chair and kneeled to place a kiss on her forehead.
“And he comes bearing gifts Kiya”, she said smiling.
“What’s up big bro”
“What’s up sis, you good?”, I asked before placing a kiss on her cheek.
“Everything is good, just trying to get everything together for all this senior stuff”
“Senior stuff like what?”, I asked.
I gave them the flowers and their food before taking a seat next to Kiya on the couch to dive into my own plate.
“Senior fees, senior trip, and prom stuff”
“Don’t sweat it, I got it. Just let me know how much and the deadlines for everything”
“Are you sure Khalil? I can do what I can”
“Fa sho mama, I’m not about to leave you to figure it all out. I’ll take care of it. You don’t have to lift a finger”
“Alright Khalil, I digress”, she said throwing her hands up in defeat.
She already knows how I rock. My mom has been a CNA for as long as I can remember. She makes decent money, but the hours are so up and down. She doesn't like to take money from me, but I'm going to always do what I can for them
Any chance to alleviate some stress off her, that's what I'll always do. I ain’t the type of nigga that’s going to walk around with a pocket full of dope money and watch my mama and sister struggle.
Might not be the kind of money they want me to use to spend on them.
But it's green and it all spends the same.
Once I finished my food, I was as full as a tic. I stretched back on the couch because I could feel a nap coming on. My phone buzzed right when I was about to doze off.
“That nigga Dre on one ain’t it”, Ro texted.
“Damn sho is. Right now, I don’t want to be anywhere near that nigga because he doesn’t seem to see the issue in the shit”
“That’s a ain’t shit niggas MO. That’s my nigga but he’s wrong as fuck. It’s all good though. Hopefully he learns his lesson from missing out on this money”
“Time will tell”, I responded before locking my phone.
Whether Dre wanted to get his act together or not, simply was on him. All that shit was pure bullshit and I’m not going for it. Frankly, I’m tired of thinking about the shit for the day. All I wanted to do right now was get a quick little nap in before I get back out to handle business later.
