Decking His Halls #3

He releases my waist and holds himself in a sitting position through core strength alone, yanking his sweatshirt and T-shirt off in one go. And then I get a close-up look at those flexing abdominal muscles, and I swallow hard on a throat that’s suddenly gone dry.

“Nice.” My voice sounds strained.

He quirks a brow. “Ditto.”

He kisses me again, deeper this time. His hand slides up my back to unhook my bra.

I break the kiss, sucking in air. “Yes,” I whimper. “Touch me.”

With an appreciative groan, he pulls back a little to give the expensive undergarment space to fall away. I slide the straps down my arms and toss the bra to the side, where it lands on his rumpled comforter.

A look of wonder transforms his features as my breasts are revealed. And then, finally, he cups them in his big, warm hands. His thumbs tease my nipples, and the answering jolt of arousal makes me moan.

“These are the only snow globes I care about,” he murmurs, squeezing gently.

A laugh bubbles out of me. “If you’d let my grandmother’s snow globe break, she would’ve haunted you for the rest of your life.”

He lowers his head, muttering, “It would’ve been worth it.” And then his mouth closes over my nipple. The warm, wet curl of his tongue is perfection, and for once, I can’t think of witty quips, because I’m too absorbed in him.

My fingers sink into his hair. Pleasure spirals through me, electric and all-consuming.

I rock my hips, needing the friction. But it isn’t enough.

I push on his shoulders and we end up lying on the bed, me on my back and him leaning over me, continuing to worship my breasts.

The hot suction of his mouth stokes my desire higher, and I writhe beneath him until I’m so turned on, I can’t take it anymore.

I undo my jeans and begin to push them down my hips.

He raises his head. His eyes are dark and lust-drunk, his lips swollen and wet, his hair in disarray. “What are you doing?”

“Getting naked. You wanted to fuck me, right?” I’m feeling vulnerable, which makes me brash and bossy. “You’d better make this good. Don’t waste my time.”

“You’re such a brat.” But he says it like it’s a compliment, like he finds my brattiness delightful. In a softer tone, he adds, “Don’t worry, baby. I’m going to make it so fucking good for you.”

At that, all my defenses melt.

He drops his forehead to my belly. His hands caress my hips for a moment before helping me shove my pants off. My panties go next.

“Shiiiit, Noli.” His tone is reverent as he gazes down at me.

“Come here.” I pull him down to kiss me. His hands are restless, molding over my curves, kneading and grabbing like he can’t get enough.

When I’m wriggling again, he pulls back and sticks his index and middle fingers in his mouth, wetting them. I bite my lip when I realize what he’s going to do. Parting my thighs, I let out a ragged moan when he glides over my folds, searching, and then…

“Oh god!”

My head falls back and my eyes flutter shut as two thick digits press into me. The sound of his groan imprints itself in my memory.

“Fuck, you’re so… Is this okay?”

I sigh. “It’s perfect.”

He emits something like a growl and kisses my stomach as his fingers begin to pump.

His other hand joins in, rubbing circles over my clit.

I buck my hips in time with his thrusts, giving myself over to the mounting pleasure.

He touches me like he knows my body inside and out, like we’ve done this a thousand times.

I can barely believe this is happening. That this is David touching me. David, the object of all my fantasies. David with his kind eyes and heart-melting grin, his strong body and sure hands.

David, who has given me a safe space to land when I needed it most.

“David.”

I don’t realize I’ve said it out loud until he groans in response and rubs his face against my inner thigh. The rasp of his facial hair feels intimate and delicious.

“Yeah, Noli?”

“I’m close.”

“Good. Come for me, baby. Let me see you fall apart. I’ve been dreaming of this for so fucking long.”

This isn’t dirty talk. It’s better than that. And it pushes me right over the edge.

I… fucking… shatter.

When I finally come back to myself, he’s trailing kisses up and down my hip.

“Please tell me you have condoms,” I wheeze.

“I definitely have condoms.”

I exhale in relief. “Merry Christmas to me.”

Exhibit D.

Further proof that David Fonseca is annoying?

He edges me until I agree to scale back the decorations.

“Get rid of the place mats.”

I shake my head back and forth on the pillow. “Nooo. I love them.”

When I clench around him, he grunts but doesn’t move.

“The reindeer, then.”

“You want me to evict Blitzen?” My tone is scandalized.

“Blitzen’s an asshole. If you’d named it Comet or Prancer, we could talk.”

I frown up at him. “How do you know Blitzen’s an asshole?”

“With a name like that? Besides, they’re all assholes. You know the song.”

My giggle turns into a moan when his cock pulses inside me. “Fair point.”

