Chapter Ten
Lee
Nix, are you sure it’s okay I tag along? I really wouldn’t mind going home.”
Phoenix grabs my hand and laces our fingers.
She’s practically dragging me down the street towards ‘Primetime’ the new sports bar where she’s meeting her new husband.
I was content just hanging out at home today.
But I am having a good day, and she did invite me to go with her.
We don’t get to see each other often since we so rarely have a lull in our work at the same time.
Luck has been on our side the past few weeks, though, so we’ll suck up as much time as we can before our busy lives pull us apart again.
“Come on, Lee. It’s fine, and if Kieran has a problem with it, he can go home.” She laughs as she drags us into the front doors of the new sports bar.
Primetime is nice. The booths and tables are stained a light wood color, while memorabilia from our local teams litters every speck of wall space.
Jerseys, baseballs, a lacrosse stick, and some famous goalie’s trapper, just to name a few.
There’s so much stuff that I can’t catalog it all, and I’m almost positive I didn’t know we had this many professional sports teams here.
The lights are turned down and music pumps through the system.
On game nights the announcers’ voices will be pulsing through the space.
The bar sits loud and proud in the center of the room.
Bar chairs line the lightly colored wood, and in the center are two bartenders dressed in all black.
They pour drinks and make concoctions while also talking and laughing with patrons.
Green lights sit under the glass display, making the liquor bottles look more enticing.
Nix tugs my hand, leading me to the far side where I’m assuming she’s caught sight of her man.
I’m so busy taking in the bar that I don’t even notice Mac until he’s directly in front of me.
My eyes widen because my plan was to not see him again.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d pay ungodly amounts of money right now to be wrapped around his body the way his clothes are.
At the same time, I know this isn’t smart for any of us.
Theo’s making noise. Mac’s figured it out at least a little bit, honestly probably all of it if I’m being honest with myself.
Before I can let my head get too carried away, Mac’s hand reaches out to mine and gently pulls me to stand in between his legs. Even with him sitting on the bar stool, I still have to look up to meet his gaze. What looks like lust and desire shines in his mossy eyes.
“Lelonie.” He smirks at me, and I metaphorically fall to ash at his feet.
“MacQuillian.” I smart back. His thumb gently runs over the back of my hand, the sass in my voice not deterring him at all.
“What are you doing here, Beautiful?”
“Probably the same as you. I got dragged here by Nix.” Looking over at the traitor, I find her climbing Kieran like a tree. No surprise there.
“I was brought here by the promise of a burger and a drink.” His eyes shine with mirth. “I would have shown up for nothing but the whisper of your name if we’re going to be honest.”
I can’t help the flirty smirk that takes over my face, “You flatter me, Mr. Byrne.”
“I don’t flatter, Smart Girl. I only speak the truth.” He drops my hand, causing my heart to fall into my stomach for just a minute. In the next moment, his arms fall to grip my hips gently. “How was your day?”
“Really? That’s your great line, Mac? How was my day?” I can’t help the teasing laugh that bubbles out of me.
He shoots me a mock glare. “I don’t need a line. I just need to know how your day has been.”
“It was fine. I worked, had a few appointments, and I’ve got to head home before long to meet up with my sister.”
“Annie?” He asks cautiously, almost like he’s making sure he remembered it correctly.
“Yes, Annie. She’s home for a few nights.” My smile stretches across my face.
I love my little sister so much. Annie is fierce and kind.
She has so many friends. She’s just a good human.
At the same time, if she feels like her family is being threatened, she’ll kill for us.
She’s a conundrum, and I love every single atom that makes her up.
Annie was ten when I came to live with my family.
She ran into the entryway with lopsided pigtails, a dress covered in dirt, and a wide smile littered with missing teeth.
Instantly her little hand found mine and pulled me deeper into our house, declaring that I was her sister.
We’ve been as thick as thieves ever since.
Mac hums deep in the back of his throat, “I’m glad you’ll get to spend time together then.”
My hands rest on his pecs as his start gently massaging my hips. “What are you doing, Mr. Byrne?”
The desire in his eyes couldn’t be mistaken for anything else. Mac leans in close, so close that as he speaks, his lips graze the shell of my ear. “Be careful, Lee. I like that more than you could ever know.”
Goosebumps break out all over my body from head to toe. My face flushes as he kisses the spot behind my ear softly before pulling back. That signature grin all the Byrne men have seemed to master is firmly in place.
Mac’s fingers keep stroking up and down my sides. “Is this okay?” My voice is caught in my throat, so all I can do is nod. Is it okay? My body is screaming for more. “Words, Lelonie. I need them.”
Holy. Shit. That was hot.
“Y-yes. It’s okay.” I manage to stutter out after a few beats of silence. It’s like the bar isn’t even here anymore. It’s just the two of us I can’t hear or see anything else. What the fuck is happening?
“Can I do more?” His eyes dance in the dim lights. His voice is loud enough for me to hear him, but low enough that the gravel in it skims its way down my spine as desire pools in my core.
“Yes.” The word isn’t even completely out of my mouth before one of Mac’s hands feeds through my hair. Palming the back of my head, he tilts my face up to his and leans in so his lips brush mine when he talks.
“Can I kiss you, Beautiful?” He seems the epitome of calm, cool, and collected. If I couldn’t feel his heart hammering beneath my fingertips, I’d worry this attraction was a one-way lane.
Deciding to take this into my own hands, I move forward sealing my lips to his.
I can feel the surprise in his body language, but it only lasts a second before his lips pry mine open and his tongue comes out to play.
Gripping my hip, he pulls me even tighter into his hold.
Getting lost in this kiss is by far the easiest thing I’ve ever done.
