Chapter 5 Intimate Tease
Shen Zhiye’s eyes lit up in an instant.
I only then realized what I had just said.
The moment the door closed, my heart pounded like it wanted to leap out of my chest.
Even my palms broke out in sweat.
Shen Zhiye, though, acted like nothing happened. He leaned lazily against the headboard.
“Didn’t you say we were going to sleep?”
His voice lifted at the end, low and husky against my ear.
I couldn’t help lifting my head.
At some point, he had changed into smoke-gray silk pajamas.
The collar hung slightly open, revealing his smooth, glowing collarbone.
When he noticed me staring, he lifted a hand and fanned his cheek dramatically.
“Feels a little hot…”
His long fingers slowly undid the buttons.
One.
Two.
My eyelashes trembled from nerves. I barely dared to breathe.
Reason screamed that I shouldn’t look.
But as the shirt slipped off, my gaze locked on him. I couldn’t tear it away.
He always looked lean in clothes, but bare, he was built.
Fair skin gleamed under the light. Deep lines carved from his chest all the way down to perfect eight-pack abs.
Gulp.
In the silent room, the sound of me swallowing rang out clear.
The corner of Shen Zhiye’s mouth curved with knowing amusement.
He must have heard it.
Embarrassment flooded me. I wanted to bolt, but before I could move, he caught my wrist.
One tug, and I tumbled straight into his arms.
Fresh cedar scent wrapped around me. His low, laughing voice bubbled by my ear.
“Wife, you’re allowed to do more than just look…”
His hot palm closed over my fingers and guided them to his rising and falling chest.
It felt smooth and firm beneath my fingers.
My eyes drifted lower, too curious about how those abs would feel.
My waist suddenly tightened. In a blink, he pulled me down into the soft bedding.
“Shen… Zhiye.”
I admitted it—he was the best-looking man I’d ever seen.
But wasn’t this moving too fast?
Nerves, confusion, and a secret thrill.
My body even started shaking.
Then his voice came, restrained and guilty.
“Did I scare you? It’s okay… we have plenty of time.”
Um…
This spoiled rich boy wasn’t quite what I’d imagined.
His scorching chest pressed against my back. His breathing still hadn’t settled.
All the tension I’d carried that day finally melted away, and I fell into deep sleep.