“Do we have a deal?” His thumb circles my clit again and he resumes the short, shallow thrusts that make my whole body quake.

I dig my nails into his hard thighs. “Fine, I’ll get rid of the fucking reindeer. Just let me come!”

This time, he does.

I guess he’s not so annoying after all.

I have no idea how long it is before we’re lying in his bed, sweat drying on our skin, our limbs entwined, and his fingers threading gently through the ends of my hair. The postcoital haze following the best sex of my life feels like a space where I can say anything without emotional consequences.

So I do.

“Can I ask you a question?”

“Anything.”

“Why do you hate Christmas?”

He huffs out a laugh. “I don’t hate Christmas, Noelia.”

“Then why have you been acting like such a Scrooge?”

He shrugs. “Nando said you’d been feeling stressed, and you seemed to enjoy tormenting me. Besides, it’s fun getting you all riled up. Reminds me of when we were young.”

“You say that like we’re old now.”

He grunts. “I feel old.”

“You’re only thirty-six.”

“Tell that to my knees.”

“Oh, was that the creaking sound I heard? I thought it was the bed.”

“Brat.” He kisses the tip of my nose.

Since we’re confessing, I say, “You know I don’t actually need all these decorations, right? I only did it to annoy you. I would’ve been fine with the tiny fake tree.”

“I’m flattered you went to such lengths to get my attention.”

“Shut up.”

“I’m serious. But I’m glad to hear that.

” His brow creases, and his gaze drifts away from mine.

“I don’t know if you knew, but… my parents were basically hoarders.

It’s part of why I was over at your house all the time.

After my dad died and my mom got sick, I had to deal with all their stuff, so clutter is kind of stressful for me. ”

My stomach sinks. I’m a bigger asshole than Blitzen. “Shit, I’m so sorry. I’ve taken over your home with a stupid prank. We can pack everything up and donate it back to the thrift store tomorrow.”

He pulls me closer. “Don’t apologize. You were right, it’s festive. And you’ve made this place feel more like a home than it ever did before. Just tell me you don’t intend to leave it all up until Valentine’s Day.”

“Not a second past Three Kings Day. I promise.”

“Thank you.” His expression turns serious, and I stay quiet, waiting for him to gather his thoughts. Finally, he says, “Look, this wasn’t a onetime, heat-of-the-moment thing for me.”

“Me either,” I say quietly, but I’m not ready to go there yet, so I deflect with humor. “After all, I’ve only been dreaming of this for fifteen years.”

He ducks his head like I’ve embarrassed him, so of course, I go on.

“Seriously, I had the biggest crush on you in high school.”

He gives me an indulgent look. “You weren’t exactly subtle.”

“Yeah, that’s never been my strong suit.”

“Lucky for us, self-control is my strong suit. You were incredibly difficult to resist.”

My brows draw together, partly in confusion, partly because I’m looking into the past, remembering who we used to be. “So why did you?”

“Because you were seventeen.”

“You were twenty-one. Hardly a dirty old man.”

“Maybe not, but those four years felt significant. I was going to be a senior in college, and you were only a senior in high school.”

“I overheard you talking to Nando about it.”

David groans. “What did I say?”

“Nothing bad. Nando said, ‘You know my sister likes you, right?’ And you shook your head and said, ‘It doesn’t matter.’ ”

“Shit. I’m sorry.”

“Why? It’s not like you made fun of me.”

“No, but… Look, I wasn’t saying you didn’t matter. It was more to put him at ease, and let him know I wasn’t going to take advantage of you.”

What will Nando say about us now? I wonder, but I don’t voice my concern. Instead, I say, “I always wished you would make a move. But I was young. Emotionally. I would’ve made you my whole personality.”

“I would’ve done the same with you.”

I roll my eyes. “Don’t feel like you have to flatter me now.”

“It’s true. I used to reason with myself. Like if I’d been nineteen, it would’ve been okay to be obsessed with you. Two years wasn’t so much. But four? So I told myself to wait. To back off. Let you get through college.”

“I didn’t see you much during that time.”

“You were too tempting.”

“Even during my grunge phase?” I tease, and he grins.

“You’re sexy in anything. Even flannel.”

“Right answer.” I pillow my head on his chest and peer into his face. “But I graduated college ten years ago. Why did it take us so long to get here?”

He blows out a breath and gazes up at the ceiling.

“Life. Work. Everything with my parents. Helping my sister with her kids when they were little. It’s like I blinked and was suddenly in my mid-thirties—no wife, no kids.

I had a business, an apartment, but not a home.

And then… you showed up.” He slides his fingers into my hair and sends me a fond smile.

“In case it’s not clear, you being here has been really good for me. ”
