Chapter 17 #2

I don’t hide my grin. “So, you plan on working on that later, do you?”

“Damn right, I do. Now, let’s grab something to drink without alcohol, and go watch some crazy motherfuckers climb onto the backs of some angry bulls.”

“That used to be you.”

He winks. “I know. I have the aches and pains to prove it. Come on.” He leads me to the concession stand, and we get two Dr. Peppers and a soft pretzel with cheese to split before making our way to our seats.

I’m excited to see the show with him. I love being able to get a glimpse of his world through his eyes, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ready to rush back to the hotel and let him try to knock me up, as he so eloquently put it.

“What a night,” I say, as we step into our hotel room in downtown Nashville.

“I loved being able to have you there to explain the scoring and just watching the show with you. I wanted this little getaway to be for you, but I think I enjoyed it more than you did.” I laugh, kicking off my cowboy boots.

“I enjoy every single second I get to spend with you, Bay.”

Sitting down on the bed, I lean back on my arms and tilt my head to the side as I watch him take off his own boots and start to strip out of his clothes.

He really is beautiful, even with the scars from his bull-riding days.

They’re him. And to me, there’s nothing better than Macklin. “I never had a chance, did I?”

“What do you mean?”

“Of not falling in love with you.”

He smiles. It’s soft, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and the green seems to sparkle even in the dim lighting of the hotel room. “That was always the plan. I wanted you to love me. To need me.”

“You got your wish, cowboy.”

He nods as he tosses his shirt over the back of the chair and starts on his jeans.

I stay where I am, just enjoying the show, watching my man strip.

When he’s finally naked, he stalks toward the bed, stopping just out of reach.

Sitting up, I take my time, letting my eyes roam over his toned body.

His cock is hard and standing proud, and my mouth waters.

I stand, only to fall to my knees, fisting and stroking him, adding just the right amount of pressure that I know he craves. Then, I take him into my mouth.

“Fuck, Bay,” he rasps, pushing my hair back over my shoulders. “Your mouth feels incredible.”

I hum my agreement, which makes him curse under his breath.

He gathers my hair in his hands, but never makes a move to apply pressure.

He never does. Gripping the back of his thighs with my hands, I take him as deep as I can without gagging, and when I pull back to get some air, he grips beneath my armpits, and he pulls me to my feet.

“I can’t give you a baby if I come down your throat, beautiful,” he says before his lips find mine. The kiss is gentle, doing nothing to calm the intensity of what I feel for this man.

Finally, he pulls back. His heated gaze bores into mine. “Baylor?”

“Macklin,” I sass.

He grins. “Strip.”

“Yes, sir,” I say, making him groan, and his cock twitches. He reaches down and grips his length, stroking from base to tip, while I make quick work of getting undressed.

When I’m finally naked, I place my hands on my hips and say, “I’m naked, cowboy. Now, what are you going to do with me?”

He gives me a devilish smirk. “You know that I love you, right?” He reaches up and runs his index finger softly down my cheek.

“You know I do. I love you, too,” I tell him.

“Good. Remember that when I fuck our firstborn into you.” He smacks my ass, making me yelp and then moan, because damn, this man and his mouth. From sweet to spicy, I never know what I’m going to get with him, but one thing remains the same.

He’s mine.

I’m his.

Deciding to lean into his spicy, I turn, climb onto the bed on all fours, and wiggle my ass at him while glancing over my shoulder. “You plan on starting on this fucking anytime soon?” I ask.

He chuckles, steps closer to the bed, grips my hips, and presses his hard cock against me. “Are you ready for me, sweetheart? I don’t want to hurt you.”

“I’ve been ready since you reminded me at the arena that you were going to knock me up,” I tell him, still looking back over my shoulder.

He moves his hands from my hips. One gathers my hair in a ponytail with a firm grip, and with the other, he traces his fingers gently down the length of my spine.

“It’s crazy that tonight could be it. We could create something that’s a piece of both of us.

A little of you, a little of me, and a whole lot of love,” he says, leaning over to trail kisses down my back.

“Yeah,” I say, my voice cracking. I know we’re doing this backward.

I know we should slow down, but there are no rules in relationships.

We both want this, so we’re doing it. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

All that matters is that we’re in this together.

And no matter when it happens, our kid, or kids, if we’re lucky enough, will know what it’s like to grow up with parents who adore one another.

We’re choosing love.

We’re choosing us.

He pulls back, tugging gently on my hair. “Is your pussy ready, baby?”

My answer is to wiggle my hips, and he groans as his cock slides against my heat. “You tell me,” I quip.

“My girl’s ready,” he says, pulling back just enough to align himself at my entrance. He gives no warning as he slowly pushes inside me. I push back against him, needing more. I want all of him, in every way.

“There it is,” he says, once he’s buried deep. “Grip the sheets,” he says, before pulling out and thrusting back in. By the third stroke, I already feel my orgasm starting to build. “You want a baby, Bay? You better come on this dick, sweetheart.”

“Mac—” I cry out for him. “More,” I pant, leaning forward, resting my forehead against the mattress.

I grip the sheets, anchoring myself in place, as he unleashes his desire on me.

I love every minute of it. Sex with Macklin is an out-of-body experience, like nothing I’ve ever felt.

Fast, slow, playful, it doesn’t matter. Everything in my life is better with Macklin.

“I feel you squeezing me, sweetheart.” He smacks my ass, and my body clenches around him. “There you go,” he says, not relenting in the power or the speed of his thrust.

“Don’t—”

“I’m not stopping. Not until you soak my cock. Are you going to be my good girl and come for me?”

That’s it.

Game over.

I cry out his name, screaming it into the mattress, while pleasure ripples through my body.

“Fuck! Yes. I feel you, baby. I’m right there.” He grunts, his thrusts becoming erratic, before his body stills. He’s leaning over, resting gently against me. His warm, sweaty skin is pressed against me, tethering us together. “Are you okay?”

“Is that a real question?” I ask, my voice breathy, still trying to recover from my release. “I’m more than okay, cowboy.”

“Good.” He kisses the back of my neck before pulling out of me, and I roll to my back.

“I read that you shouldn’t stand for thirty minutes after sex, and that you should prop your legs up, tilting your pelvis if you’re trying to get pregnant.”

“What? They put that in the rodeo magazines you’re always reading?”

“No. But the internet is full of information.” He smirks.

“Should I? I mean, should we try that as a last resort?”

“Fuck that. We’re making a baby. There is no last resort, Bay. Come on. I’ll lie with you.” He moves until he’s lying on his back, his head at the foot of the bed, and props his legs up on the headboard.

“You don’t have to do this, you know.”

“The hell I don’t. Together, Baylor. You and me and our babies. You’re going to be doing nine hard months—well, almost ten, if what I’m reading is right—so anything I can do to be with you throughout this, I’m all in.”

What do I say to that? Nothing. That’s what.

So, I turn, prop up my legs just like he does, and look at him, only to find he’s already watching me.

“Thank you for tonight. The rodeo, it was fun.”

“Just the rodeo?” I tease.

“Let’s wait the thirty minutes, we’ll shower, wash off the sweat, and I’ll thank your pussy for milking me dry.”

“Macklin!” I sputter with laughter.

“Love that sound, Bay.”

“I love you,” I tell him, meaning it with every fiber of my being. Macklin McBride rode into my life at the exact moment I needed him. We can’t dwell on the years we missed. I’m just glad he held on and took his shot when he had the chance.