He tastes like whiskey, mouthwash, and something that’s uniquely him. To put it bluntly, he’s intoxicating.
I lightly scrape my nails down his chest and stomach as he slips his hand in the back pocket of my jeans.
He pulls back just long enough for his lips to start down my jaw and to my neck.
Tilting my head, I give him more room. A growl rumbles from his chest as he nibbles on my pulse point.
My head falls back, eyes closed, as I enjoy every second of this.
My body’s a live wire, and Mac’s setting it alight.
I know I should pull away. Walk out of this bar, head held high, and block his number.
The problem with that? I can’t find it in myself to want to do it.
The haze of desire pulls me out of any thought other than this man touching me.
Before I know what’s happening, Mac surges to his feet and lifts me up by the backs of my thighs.
He pulls away from my neck and mutters out, “Somewhere private.” That’s all I get before he’s carrying me through the empty bar in search of a semblance of privacy.
I can’t help my desire to make him feral.
I wrap my arms around his neck and bring my lips down to his jaw, where I nibble and kiss along his ever present close cut beard.
Deciding that’s not enough, I begin to grind my core over his hard bulge.
Mac stumbles a step before moaning, “Fuck.” Finally he brings us into a room and locks the door.
As soon as I hear the lock snick, he’s all over me.
We’re a mess of hands, teeth, frantic movements, and desire.
My hands go to the belt looped through his medium wash jeans.
Freeing it quickly, I slide his belt through the loops before I triumphantly smirk at him.
I feel like I’m in control for all of ten seconds before he takes the belt from me and threads it through itself to make a restraint.
Fear courses through my blood for a second before his low voice rings out in the small storage room.
“I won’t do anything you don’t want, Lee. If you’re okay with it, I’m just going to feed your wrists through the restraints and use that hook above your head to hold you in place. Is that okay?”
My eyes frantically search his. He feels safe.
He’s demanding control, but it feels like he’s also giving me all the power.
He’s patient as I attempt to sort through my clouded brain.
Almost impulsively I turn my arms wrist up and place them in front of me, my eyes cast to the floor.
I know what he’s into. Men like Mac thrive on power and control.
It isn’t hard to put two and two together. He wants my submission.
I’ll allow him this small victory, but only because even though my body is telling me not to, my head and heart know that I can trust him.
I know Mac even better than he thinks I do.
He’s not the only one who likes to watch or be watched.
Call it obsessive all you want, but I call it admiring from afar.
And because I’m as good as I am, I know he was following me the other day and hacked into the security of my building.
“Look at me, Lelonie.” My eyes automatically come up to his with the command.
“Green. Yellow. Red.” He talks as he threads my wrists through the loops on the belt before tightening it.
Not tight enough to bruise, but I’m definitely not getting out of it.
“When I ask for a color, you give me one of those. Green to keep going. Yellow because you need a minute or need me to slow down. Red, this entire thing stops. Not forever, and not for good, but for right now.” I nod in understanding before remembering what he said earlier.
“Yes, Mr. Byrne.” I answer him in a breathy voice that doesn’t even sound like mine.
“Good Girl.” He smirks as he brings my enclosed wrists up and hooks them to something above my head.
I’m completely at his mercy now. His hands move swiftly to pull down my leggings.
Watching this strong, powerful man on his knees for me causes a whimper to work its way up my throat.
His eyes eat up every part of my body now exposed to him.
I don’t think I can handle it anymore. That is until he presses his mouth to the front of my panties and places an open-mouthed kiss on the wet material.
“Give me a color, Lelonie.” The look in his eyes is of a man barely hanging on.
“Gree-” A moan rips from deep in my chest as, in the next moment, Mac pulls my panties aside and runs his tongue up my slit and around my clit.
“Dammit. You’re the best thing I’ve ever tasted.” He buries his face back into my core like he’s a man starved. His hand circles my thigh before throwing it over his shoulder, opening me up to him completely.
“Mac, fuck.” His teeth bite down on my clit gently and pull just slightly. Fuck, I’m going to come soon. “Don’t stop. Please, it feels so good.” I’m not even embarrassed that I’m begging this man to make me come. I’m way too turned on to give a single fuck.
Mac pulls back slightly, just enough so I can see his mouth and chin glisten with my arousal.
“That’s right, sweetheart. Beg me.” He thrusts two fingers inside of me, curling them slightly to stroke my inner walls before diving back to assault my overly sensitive clit.
It’s too much. It’s not enough. I’m going to explode.
I’m so consumed with him. He’s all I see, hear, and feel.
And when he locks eyes with mine and growls ‘come’ into my pussy, I set off like a bottle rocket.
My hips rock against his face of their own accord, chasing the high he offers me.
Mac refuses to let up until I’ve come down off the high from my orgasm, and even then I have to push his face away.
His smile is devious as he stands, reaches up, and unhooks the belt from whatever it was stuck on.
My arms burn from the position they were held in, but I don’t care.
Before he can say a word, I drop down to my knees, and with my hands still restrained I manage to pull his jeans and boxers down his hips.
Holy shit, that is the most beautiful cock I’ve ever seen.
Leaning forward, I wrap my lips around the head and suck, hard.
Mac’s knees almost buckle as his hand shoots out to steady himself on the storage shelf behind me.
“Fuck, Lee.” His head falls back, and his eyes flutter closed.
Taking him in a little deeper, my head starts to bob, and I find a rhythm.
Mac reaches down and fists my hair at the back of my neck, letting out a low groan.
All of a sudden I feel cold metal on the nape of my neck, and my body locks up immediately.
My head jerks back, eyes automatically water, and sheer terror pulses through my veins.
“Red. Red. Red.” I shout as I scramble back from him.
