Chapter 59
Rhys had done it again, hadn’t he? Gone and fucked up without trying this time. He’d wanted to make sure he made them feel good. Everything they were doing to him had been great, and they’d barely touched him. Yet he already felt right on the edge.
Mel held their hand out to him, and he realized what they’d said. Their bedroom. Which meant this was more than a quick hook up. He really wasn’t sure what to make of that.
You’ve never only had a quick hookup with Alfie.
Alfie also didn’t stick around for longer than the morning after. Usually when they were in the same hotel room, and there wasn’t much choice.
This was different. Nothing stopped Mel from kicking him out of their house. They weren’t doing anything even close to that. They were inviting him further inside. That had to mean something.
Rhys just wasn’t sure exactly what.
He followed them into the bedroom, and he took in the surroundings illuminated by a lamp in the corner. Bed pushed up against the middle of the wall. Dresser with some pictures on top of it, a small bookshelf in a corner.
Mel turned to him and their hands went under his shirt, their palms skating over his stomach then up to his chest. One thumb brushed over his nipple as their other hand eased his shirt up over his left arm. He barely had to raise his right for the shirt to fall away.
“You’re good at that.” He didn’t tell them they didn’t have to worry. He was able to take his shirt on and off without that much pain. Maggie had already given him exercises to start to try to strengthen the muscles there so the impingement didn’t happen again.
Now didn’t seem like the best time to bring that up.
Especially not with the way Mel stared at him.
Like they were wondering where to start on a feast. That thought nearly made him laugh.
He knew the way he was built. Like a square.
He didn’t have a flat washboard stomach.
Definitely some padding there. No matter how much exercise he did.
Sure his core muscles were strong underneath that, but it wasn’t going away.
He didn’t have a problem with it, but it was never what he’d thought had drawn a partner to him.
As Mel lowered to one knee then the other, they leaned forward and ran their cheek over the front of his stomach.
He thought they were going for his jeans, but they didn’t even touch the button on them.
Not until they’d spent quite a while nuzzling his stomach.
They looked up at him, as if in question. “God, yes, Mel. I’m so fucking hard right now.”
They unzipped his jeans and shoved them down over his hips. “It doesn’t take much, huh?”
He let out a bark of laughter a moment before their lips closed over the head of his cock, and the sound quickly turned to a moan.
His hands came down to the top of their head, but they just rested there.
He didn’t want to go too far and have them thinking he was trying to control them.
It felt so good, he almost forgot himself.
Until they let him go with a long suck and stood. He groaned, but Mel pressed a kiss to his throat. They seemed to really like that part of him.
Hell, he liked it. A lot more than he ever thought he would. “Was that it?” he asked, his voice rough. “Just wanted to get a taste of me?”
“For now,” they said. “What else would you like me to do to you?”
“I should be asking you that.”
They tipped their head to the side as if processing his words. He didn’t understand why. Didn’t Mel want him to give them pleasure, too? Or wasn’t he good enough for that?
They stepped in to him, their breasts brushing against his chest. “You shouldn’t have to ask me anything, Rhys. We should both be enjoying ourselves. Are you?”
“Hell yes.”
“Good. So am I. I like giving pleasure. I’ll take it as well, but this isn’t all just about me. I want to make you feel good as well.”
They kissed him again, and at least that took their direct eye contact away. He thought it was enough to flay him alive. He closed his eyes as Mel shifted their mouth against his and tried to stay in the moment.
And shut out the voice telling him he didn’t deserve any of this. Mel said they wanted to be with him. That there wasn’t anything wrong with the way he felt desire.
Lies. They’re going to realize just how horrible you are. Just give them some time.
Mel’s hands slid over his shoulders and down his chest, muffling that voice. At least for the moment. They tweaked one nipple then the other, and Rhys practically panted into their mouth. If possible, his cock got even harder.
“Should we take this to the bed?” they asked.
Yes. He was pretty sure his legs would give out if they kept this up. He’d never worried about his balance before.
Rhys took a few steps until his calves hit against the mattress, and he sat down on it.
“How did you know right where it was?” Mel asked.
He shrugged one shoulder. “I’m good at seeing where everything is, it helps to be aware of your surroundings when you have a mask blocking most of your field of vision.” Or when you lived with someone who you never knew when they’d attack.
He was not letting Craig in here now. He wanted to forget the man even existed. Rhys shut the words Craig had thrown at him into a box and focused solely on the person standing in front of him.
And what a person they were. Mel stripped their leggings off and knelt on the bed in front of him.
He spread his thighs farther apart to give them more room.
They seemed to be more interested in running their hands all over his thighs, from his quads, along the inside of both thighs and back to his hamstrings.
“Fuck,” Mel said. “They’re thick all around.”
“Well, I do about 100 squats a game. Sometimes more, depending on the pitch count. What else would you expect?”
Mel shook their head with a little laugh. “You’re ridiculous, you know that.”
Yes. He had been told that often throughout his life. Except the way Mel looked at him didn’t seem like they thought he was ridiculous for thinking any family would want to keep him. Or that he’d be good enough to get the reward he’d been promised.
Which was something else he didn’t want to let in. He’d gotten over that years ago. It’s not like he had seen those families in all the time since he’d aged out of the system. Hell, even longer. Ever since he’d been sent to the group home in Brentley.
Not until Craig confronted him in that parking lot. Which really was the last thing he wanted to be thinking about.
Mel cupped a hand around his cheek. “Are you okay? Did I do something?”
He shook his head as if that would rid it of all those thoughts. “Not at all. Where were we?”
Mel laughed just as he’d hoped they would. “Right about here.” They straddled one of his thighs, then they slid a hand up his chest and pressed their lips to his.
